Radio Transmission - Degradation: How to solve?
Mistermann replied to Mistermann's topic in Mission Editor
Thanks! My zone is attached to the player so LOS and distance shouldn't be an issue. I may play around with the zone and move it off the player just in case there's some bug in there somewhere. -
Great ! Does it overlap with the south border of CW Germany ?

Although not as frequently as the Italian bases but two airbases in Hungary were also involved. TASZAR Airbase was busy as a logistic hub receiving many transport aircraft. Also reconnaissance operations with USAF Predators operating from the base. KECSKEMET Airbase was doing daily CAP operations with MiG-29 aircraft. null

Yes please, if they move the border about 15KM East it will be able to also cover my previous home in Ukraine, would be super cool if i could bomb my younger self.

Radio Transmission - Degradation: How to solve?
ChillNG replied to Mistermann's topic in Mission Editor
Two main factors can be at play I believe with radio transmissions - Line of Sight and Range. LOS is not usually a problem, just have a unit at high altitude send the transmission and you'll rarely have a problem. Range is a bigger issue once ED introduced the degradation of comms, so I usually just move units closer until I get the desired effect. If that's not an option then one solution is to just have the comms transmitted by the player and then you'll never get any degredation, but you'll have to make sure that the transmission is only played if the player is on the correct frequency so there is a little more work involved. -
To start the game. Then you turn them off to save battery and prolong lifespan.

I'm a big fan of the L-39. The C-101 gets a lot of love on a regular basis and might be a better module, but I enjoy the L-39 more. Just threw in the NS430 and I like the way it sits in the instrument panel, as if it belongs right there. I have the MB-339 in the civvy sim and I really like it, but not so much in DCS, not sure why. For me: L-39 FTW!

Strange, I just tested the Russian pack, and I didn't have any issues with the sound. Disable all other mods just to be sure. -
reported R-27R missing targets also as 27ER.

VSN flyable aircraft mods

I just downloaded the F9F Panther, a very beautiful model BTW, but after installing it into my Saved Games>Mods>aircraft folder, I can't get into the cockpit. I placed it on the USS Essex as a client flown a/c but no go. It is ver 2.8.7, am I missing an update? -
Hey, thanks for you feedback, I really appreciate . The Session02.Image01 is now published. For that session I move from option to option slowly and pointing out the differences.

@currenthill Sorry, I don't know if its just me or not, but I'm not getting any external sound on new assets. I don't have A-4, Blackhawk mods installed, those I know could give problems. Again, prob it's an easy fix, let me know if you had any other feedback like this, thanks a lot in advance. -
Balkans map will be a great addition to DCS! I‘m very excited! It would be nice if Balkans and Germany would come close together in coverage in the north.

This has been high in many players list. Mine included. A map that saw combat in the 90s. Which match a lot of the technology we have in DCS, even if aircraft models don't match. Within DCS limitations, we have F15, F14, F16, F18, Harrier(as long as she lasts) M2000(as long as she lasts) A6(when it comes) tornado (when it comes) MiG29, various helicopter, (all of them i would guess except the 50)

Thank you I appreciate the input from the team!!!!

I fail to see this question answered in FAQ, and i think it should be included What period is this map based on?

So most of Italy is in but in low details. Don't get me wrong, Rome didn't have anything to do with the war in the Balkans. But still will be odd flying over Italy and it will just be green textures.

Research mod for the Lockheed EC-121 Warning Star
Woogey replied to Michael-Fr's topic in DCS Modding
Its coming from Tetet and the Vietnam War Vessels team. Early days. 3d Model looks decent, textures not so much. I am sure they will get the textures refined, and if not, the community will help out after its released. -
Lo immaginavo da tempo immemore avessero in canna questo teatro xD

Please, please, PLEASE explain to me why the pilot is not allowed to see which target is a system target when DL is switched on! Why has the army installed a system that prevents the pilot from getting an overview of the situation that he already had without DL on? All the funny pictures, and to this day no one can explain to me why the pilot sees less, has less of an overview, cannot see at a glance on the radar display which targets are actually system targets and how many there are? What is the reason for expecting the pilot to do more work and increasing the risk, thereby increasing the danger of errors by the pilot? What is the reason why, with DL on, it is not possible in any situation to see a “hollow” “yellow” square to identify which track is a system track? Which ROE prevents the pilot from seeing which track is a system track with DL switched on? I really want to understand the system, but no one can explain to me why, with DL switched on, the situational overview is restricted and deteriorates. If possible, explain what I have to do to see which target has become a system target, or isn't a system target anymore. Currently, there is no way to get this and no logic behind all this behavior! Actual behavior: With DL on, "help" the pilot with disabling parts of the situational awareness and adding some button smashing. Really? I hardly believe DL should work this way! Edit: And just as an aside, some of the image descriptions are incorrect! In the image with DL off or IFF 2 times left, you can clearly see that one target is not a system target (third and fourth images from the top). There are a total of 10 targets, 9 system targets, one of which is bugged and one is just a tracked target! However, the next image explains that all 10 targets are system targets. How exactly can you tell? Assuming that while DL is on, additional targets are added that are tracked by the radar, how does the pilot now recognize which targets are not yet system targets? What happens if 3 of the previous system targets are not detected by the radar at the same time, and the targets visible to the pilot on the display are still 10? If all this happens while the pilot briefly looks at the HUD, how does the pilot recognize this change with DL on? How can the pilot recognize this important difference when both the tracked and system targets look the same, thick filled yellow squares? I have the feeling ED is unable to understand the issue!
