Or on monday? For April's fools?

That might set confusion through the forum...

- Is it out?

- No, look at the date.

- You sure? Their site is online and I'm downloading it.

- That was a trick, you've been fooled!

- No way

- Yeah, surely

- Wait, and the official announcement?

- A joke! An elaborated one though!

- ...

Never ending 1st april debate (but on 2nd April, the server burns or dies as D.o.S. attack because everyone wants its copy at the same time)

(That was just for the joke. I know it's not possible)

Just WOW! Awesome work, guys!

And now please, can I fly it? Just for a while, pretty please! I won't break it*, I promise!

*well, maybe just a little :D

Okay, to be honest, I'm not very fond of Huey, I have other favorite choppers, but... Hell, first non-coaxial chopper for DCS?! Gimme!

Really looking forward to this!

I think I am going to lay a charge against DCS and Belsimtek at the Hague for crimes against humanity, this is just pure torture :)

I love it when a plan comes together...

1. I finished reading Chickenhawk on Friday.

2. My new computer arrived on Saturday.

3. My Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals are due to arrive this week.

4. The DCS Huey is just around the corner.

You sure are lucky that it's the 2nd of April. ;)

I see the forum is starting to boil over again!

As mentioned previously, we are in the final testing stage, i.e. currently testing the installer and making last-minute fixes as needed. We were careful to say that this stage can take anywhere from days to weeks, so please be patient and give us the time needed to work through this process.

In recent weeks we've been working closely with a couple of Huey pilots added directly to the test team and as a result there has been a lot of tuning of the FM. We expect this process will continue after open beta release as well.

Besides the FM, some updates and improvements have continued to be made to the cockpit and external model. One of the more interesting ones just came in today. Although not functional yet, a FAT (free air temperature) gauge has been added to the top left corner of the right pilot’s front canopy. As many DCS Black Shark veterans no doubt appreciate, a simple FAT gauge is quite an important tool to have when considering the aircraft's performance capabilities and the dangers of icing.

Finally, a couple of courtesy screenshot to go with the update.

For what it's worth. It looks like it's still gonna be a while before release. :noexpression: Oh well. Moving on.

most of the outside screenshots have the weapons pylons attached even if no weapons are present. Are we going to be able to have true slicks, ie. just the door gunners no pylons??

Thanks for the update EB. I know it must be frustrating for you guys, to watch us boil over from time to time, but really it IS an good thing, I mean at least you know we want it. :D

Fingers crossed that this wonderful product will be with us soon. Oh and by the way, love the night shots. :)

Not sure, as you have said, all the shots have shown he pylons attached even without the weapons, so I'm guessing it may be a restriction on the model. If not though I'm sure it might be one of the first things modded.

If it will be possible to fly without the weapon hardpoints? So we can fly with the door gunners only?, as in the pics of my post. That will be better for transport and CSAR missions If those kind of missions are added at some point. That make reference to the missions we will be able to fly too, CSAT, insertion/extractions, MEDEVAC... Are they going to be included?

I expect that it will be possible to setup a "slick" configuration of the Huey. It just hasn't been implemented yet.

Assuming this is implemented at some point, then I am looking forward to it. It would also be cool to get a version without door guns for a "civilian" mode like the P-51.

As we are preparing for an open beta release, it was never the plan to have everything finished prior to launch. Work will continue even after the beta is out.

Don't worry, we know about not everything will be working on initial release, but we are still very very excited about the Huey. Just happy you guys are doing an open beta, so we can fly it sooner.

I understood EB. :) For myself, I was just trying to lower the expectation of a release being within the next few days. :music_whistling: I am aware that there will be a beta release and work will continue on with new features and tweaking. I'm not trying to jab too much about "why is it not ready yet" because I know it's not an easy job and the scope of work that goes into bringing this product together is beyond my comprehension. Continue on EB and Belsimtek staff. I will be here waiting...quietly.;)

 well said.

Although can I just ask EB, could you possibly try and release it BEFORE we get nuked by North Korea next week. Would be a shame if no one got to fly this work of art before we became toasty. ;)

Only joking mate, you and the team take all the time you need to bring us this stunning product, trust me we are not going anywhere. From what I've seen, this will be more than worth the wait, and im hoping it will be a start to a long relationship flying Belsimtek Helicopters.
