Ok. So it's a mod issue then? It's not just on my end? :)

yap..seems like..this problems have been discussed earlier:)

My Specs:

Correct ratio for 1920:1080 is 16:9

The game divides 1920/1080 which equals 1,777777777777778.

That's why. :)

In the end, the game engine understands the latter, not the former. :)

Thanks a bunch, Lizzard.

Let's see if PeterP could sort it out.

I tried fiddling with the lua files and made it even worse. :P

HI . This mod is already functionnal with the F15c ?1.2.8 thank's in advance .

yes.

I found that the problems with the 25t and the 33 can be fixed by replacing the 25t's cockpit setting in the server.lua with those of the su25 and replacing the su33's with the su27's.

...after updating to 1.2.8 a few things got changed and some cockpits are distorted or broken. Can anyone confirm that this mod became incompatible with the Su-25T and the co-pilot for the UH-1?

I confirm. I've just install this mod for v1.2.8 and realized that this mod causes some cockpit problems in Mi-8 and Huey.

I'm experiencing same thins as yours screenshots...

I think the "proper neck" is now somehow implemented by default in DCS.

Have not made tests myself with the mod, but feels like DCS is no longer colocating pivotpoint and eyepoint.

If correct, that means the mod is no longer needed.

It would be great if you acquired some official confirmation along with the info on how to tweak the DCS implementation.

Hello guys,

The game divides 1920/1080 which equals 1,777777777777778.
Since the V1.2.8 I have the same ratio for this same resolution.

Devrim you have right, there's few hours I've remove this Mod and now everything is OK.

I'm very sad because this Mod is awesome and necessary for me, I hope one new version for the V1.2.8

Bye, Skull.

Changes have been made to the shoulder position but I think that the difference between eye position and head position are not incorporated into default view system.

Basically the changes that have been made have made this mod better more than redundant, as I understand it.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.

Hello guys,

I've read all your answers, it's very interesting. I've remove the Mod of Peter because I've the same bug with my Huey that you but for me the "Proper Neck" of the V1.2.8 is not good, with my A-10C it's a real nightmare.

With the V1.2.8 for my A-10C the view is not realist or good, for read all the data informations in my HUD I must go back and when I turn my head or look down all my cockpit seems to far.

If I use the keys for be close of the cockpit it's not good for read all the data of the HUD.

"Num* - RCtrl - RShift" Cockpit Camera Move Forward

"Num/" FOV- aka Zoom-in

Do you think that we have one future solution, one new Mod of Peter or other fix of ED ?

EDIT: The Mod of Peter P was awesome and incredible Mod, MUST to have !!!

Thanks, Skull

Hello,

Since I've removed "Proper Neck" everything is fine with all my addons: A-10C, KA-50, Huey, P-51D, Mi-8 and F-15C.

After to have remove "Proper Neck" and "SnapViews.lua" I've launched my DCS, the option "Enable User Snap-View Saving" checked and I've launched all my modules and created the best view as possible with "RAlt+Num0" for save the current Cockpit view as default for all my modules.

For all my modules I found my settings perfect but with the A-10C I've meet few problems for obtain a good reading of the HUD (it's not easy to read all the data) and for be not too far from the front dash, left dash and right dash when I turn my head.

Now it's too late but tomorrow I return in my A-10C for have the best point of view but without the Mod of our friend PeterP it's not easy...

I hope that PeterP could created one new Mod for the V1.2.8 because this Mod miss me.

PS: Shaman, please can you give me your "User LUA files" for tested your settings for the A-10C ?

EDIT: I'm very sorry for my poor English and that my explanations are clear...

A great thanks in advance, Skull.

Hi Skull, just a wild guess, but I think if it would be that easy PeterP would already have fixed that issues. This may be a struggle with deep DCS coding or something:huh:

Hello dear Lizzard,

Yes I think that you have right, I image that it's not so easy to make one such mod for DCS.

PeterP has a great talent, if he cannot created one new version of his Mod it's maybe because as you write, not easy or impossible to make one new version for 1.2.8.

Wait and see is maybe the best way...

Thanks again, Skull.

Attached are the original 128 Server and Snapviews Default luas and moded files (these last ones are to be placed ONLY in "C:\Users\YourName\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View"). Use them for inspiration to modify your files as they had all modules info in it and some other mod tests. Backup your files!!!

The bug in Mi-8 is caused by the wrong coordinates found in old Server.lua for "cockpit position". If you look in view.lua from Mods\Mi-8 MTV2\ you will se that now coordinates for cockpit position are not in 0.00000 as in old files but in 3.916, -0.11 , 0.0

This is how it looks for each ofthe three cockpits (Pilot, copilot and engineer)

CockpitLocalPoint = {3.916, -0.11 , 0.0},

Thanks for fixing the Mi8, zaelu!

However, the UH1 is still broken for the co-pilot. Have you further modified yours after the upload?

Still, your work has made PeterP's work once again great. Thanks! :pilotfly:

========================================================

EDIT: I took the liberty to update the UH1 configuration using the tips you gave in your previous post about the "CockpitLocalPoint" value changes.

I also changed the values for the SU-33 by using the same values from the Su-27. It works now as well.

P.S.: I didn't use the exact values of the SU33 because I did not find the file "views.lua" for this particular aircraft under the FC3 aircraft. Therefore, I used the same values for the Su27. It seems to work ok.

I think all aircraft are working perfectly as it is.

Hope this helps!!! :pilotfly:

Still no joy with the Huey. I've tried copying the files verbatim as well as modifying them manually and I still get a CTD when I switch to the copilot seat.

Try changing the UH-1H entry to

CockpitLocalPoint = {2.34, 0.37 , 0.0},

It works for me
