Flaming Cliffs 2 - Cobra Manuever help

well a couple issues otherwise im doing fine

 

1. my game crashed on SU27 quick start when i hit fighting the 4 f15s (see my pc specs thread here:

2. i could use help with bvr

 

3. i could use help with mission editor

 

4.F15 radar where do you see your targets or base?

 

5.A10 radar same as above issue

 

6. how to pull a proper cobra

 

 

 

otherwise ive got everything including getting airborne and landing down and have carried my real life love of the SU27 into FC2

1. I'm not sure about this.

 

2. Press I to initiate RWS mode after pressing 2 on the keyboard, or enable the N010 radar in the Russian fighters.

 

3. It is a bit complicated to use, but here is a manual for the FC2 GUI. Go to page 41 for mission editor tutorials. http://www.185th.co.uk/Flaming%20Cliffs/lockon_fc2_gui_manual_en.pdf

 

4. As I said, pressing I will turn on the radar. It will show rectangles for enemy units, and circles for friendly units.

 

5. There is no proper radar for the A-10A, only an RWR and a Maverick sight, assuming you are not using Easy Radar mode.

 

6. Go around 200-300 mph, press the K key, and pull up. Be prepared to stall!

the K thing doesn't seem to be working and im playing with the easy flight mode and radar off cause i have flight sim experience along with real life cessna experience

 

and one other thing is even with activated radar bvr never locks on anything

 

and with the su27 bore sight mode and the helmet aimed R73 mode wont lock on anything

Once you got something on the radar, and your aiming thingy is over it (:p), press enter. It will lock it.

Cobra Manuever help

 

ive been told k makes the AOA limiter turn off allowing the cobra but it just refuses to work for me

OMG...someone mentioned the cobra maneuver....let me go get my popcorn....I'm glad I made it in time for the start of the show....

The "K" key worked back in old good LOMAC, FC1 and even in FC2 I guess, but does not anymore in FC3. And besides that, it kinda didn't turned off the AOA limiter, but rather played a pre-scripted animation.

 

I hope that the upcoming AFM for Su-27 will do any justice to it, 'cause I want to do my Cobra, and this time, a real AFM one! :joystick:

 

 

Now when we have this one sorted out, can we discuss if there is some use of Cobra maneuver in actual combat?

^^No, everyone knows Cobra is useless in actual combat. However, it's a known fact if someone is chasing you and you deploy your airbrakes, the guy will overshoot you and then you'll be able to kill him with guns.

It will be interesting to see if this maneuver will be doable with the AFM...

Of course the cobra is a legitimate combat maneuver and will help in combat. :music_whistling: :helpsmilie:

It was disabled because it just was useless and unrealistic. I think you can re-enable it by going into the aircraft's keyboard.lua in the input folder and un-commenting out the command.

yes, cause nobody was responding with help but rather turned the thread into an arguement about the cobra then when i tried clarifying it was FC2 not FC3 else i would have posted it in the FC3 section nobody responded for 3 days

 

so yes cause i enjoy playing flight sims not waiting weeks just to get help for one feature to work

 

 

 

it would be helpful if you hadn't merged them cause now nobody can see i need help with the cobra cause the title says nothing of it

Frustrated With FC2, Enabling Cobra with Notepad++ not working after 3 days of trying

 

as the title says ive done exactly as said to get it to work yet it still refuses to work

 

Ive tried removing the lines in front of the command, ive tried downloading the edited .lua others posted to make it work yet nothing, no AOA limiter disabling, just crap

 

my question is what genius at ED had the idea that just cause it didn't turn out like they planned to disable it and make it near impossible to re-enable when they know one of the reasons Sukhoi aircraft are so loved is their crazy Aerobatics?

yea no offense meant to ED but it should have been made at least easier to enable, cause the cobra in LOMAC was nice
