ScottishMartialArts
It just took me 8:24 to load the first Mi-8 mission. In 1.2.4 and 1.2.5 my load times were under 2 minutes for initial load, and then just over a minute for subsequent loads. There was an earlier version -- 1.2.2 maybe? -- which had terrible load times, i.e. 5-6 minutes, but 1.2.6 seems to be setting new records in this regard. Anyone else having this problem? TurboHog
It's horrible! I just clocked 5:45 while loading a mission, which is by far the longest loading time I've ever experienced for a program/game on my computer. But 8:24 man... That's a new world record! remon
I had that problem and I have an SSD. I had the preload radius to full. Check if lowering it helps you.
Jeesus
Well, I smell some BST smell there, I just tested for your post's sake, for me clean DCSW 1.2.6 install on SSD, quick mission (empty map) loading time is around 22 seconds. This is why I kept the UH-1H module out from my install previously, because after installing it (the first versions) loading times became abysmal...nature of the beast :D TrailBlazer
Harrysound
This patch seems to be really bad in my view. It kinda broke a bunch of stuff. Also I still havn't seen these new smoke effects on wings and the engines yet. Do i need ot turn them on.
Hamblue
After a dozen or so patches since the last required full install maybe it's time to wipe the game out and re-install. I'm sure the config files would still work. Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard 2600k CPU, 16 gig DDR3, 1600. ScottishMartialArts
So I guess a completely clean install is the way to go? I was hoping to avoid that on my garbage net connection, but honestly the load times are making DCS unplayable right now, so I guess I'll give it a shot. I thought one of the great benefits of DCS World with it's modules and auto-updater, was we would not have to go through that clean install stuff any more when an update came out... heloguy
At least you got the update. My auto-updater hanged, and won't do anything now after repeated "repairs" and retries. Now I'm downloading everything for a clean install...if my load times suck with that, I'm going to strafe civilians. Weta43
It just took me 8:24 to load the first Mi-8 mission. How long did it take to load the second mission ? The first load after an update always takes a long time, then not so much after that ... Cheers.

But I have all on fast SSD, and with 1.2.5 I had load-time ~5 seconds (just guessing, because it was so fast I never bothered to measure it). Trust me, once you get used to apps starting instantly you *will* notice the difference wenn something suddenly takes half minute to start. Of course, 6-8min is different story... zaelu
I also observed a bit more load times... but I can't complain... no way near 8 minutes. I have my OS on a SSD and games (just 2 actually) on a second SSD. Under one minute... by far... but FPS seems have increased also... and that's a good thing. TimeKilla
Loading for me is just the same as before I run a SSD (Corsair Force GT) and like zaelu only place a few games on it that I feel benefit from it. msalama
Anyone else having this problem? Everything as before here, the first Mi-8 mission takes maybe 40 seconds to load. I've got DCS installed on an SSD drive so that obviously helps as well. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of. Same for me... Do not know my loading times, but it's loading fast, like it is for you. I have 2x SSD disks. One for Windows and one for DCS. 8 Gig RAM, Medium GPU, New Intel CPU, New mainboard etc And I have not reinstalled DCS since i got my new computer in May, onely auto updates so far. I have not seen any significant change in loading times since initial install. I love DCS-World. Fantastic, Easy(maintanence and updates) and Quality. I have: KA - 50 (II) (Retired) A-10C (Active) UH-1H (Sundays) I will buy: Mi 8 (Soon) (For sundays flyeing) Mig 21Bis (When it comes out) (Will be active) And other modules when they are available, mainly fixed wings...
