Ya can have this one as well :)

So dicking around at work and looking into the rabbits hole and find mr.pman slipped this into the what if threads along with a P-38. So F4U-4 with 20mm seems to be veaos release in the future.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Sorry, but Ju-87 has no place in the late war ETO. The Germans do need a good ground attack aircraft, though. Most multiplayer maps seem to heavily focus on vehicles, bridges, and tanks.

I agree with Mobius that a Fw 190F-8 would be a good choice.

Well to be honest, I believe the Ju-87 was still in limited operations till mid 1944 on the Eastern Front, although it might be a stretch, it's an interesting aircraft, would love to see a late model, DCS level, at some point for sure...

A G Stuka with the 37mm AT guns could do the job nicely.

I wouldn't mind seeing multi engine offerings either, the Luftwaffe had a few decent offerings, the Ju-88, the Me410...

Stuka D-5 was pretty much the same airframe and would make a great combo with the G-2. I'd love to see the Ju-88/Me410 and they would be first day buys for me. I can care less if they were competitive in late 44 because I would fly them regardless and I doubt many people would complain because they aren't considered "super props" like the Bearcat.

No need for us to be stuck in 1944 forever either...

Very true Sith. Stuka G-2/D-5, Me 410s, and Ju88 would make great mid war designs also. Ju88 started off very early in the war and was seen in pretty much every front in Europe. It would be a dream to see Bf109 G2 or F4, FW190 A-3 or A-5, and other mid war allied fighters also.

I just finished reading Hans Ulrich Rudel's "Stuka Pilot"

What an interesting read!

After that book, my view on the Stuka is quite transformed.

According to the book, Rudel used anti-tank Stukas right until the end of the war, on the Eastern front.

What surprised me as well was that the Stuka was not quite as helpless as one would have thought.

I would have thought that much faster and modern fighters would shoot it down at first sight, but apparently the Stuka was so maneuverable that it could slip out of range every time the much faster fighter came in to shoot.

I read the book because apparently it was compulsory literature for the people who ended up designing the A-10. And I can see why.

Ability to perform in adverse weather under the clouds, slow but maneuverable so that you could identify your targets properly and solidly built so that it could sustain punishment are all things that sounds familiar when considering the A-10.

Plus of course the ability to take out tanks with 37 mm cannon rounds. wink.gif

I stumbled over this interview video by chance, which confirms the Stuka's ability to maneuver itself out of attacks from seemingly superior attackers:

Funny enough, it was the older and slower Hurricane that made problems, because it could follow the turns. But not the faster Spitfire. :)

The interview is part of a long series, that looks quite interesting:

So, to cut things short: A Ju-87 would be a very interesting addition to DCS WW 2. :)

My mod I have always made public.

The model of the aircraft carrier Enterprice is not yet completed, I have to animate the weapons on board.

Furthermore I do not know like how to activate the cable stop.

Let us remember that we have not yet DCS in a WWII plane with the catch and then you can not land on an aircraft carrier.

Sorry for my bad English.

Not to sound like a rivet counter, but am I the only one that noticed the number "6" is painted on the deck backwards?? I would still love to see it in that game though.

Hello Wolf Rider,

I do not know if this 3d model is the model "knock off". I downloaded this model free from a Russian website.

For AG-51_Razor:

thanks for noticing.

I'm working on the values lua of the Arresting gear: a long and boring.

Nope, the "6"'s are just fine

BTW, although the F4U never tangles with German fighters in Europe, the British FAA Corsairs certainly could have on missions over Scandinavia, for example Operation Tungsten --to sink the KM Tirpitz--; they provided air cover, but apparently never encountered enemy aircraft.

Nope not in our release schedule, this was a private mod from years ago

Not in any of our plans to do a Corsair or a P-38
