Yep, especially in multiplayer when other fire their guns... FPS drops to one digit... It's sad. We all played WW2 sims and in none happened such thing. And is not like is the first plane with guns in DCS World.

I think it transmits over the network all the ballistic info and more for each and single round fired. Very unoptimized from this point of view.

I see the major FPS drop when a plane is shot down and the start of smoke from plane and it breaks up. And I have a 980x CPU with a 680 gtx and 12 gigs of ram.

I go to 12FPS in the cockpit, switch to outside view and get 39 FPS, back to cockpit 12FPS. This was just when I was landing on an empty map.

I have the problem too! I am getting 40+ normally but as I start to shoot some bullets, fps goes down to one digit number. I am using 2500K with AMD6950. I have no idea why only P51 gives me this problem. Other modules like A10 are just fine.

Same problem here. Only happens with P-51's guns. All FC3 aircraft, A-10C, and Ka-50 cause no problems with guns.

Also, the FPS drop still happens when 4 of the six cal. 50 guns run out of ammo and only the 2 outer ones are firing.

Guys, its a feature. Time slows down when you pull the trigger on a P-51D. This is just simulation at its best.

...I don't have any problems with framerate loss when firing guns (or at least I didn't, haven't played with the latest update).

However, bullet impacts on the ground drop me to the low 20s.

I'm with Nealius. Last time I flew combat (haven't in the latest version), firing the .50's didn't do anything noticeable to my FR, but when firing at low altitude, when the bullets hit the ground, that's when it becomes unflyable. On one occasion, at least, I've flown into the ground because I'm suddenly "blinded" by the freeze.

Missing the joke me thinks...

Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

In multiplayer the big frame rate drop I see is when other people are firing their guns. That rules out physics calculations, I think, because it should be the client's own front end that handles those. That means it's those little laser beam looking things that send the frame rate plummeting.

^^this!

i have the same issue.its not when you fire your guns, or when other planes shoot at you, but if you watch two planes fighting and shooting each other, then my frames descend continually as long as the shooting continues.

I run this in true 1080P 1980x1050 on my 144hz monitor.

However if I lower that resolution and keep it on high setting as well as edit graphics.lua = 55FPS on every update. I get really good FPS.

P-51 in general gets really poor fps.

I know it just came out today, but I am curious if anyone who has this issue has noticed an improvement with the release of DCS 1.2.6 update 1. I don't have this problem but a squad member does so I have been trying to help him out. He is running an ATI 7970 and I have a GTX 560ti graphics card. We can't figure out why he gets FPS drop when firing his guns and I don't.

1.2.6 Update 1 doesn't not mention any kind of bug fix for this issue, which I find very disappointing since it appears it has been around for a while.
