  2. There are sources that show exactly what we see in DCS, a square. what you have shown us is still an older software representation/solution. Nothing else you see in the A/A FCR a clean picture with nice symbols, everything nicely simplified for the pilot. Exactly this logic of representation was then also decided for the GMT, objects that move fast enough are recognized by the system and are displayed clearly as a square as it can be seen in Den Docs, I don't speak for ED either, but I assume that this was the orientation. And I will not post any documents here for obvious reasons.
  3. I used to be able to create massive storm with massive waves, but some update .. no more
  4. It’s indeed a not very well documented one, less talked about than Ploiesti or Schweinfurt. But an epic operation nonetheless a grandiose idea and cooperation between the allies. I didn’t always include the runway to use because sometimes the AI lamds on a different one than they use for takeoff it’s always a bit random. Check the smoke from the chimneys for the wind
  5. While the drag increase between the 2x PL-5 + 4x SD-10 loadout and the 2x PL-5 + 2x SD-10 + 2x GB-6 SFW loadout is only a 65% increase based on the Cx_pil values, that doesn't mean the aircraft will be 65% slower with drag being nonlinear relative to velocity. The reason why the GB-6 loadout "gets closer to its top end much faster" is because the ceiling speed limit for that loadout is lower than the 2x PL-5 + 4x SD-10 loadout, with the 2x PL-5 + 4x SD-10 loadout still having better acceleration. This comes down to general aerodynamics with the interaction between drag, thrust, and weight.
  6. Introducing AI_ATC for Kandahar AF (OAKN) on the Afghanistan map. In this video I demonstrate Interacting with AI_ATC using VoiceAttack, along with some of the basic functionality for Helicopters.
  7. Hi, can you attach the dcs log from the server and please check your spam folder for your forum registration email. It seems it is not activated yet. edit: I have activated you account so you should be able to reply directly here now thank you
  8. No problem, thank you for playing DCS, feel free to message or ask questions any time. If we have the answers we will try to help. thank you
  9. Hi, I'm happy to show the team this web page, but it does not look like data we can use, it needs to be a more official public source. thank you
  10. Hi, there are no plans I am aware of currently sorry.
  11. I started with Rift S (a second hand one, bought for $300) 4 years ago running on 10100F/16GB/GTX970 - still great experience, even with crappy res and low fps but not all would handle that I'm sure. With your rig I'd go for Quest 3 or even something better. Sound is there from the straps over the ears and it may be ok for casual gaming but we're talking DCS here - full simulation, immersion, right? You definitely want quality sound from the good headphones - just be careful as not all of them can fit around the straps. Me too, buddy, but some actually do come back to monitors for different reasons: VR nausea, monitor resolution and clarity, eyes and head comfort, full use of your custom cockpit equipment, watching at desk docs, using paper and pen...
  12. I put my thoughts/experiences from the DOF3 and DOF6 demo here: As mentioned in there, during the demo, I really wasn't that impressed, though I could certainly see the potential if it was possible to improve the response speed, and even more so whilst in VR. In the meantime, feels like a lot of dosh for something that might not really deliver, would require a re-think on the position of my current rig and I'm guessing will introduce a number of additional headaches with regard to maintenance of patches, interaction with my other sim bits etc. I think I'll be using the potential funds towards the next VR headset, whatever that might be.
  13. With Pimax Play Sharpness, DCS looks sharper. See the effect in DCS here: Pimax Play Sharpness On & OFF in DCS on the Pimax Crystal Super
  14. First of, make sure your plane is in the correct landing configuration. Speed brake out Gear down Flaps down DLC out All these things change the pitch of the aircraft, otherwise known as ANGLE OF ATTACK or AOA for short. Once that's all done, you want to get the AOA at the correct angle for landing. Which is 15 units of AOA. This is where the yellow donut comes in. When the aircraft is configured for landing, and the AOA is correctly set on the yellow donut, you are "ON SPEED". When that is achieved, you can adjust your glideslope simply by adjusting throttle. Less power makes you descend faster, more power less fast, and if you give it enough power you can fly level or even climb. All you have to do is set the Flight Path Vector (the circle with the 3 lines sticking out) on the runway, and adjust power to make a smooth landing. DLC helps with that too, but that's more for carrier landings where a more precise touchdown is needed. For now stick to runways.
  15. Thank you @MAXsenna. I do have the option enabled: But I'm still facing missing readouts that make me have to go back and forth the switch to read the actual position. Specially annoying with the flaps and the airbrakes.
  16. I agree, the promised AI J 35J Draken would go some way to help create a reasonably realistic Swedish Air Force in DCS. But given the choice I´d prefer an AI JA 37 Viggen over the Draken. Given that the AJS 37 we have is a 1990's aircraft, and by that time the Draken was used only by the F10 wing in Ängelholm in the south of Sweden (where they build the Koenigsegg hypercars today), which is very far from the area of Sweden present in the Kola map. (But on the other hand, not very far from the small part of Sweden included in the GCW-map!) If I get to wish some more, an AI SF 37 photo recce Viggen and an AI SH 37 maritime recce would be cool additions too. (Also, I´d love full modules of either, with working cameras, but lets be slightly more realistic)
  17. I would also like to see an update to the map. After all, it is a few years old map. The question is whether the update would bring the visual aspect of the Gulf closer to current maps. It is based on older technology and would require a lot of work and the result would not reach the current level. The same goes for the Caucasus and Nevada. Time is running out and development is moving forward. ED does not have the resources to upgrade old maps and another question is whether there would be any interest in it at all. In addition, the Iraqi map will also include part of the Persian Gulf.
  18. Try switching SSAO off in DCS
  19. Last night I dreamed (really!) about the solution to the issue, the funny thing is it actually works! Basically, I merged the two Export.lua files, enabling one program at a time and extracting the missing strings. At first, DCS-DTC only showed me the TACANs and WPTs working on the HSI, but it didn't load all the steerpoints, then it loaded everything correctly. Amazing.
  20. Today
  21. Well - in my case it eliminated the problem completely... It seems that everyone has very individual problems with PP and the Super.
  22. I think patches are a great idea because they give you something real to hold onto. In today’s digital world, having a tangible item like a velcro or sew-on patch adds a personal touch and makes the experience more memorable.
  23. Supercarrier FA-18C is it possible to take off again without needing to go to or be on a parking slot? After Trap, taxi off the landing strip, Parking Menu won't come up because not on Parking Slot, radioing Ground Crew will alert Catapult Crew but Request TakeOff from Ground Crew does nothing, blast board does not come up, request ReFuel does not help, Parking Brakes does not help etc. ?
  24. I think @doedkoettand @TOViperare both raising good points here. Without enough details, and enough information, the JA-37 could turn into something that's merely a lookalike rather than a good representation, but at the same time, FC level modules are still in use and are still great fun to fly. Having said that, I think the problem I have with the current AJS-37 IS the lack of the JA-37 in any shape or form. Flying missions out of Swedish airbases without fighter escort, or, with USAF F-15Cs or F-14Bs flying alongside as my escort, feels quite unusual and wrong. For the time being, I am using a mod to turn AI AJS-37 into AI JA-37, but it still isn't quite all it could really be. So I'd really like to see any JA-37 in the game, be it AI only or, preferably, at least an FC3 level module.
  25. I have the DOF H3. I would say the benefit of the 3rd sensor is quite apparent when flying helis or when you are taxing on the ground. Also dogfights in WWII you often use the rudder actively. Not so much in air in a modern jet maybe. So go for 3. Wrgt the seat I purchased this as part of the package. Tweaking SRS (the software controlling the motion rig) takes some time. There are some examples to be found, but I wish there was more profiles examples shared. The biggest challenge for me has been the motion compensation setup. Without this things become very strange in VR. I got it to work fine earlier, but with a newer version I'm still pondering on the configuration.
