I remember Milan saying that they will be just an add-on and you can buy them in addition to the original design.

that will be great

Hi Milan,

A quick question...

Any chance of upgrading the USB type B plug on the Crosswinds to a newer type like a USB type C or something ?

IMHO, bad idea. Type B is way more sturdy, than Type C.

I can think of literally no benefit to usb c for a game controller. the cables are stupid expensive, they're less durable, there's no need for the bandwidth.

Posted

Type c would be just unnecessary complication... we currently have usb 2 type B with 1000 updates per second capability, and we crimped it down to 250 updates per second because there is no need for any faster.... so why to upgrade to type c and worry about drivers, compatibility with older systems ??

I am a newbie but milan's mfg crosswinds work great, smelled a bit strange out of the box but that disappears quickly.

Fits well on the wheelstand pro as well, and i can adjust it in many ways and program it a bit. Could you ask for anything better?

Keep in mind tho that if you are new to flight pedals that you will want to consider using or purchasing a chair that can stay still and firm on the floor without moving around.

I have a wheeled office chair on hardwood floor and it wasn't too bad. However, I did cut up two rubber gaskets in half and used it as chocks. Works like a charm and is better than not having it.

Have my Crosswind now for good one Year in action, overall no doubt there the best ones out there.

For me there two things in my mind what be great addition, first of all the adjustable spring is from the layout not a constant spring force.

What i mean for full deflection have to much force or not enough for accurate centering.

For intial tension possible two extra Springs with low force on the center bearing greater centering.

Second one, is have many time's i sliped the way from the pedals because his smoothe surface.

Would be great there was addition old school leather Straps like aviation use side the beginning to prefent sliping from the Pedals...

Yeah me too, been waiting for ages for those combat style pedals...

I hear that the BAUR BRD-MS3 metal unit with Su-35 style combat pedals is also a formidable, compact and cheaper option ...

I love the non metal Crosswinds but cant wait indefinitely for Milan to release the combat style pedals...

Also the BRDs also provide higher resistance as you push further. I believe the Crosswinds do too,,,

Maybe someone who has used both can shed some light on this ...:music_whistling:

There's nothing to it really.

Just take two rubber gasket (similar to this) and cut it in half.

Then after you sit down, you reach down and put one in the front and back of the wheels. I just do the two front wheels and the chair stays put.

I can take a picture of it on Friday when I get back. Works like a charm

A quick stop solution till you get some chocks made up for your chair with wheels is to take a thick bath/beach towel, fold it a few times and place it under the chair.

Once your weight is on the chair the wheels don't move so the chair keeps position.

It's not very elegant but it is functional ;)

Just don't pick the missus's favorite towel, that may result in you getting grounded :D

I have a chair that locks the wheels when you sit on it. Unfortunately the plastic internal dog-tooth locking soon broke up so I added 'brake pads':-

I used cushion floor off-cuts, each 15mm x 6mm x 3-4mm thick and super-glued them under the wheel arches so that when I sit down the pads are pushed down onto the wheels. Works like a charm even though three or four pads have come off (I will glue back on).

So if you have vertical movement in the wheels, try that.

Ah, thanks for the contact details. I'll have to learn some Russian. :book:

I found the thread here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=173100

I do prefer the modern style pedals as well.

I wonder if we could restrict the OT posts on this thread? Maybe start a new thread on the BRD's (which definitely deserve them).
