Voodoo-chacal Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 lol, 2 or 3 years to complete an advanced flight model that's already in beta testing? I have to say, I think you're airing pretty heavily on the negative nancy side. Can't wait to see the new and improved F-15C though. I also Can't wait to see the new and improved F-15C It will be great. DCS does great work I really like the work done for them but they take too long to introduce ourselves new products
Voodoo-chacal Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) As long as they do it right (with fewer bugs (that means testing a lot)), it's better to take a bit longer, although we all want it quick! I also appreciate DCS for the levels they reach, in terms of realism. The F/A-18, F-16, A-10, and F-15 are just about from the same era. Plus with all the modernizations, the legacy hornets are probably, functionally, the oldest of the bunch. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

The F-16 Entered Service is about 8 years before the legacy hornets. and flew about 4 and a half years before it. F-16's are still being built and sold to allied nations. Voodoo-chacal Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 With respect, I think you're very wrong. Just because a very F-16 sim already exists is no reason for anybody els not to try and make a better one. And if anybody can do it, it is Eagle Dynamics. Most people here have chosen DCS world as their primary sim, not everybody wants to install another one. I personally very much look forward to DCS: F-16 whenever it may happen. ED are on the verge of improving DCS world greatly very soon, it seems plausible that we will soon see modules at a faster rate once the foundations have been completed. I hope ED don't share this attitude and that they go about making whichever aircraft they are passionate about... regardless of what other sims may be about. I could not give a better answer. perfect : Thumbup:
XtraChrisP Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I would love some top cover from a couple Vipers when I'm in my Hawg, if for no other reason that they could share data via the TAD page. Bring on the DCS F-16!

Kenan Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I just hope access to open beta doesn't get delayed for too long..I'm really looking forward to fly the 15 (and later 27) with a new AFM. Bring on the DCS F-16! Vipers aren't on SADL, they are on L16. Friendly AEW&C aircraft, however, would be able to translate this into a usable SADL signal. At any rate, I'd much rather have top cover from an F-15C than an F-16C. Actually, I'd much rather BE top cover, but that's beside the point :D. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Same here, I almost bit the bullet and bought FC3 but I dont want to keep Lockon installed (wonder if I can even find it somewhere) and the SFM would only spoil the planes for me. I want to see how these airframes perform in the real world (or as close to as possible). One other thing, is the 'open' beta coming at all? As far as I know the previous stand alone modules (A10A and Su25) never had one, but then again their AFM's were very close to the tried and true A10C and Su25T.
Kenan Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 One other thing, is the 'open' beta coming at all? Open beta was announced..I thought by now we'd have access to it but I guess it's not ready for the public yet. FC3 is good fun, it seems a shame people are missing out because of this extra bit of effort. Hopefully one day ED will find a work around to this silly hold they have over them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Raven68 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 The F-16 has better chances of survival in any type of combat anyways..., than the F-15 (except if it only wants to flee away)! I wonder how you came to this conclusion?? One is a single engine and the other is a dual. That item alone bears a better chance of survival because of redundancy. You lose an engine in a F-16 you have no power to escape. You lose an engine in a F-15...well you have the other engine to limp home and SURVIVE. blkspade Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I'm a bit curious as to where this conclusion comes from. Combat records a side, having a single engine alone is kind of a strike against survivability or battle damaged aircraft recovery. I've read somewhere at some point its one of the main reasons the US navy prefers dual engine jets. Then theres the topic of multi-role craft making trade-offs that leave something lacking in there respective areas. The F-15C is designed and trained solely for A-A. The F-16 has better chances of survival in any type of combat anyways..., than the F-15 (except if it only wants to flee away)! http://104thphoenix.com/
SkateZilla Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 The Landing/Take off and "Departure" behavior are the only things that keep me from enjoying the F-15C, in SP and MP, So when we get the AFM I'll be the happiest person in my Mancave, Take Offs and Landings and Stalls Oh My..
