Nate--IRL-- Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Not according to Nate and Wags, though I agree that it seems to skirt the UBI issue slightly. Well to have FC2 you will need LOMAC. So you would have to have had it at one point. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

cichlidfan Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Test what? I am curious what the software is looking for and how FC2 would satisfy the letter of the contract with UBI. I don't recall anyone saying that LOMAC or FC1 were prerequisites for FC2. In short, I do not believe that you will be able to install FC3 if only FC2 is on your system. Scooternutz Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) Well I'll be! I installed BS1 (activated), DCS World, and then the BS2 Update and what do you know!!!! My activation doesn't work for the game I paid for. How cool is that?!! Update: All smart assness aside: I had to manually delete the DCS registry files and burn an activation for each module but hey, it works now. FPS sucks though. :( Edited October 3, 2012 by Scooternutz [sIGPIC]https://drive.google.com/file/d/16rUBmmJR7A3YGZVGPGskxG1XtvulGojJ/view?usp=sharing[/sIGPIC]
WindWpn Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I too experiencing Activation Issue with BS. Reinstalled BS1, then attempted to install BS 2 update for latest world and installs, but when I try to fly a quick mission, I get the activation prompt and it says something about an "integrity fault..." Thus, no joy on flying the Shark in latest build... :( The Rig: i5 7700k OC 4.6ghz, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1080ti, Windows 10 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
crazyirish93 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 anyone else notice tht the shark seems much more fragile more specifically its main hydo and then the subsequent ap's shutting off in rapid succession even with the most minor damage to anywhere on the shark ?

JS Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 (edited) So, how does this work? I install standalone BS1, then the BS2 upgrade module for DCS World. Can I delete the standalone BS1 then? All future BS updates will be handled through the DCS World Auto updater? Or do I need to keep the old standalone installed permanently for future updates to work? Edited October 17, 2012 by JS

After you have BS2 installed into world, you can delete BS1. Note that if you need to reinstall the BS2 upgrade, you need to install BS1 again. Shouldnt be much of an issue anymore now with the auto-updater. i5 3570k @ 4.3 560ti GTX 2gig 8gig RAM Intel SSD Win7 64bit
JS Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Ok, thanks, that sounds ok. Hopefully they will fix the reinstall issue in the future. It should be enough to, I don't know, maybe input both serial numbers or something when the upgrade module is installed. Something to make the BS1 installation unneccessary.

submarinex1 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) im little confused I got a10 and bs2 today I also downloaded dcs world. if I play standalone bs2 for example am I on 1.1 unless I play though dcsworld that's 1.2 ? Edited November 5, 2012 by submarinex1
BigfootMSR Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 yes, you are correct. The standalone versions ended at 1.1.1.1. DCS world is currently at 1.2.1.6488ish. DCS world is the most current version. submarinex1 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 thanks bigfoot was bit confused as installed games why update would only apply to world version or is that only way games will get updates now
BigfootMSR Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 World is technically the update to the game. The version following 1.1.1.1 migrated the game into a base program called World where all future air craft, aka modules, can plug into it. This opened the door to allow 3rd party developers access which up to this point could not develop for the DCS series. The modules are not limited to aircraft and can be such things as terrain or eventually ground vehicles. One of the other nice features of world was the fact that you did not have to download and install separate 5 gig programs.
