Pessimistic much?

The F/A-18C has been in development since back when the A-10A changed to the C model...

Naïve question: Why is it easier to make Mustangs and Doras than more modern aircraft like the A-10C? I mean, it seems like ED are popping these aircraft out in no time, while the Hornet takes a good long while.

What probably takes the same amount of effort to make is the model, cockpit model, and AFM. Are there so much avionics and complex systems in modern aircraft that making them takes years longer? The Hornet is probably special though, since they have to make carrier ops to go along with it.

Nice plane on that gun...

The very same reason it took much less time to develop and produce the Mustang as opposed to the F/A-18 in real life.

Modern aircraft are many times more complex.

My guess is the FW 109. We haven't seen or heard anything from the F18 yet so I doubt that they even started.

One day they will just drop the bomb and say: Here you go, DCS: F/A-18C pre purchase including open beta.

I wish...

Next DCS will be ???? FW 109 or F18C ?

Do you mean FW 190 or BF 109?

I'd prefer the 109, but the 190 would provide a much better opponent for the Mustang.

Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
