Is this the same module http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119545 announced by Wags?

Yes, and for the life of me I cannot understand why it says 'coming soon' without the words 'to Steam' after it.

do I need lockon installed for DCS FC3?

Hi,

I am thinking of getting DCS FC3 during the spring sale. Do I need to have Lockon installed, and pay dividends to Ubisoft? Or can DCS FC3 nowadays be installed just like any other DCS module?

Never done refuel in the Russian planes. What Russian aircrafts can do in air refuel? And what are the preferred speed on the tanker? Are there different refuel speeds for the fighters?

Posted

SU-33 is the only flyable russian FC3 aircraft which can be refuelled in the air.

If you extend the refuelling probe the HUD shows you the speed of the tanker and your own speed in the upper left corner.

If you informed the tanker about your request he will hold a constant speed and attitude. (I think it was some about 450 or 550 km/h, just try it :])

You simply call the tanker in coms menu and fly very close to him from behind. If you're close enough you can call him in coms menu again and he will extend the tube. Extend your own probe, trim for a straight and level flight (!) and carefully move the probe to his. He will inform you if connection could be established etc.

Is it possible to get subtitles for the b****ing betty of the Su-27 when using Russian cockpits option? I like the realism of having a Russian betty calling out warnings but the problem is I don't understand a word she's saying. Kind of defeats the purpose...

I want to change the color of the required bank and pitch indicators, on ADI in the Su-33, to augment the contrast. Is that possible? Can I ask for the developers implement that? I'm having hard work landing in the carrier with 0 visibility, in the new 6DOF cockpit...

I'm looking at the textures files but not seeing the needles, only the instruments base textures and scales.

I'm noticing that the F-15 AFM still feels like it lacks power. Vertical climbs can only be sustained for a VERY short period of time and it seems like anything above 25deg pitch results in a loss of airspeed at max power. I started digging through the 1F-15A-1 and tried duplicating the recommended takeoff procedure for MAX power and found it is impossible to do. Is this a miscalculation or intended? Not sure if this is the right place to post this question so any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated

I was able to replicate it and I didn't need to pull more than about 20 degrees pitch on average to make it work. I tried it with full fuel, missile and tank load. I didn't check if it's accurate to the feet and second but it seemed more than close enough to the real numbers. You cant climb vertically at high speed due to drag even if your T/W is little above 1.

Hello, are there any training mission for FC3 aircrafts that would replace the video tutorials that are present in the game? I've found such missions for KA-50 here on forums but I'm unable to find any for FC3.

The videos are such a bad way to learn when you cannot test it right away...

Do, or do not, there is no try.

Try the quick mission on easy skill. That probably the best bet for quick scenarios

Bushmanni, the TO calls for a 350kts climb out @ 40deg pitch up. I tried it in a slick config (no tanks, missiles, etc). Even as part of the FCF checklist, it requires a max climb check which calls for a high speed vertical T/O to 15,000ft. I'll talk with some friends and get the exact airspeed numbers (probably should have done that first)

The AFM matches the TO, and will also replicate the streak eagle profile with a little bit of mucking around (you need to lock fuel at unlimited at an average-ish weight, because the 15C is too heavy when empty compared to the Streak).

So I was starting to doubt my F-15 knowledge (I am currently an F-15 crew chief with 12+ yrs on F-15C/D/E's) so I did some fact checking with one of the most experienced f-15C pilots I know with almost 20 years of flying F-15's and when I explained the AFM limits in game his response was "bullsh*t!" The F-15's unique ability to accelerate vertically is one the of the key attributes that the pilots use to gain the advantage in a dogfight and I simply can't come close to duplicating that aspect in the game. I realize that a video game will never be the same as the real thing but I figured I would would atleast bring it up in the hopes that the devs might fix it in a future update

We have contact with many F-15 SMEs. And we know how to read and replicate the TO's.

The in-game F-15 performance matches the TOs.

Rather than simply asking him "does it accelerate in the vertical", ask him under what *conditions* does it accelerate in the vertical. The PFM does. It simply does not do it at all times, because the actual F-15 doesn't do so at all times, otherwise, we'd be talking about using it as an orbital platform.
