  2. Question. when trimming my plane on the elevator axis, the stick doesnt move like in any other warbird. Is this a bug ? A missing feature ? thanks
  3. did you download also the required Mandatory Co-Download, VF-24's Commanding Officer Jet? I don’t see it on your screenshot.
  4. F-22 has a central receptacle, whereas the -23 s on the port upper side above the intake.
  5. I guess I'm one of those that didn't get the instructions right. Here's where I dropped the zips: null And I don't see any new liveries in my mission editor? Can you offer some advice? EDIT: NVM, the zip inside the zip caught me off guard!
  6. That's hitting just about every genre. Kerbal Space Program community was kickstarted by incredibly simple art style of the early versions, allowing new parts to be made quick and easy, on top of a relatively simple game setup. Every time the quality standards went up, the number of new part mods shrank. Nowadays only a few are making top quality PBR assets. Art for modern games aiming for realistic visuals is extremely time consuming to create. Some UE5 games still manage to have a thriving modding community making assets for them, but even then, it's nothing like the massive modding communities of old. Now, we've seen a proliferation of games which deliberately forgo fancy visuals and use something more stylized, often making it easier to make assets, but it's not really an option for flight sims, which attempt to get as close to reality as they can, and graphics are part of it, too (see the endless discussions about spotting). And then, you get highly elaborate coding on top of that.
  7. Hi @currenthill I was wondering if someday you'll take into consideration some Cold War Era ground assets as well
  8. Did two tests just now with all Mods removed (I hope) and a clean logs folder. I've measured from the moment I clicked on the join server button: 1) Server "[PL] Gildia.org - Dynamic Range Germany (Cold War) PvE": DCS loads 2:40 minutes until "New sim post start" appears. This time it took ~2.5 minutes this time before it proceeded and i can select a coalition. Logs are attached as 1st_run.zip 2) Server "105th SSF | [GER] COMMUNITY SERVER": Same Germany CW map. After 45 seconds, the "New sim post start" appears. After a total of 1 minute, that's done and i can select a coalition. Logs are attached as 2nd_run.zip. Why does this sometimes take 2-3 minutes and sometimes (I assume) a normal few seconds only? The only thing I found in the logs which takes ~2.5 minutes is that one here: 2025-08-05 20:09:02.443 INFO WEATHER (Main): reset fog animation 2025-08-05 20:11:19.742 ERROR ED_SOUND (18140): can't load wave: "effects/weapons/automatic/warrior_distant_1.wav" That a mission thing? Thanks for any help! 1st_run.zip 2nd_run.zip

    Colors

Reshade to the rescue! I completely agree with most of the above, but personally I find DCS in general more on the lollipop side of the spectrum. But color perception is difficult to agree on and I‘m not the creator. So I don’t expect them to cater to my preferences. Feedback is given, and for the time being I adjust the colours via Reshade.
  10. Sorry, totally missed your reply. (And absolutly forgot about this topic, bin to busy with making controller profiles for DCS modules) I'l make a track tommorrow
  11. hm, narrowing field of view helps
  12. make a backup, and put this file into your bazar/effects/LUT folder, inside the game menu: color profile, choose the color called with the Orange 2 name.. should be much less comical green looking.. try it, just backup the ..tealorange2.png before overwritin'...
  13. theHACKERMAN Thanks for the detailed and well-done report, very nice first post effort. The team has replicated this report, and it is now reported. Thanks!
  14. you could post your miz file see if that sheds any light
  15. Why would you compile efm for this mod? Unless you are a developer there is no need . Please download full mod from: https://github.com/grinnellidesigns/f-22a/releases File: f-22a.zip (1.29GB) Version: v2.1.0 To get into cockpit you need: one way is to jump into f-15c mission first(for a second) then fly f-22a mission. the other way is to modify F-15C entry.lua. Check https://github.com/grinnellidesigns/f-22a?tab=readme-ov-file#important-note
  16. Bit of a risk but would any of these from Aliexpress work? https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-hp-reverb-g2-power-cable.html
  17. Today
  18. Yes, but Claude AI is better at the scripting. ChatGPT is better for brainstorming and prose writing. Claude writing the Lua for me is actually helping ME learn a bit of Lua. Cuz of course it generally needs bug testing and tweaking, so I gotta be able to read and understand what the code is doing to discuss it it Claude. ChatGPT keeps trying to code but just ... No. I keep telling it to stop, but it just won't. LOL
  19. So I've got this here mission I'm recreating. I had it working like half a year ago or so, maybe a year, and Win 10 took a dump on me and I had to wipe and reinstall. Lost everything on the C drive. Now I have a more solid plan cuz I know what I did, so it went quicker. Synopsis: Exfil a delta team from an insurgent held valley in the middle of the night, flying from eastern Lebanon to just inside the border of Syria. Claude AI helped (well mostly itself) wrote the random spawning script. I set about half the units to Alarm State Red, ROE Free, Disperse for 600s, the others also include Engage Air Weapons Yes and 100% Engagement Distance. The insurgents are armed with AKMs and RPGs, with a few AAA trucks roaming about. Both ChatGPT and Claude AI tell me that ground units can't attack air units with AKMs and RPGs. But I remember it working in the past when I tried. Claude tells me there was an AI behavior change. Yes? How can I get these gorram insurgents to fire on the helo? NOTE: Mission is currently set to be flown by AI, for testing. Spec Forces Extraction A06.miz
  20. I've yet to see it and now I will notice it and it will drive me up the walls, thanks!
  21. Also this was a link to download my Marianas Trains addon with simple install instructions - A Narrow gauge Steam Loco and 5 assorted wagons. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3345510/ Total waste of my time that was ! Theres been ZERO feedback so i guess the 223 users who downloaded the pack have not even bothered trying it out ! I suspect they are blissfully unaware and still using the Huge German Trains from the WW2 addon pack on the Marianas Narrow Gauge Track. There is an "unbeleivable negative Zero interest" in Me creating any Realistic Trains for DCS on this forum. I may as well just shut up shop now before i waste any more of my time uploading any more. Bye Bye !
  22. I use Kingston Fury Beast and it's fine. Currently running 4x16GB (had 32GB originally, decided to do a quick upgrade to 64GB), no problems with it. Reasonably fast and not too expensive. The nice thing about RAM is, if you ever run out, if your initial build had two cards, you can add another two of the same model and double your capacity with minimum fuss. The performance hit was negligible when I did so. Go for 64GB now, you can upgrade if it ever stops being more than enough.
  23. Yes, I have. Always won against those.
  24. Thank you for your advice and replies. I'll ask about one of them, as it piqued my interest: will I actually notice a difference between the "original" Kingston Fury Beast 6000 card and the model from the G. Skill catalog (matched to the motherboard)? I'm asking because I've always used Kingston memory in my previous computers (and at work) and haven't considered any other solution. I know that there was also talk about changing the number of gigabytes of RAM, but I was curious about the "new" manufacturer for me. Thank you. Of course, I'd love to see the specs for a proven setup (though I'm afraid it might be beyond my budget) – but it could be valuable advice.
  25. Cant wait for the release!
  26. Negative... Just tried that and switching slots while connected AFTER a slow repair of the server.... Thanks for the idea!
  27. I apologize for posting in a different thread about processors, but I've started considering new options (due to my budget and other planned computer needs) and want to make a decision relatively quickly. 1. I have a question (I know I'm asking about a cheaper and less powerful processor than the one most users use), but I assume this processor has a good price/performance ratio in my budget, so I'd like to be sure: Will using an Intel Core i5 14600K 3.5-5.3 GHz processor (working with an RTX 5700TI 16GB graphics card) significantly reduce performance in DCS? 2. One more (additional and more expensive) option: Will using a Ryzen 9 9900X 4.4-5.6 GHz be a significantly and noticeably better choice? I don't plan on using VR (I plan to play at lower resolutions)
