Yeah, I always thought it was a three position switch. So no idea how to turn TWS completely off.

Hi gizmo, It mostly depends on what you use your PC for, and the sound outputs you have. For DCS only, your mobo integrated output is probably enough for DCS. If you watch vids/movies or listen to HR music you might want to go for either dedicated soundcard or USB dac, whatever is more convenient for you (no need to spend more than 150 for either option, exceot if you want to setup an Hi-Fi system ) Again it all depends of what you do with your new PC My soundcard is a Creative BlasterX AE-5 Plus, outputting to active speakers and it works great

It has been requested before, and the need has been acknowledged by ED. Funny thing is, that on my end the MiG-29’s cockpit is a mix of metric and imperial: HSI says miles but is using kilometres, fuel gauge says NM but is using KM, airspeed indicator is in KPH, true airspeed indicator is in knots, radar altimeter is in feet This truly shows how poorly thought out the system is, and highlights the need for special options. Or they simply could have left the system as is was, then it would have worked perfectly, instead of trying to make an ‘80s Soviet aircraft display imperial units…

C-130J First Impressions by Growling Sidewinder
carbolicus replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: C-130J
Looks like this will be amazing! Thanks to an RAF mate, years ago I flew the C130J full motion simulator, which is supposed to be so faithful to the real thing that the OCU course was mostly done in the simulator. As Growling Sidewinder says, take-off is tricky until you get used to it due to the strong yaw forces from the powerful prop torque. If you have only flown jets in DCS then may not be expecting this. I flew relatively powerful prop aircraft when I worked as a bush pilot so I was expecting to need a lot of rudder in the C130J, but the amount needed did surprise me. Growling Sidewinder was also using aileron to help correct, which isn’t ideal, hence dipping a wing on take-off. I also found my old ATC logbook recently; I logged about 20 hours of flying in C130Ks as a 14 to 16 year old cadet, mostly on the flight deck standing behind the captain’s seat or sitting on the rest bunk at the back. One trip was a low-level cross country through the mountains of Scotland; we were third in a line-astern formation of 10 Hercs; absolutely unforgettable. I also remember on one trip being in the freight hold whilst dropping supplies out the back, low-level at RAF Hullavington. It was those experiences, plus flying in Chipmunks and Kirby Cadet gliders, which got me set on an aviation career. So for all sorts of reasons this module is a must-have for me! -
I will also add that there is some suggestion that the Serbian MiGs were not pure 9.12s but hybrids with some aspects of the 9.13 in them. This means that we are also missing information on what these fighters had for systems and what might be different from ours. But as I stated, this is not enough info to report a bug, sorry.

Did you try the target unlock button? In any case, I’d not treat the system as TWS/RWS, but simply as a soft auto-target feature to ease pilot workload - so you don’t have to operate the TCS (which is on the stick) and fly the aircraft manually at the same time.

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
spikef22 replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
I'm SO excited for all the new Chinese air assets. I think after that comes out we'll have all the mettle to make modern neer peer Apache missions! -
After placing the switch down the Square Acq box is there indicating TWF still in force. Seems to me there should perhaps be a third centre position of the switch TWF OFF. TWF switch Up according to the video tuts is FHS optimized for head on targets and RHS for Tail on targets.

Post A-10 and KA-50 the study level stimulation in DSC had been degraded. You can see it in both F-16 and F-18 modules where failures are extremely basic or not done at all. I think either Wags or NineLine / BN once mentioned that a very small portion of their customers would benefit from those. So it's not worth their time developing.

It does not accept keyboard or joystick inputs.

Deleting the MissionEditor folder solved the issue. Thank you. -
I don’t remember it being covered in Wags’ video, but I’d imagine simply flipping the switch back down again will allow you to resume manual target selection instead of letting the WCS take care of that. How did you determine that? By the target box still being around the initial radar contact, or by not being able to move the target box (TDC) around manually?
-
yes OK TWF v TWS (transliteration) but the question remains how to get back to RWS or deselect TWF ?
-
Voi vi volete fare male a tutti i costi, vero? In quale lingua del mondo potreste capire che non vedremo mai alla luce un Topone volatile su dcs?
-
It’s track-while-fly (TWF), not track-while-scan (TWS). It’s basically just the equivalent of an L&S target, or a track file that the WCS generates based on which contact it seems most urgent (based on closure speed and angle-off, I bet).

Anytime, Baby! - F-14 Docu-Campaign Announcement
Reflected replied to Reflected's topic in Community News
Man, they need to release the early A, the late B, and Iraq south before I can start finalizing the campaign, and THEN it will take months before I can even submit to ED. -

Share a track if it happens again and we can take a look. -
Confused with TWS to RWS switching. If I have the WCS in RAD I am in RWS with the rectangular Acq box. I select the TWS switch up to the FHS position I then see the square Acq box ... so I am now in TWS. How do I go back directly to RWS ? placing the TWS down to the RHS position still leaves me in TWS.

M8 AAR Issue
Sandman Simulations replied to kriztoefur's topic in DCS: F/A-18C Operation Mountain Breeze Campaign
It might be just as you said. Left one is used first and if the lead has already finished it is possible you need to use left one. -
. Hi, Does this happen while flying on a 4YA server? If so, try to spawn on another, non 4YA server. I had the same issue on 4YA. However when I spawned on an Aerbatics Europe server, all was well and I could align the gyros and the HSI and the ADI functioned normal.

VANOIS started following ACS test fails with G940 FFB
-
Sorry, if this has been discussed before, but I'm having a terrible time with this. I can't complete the ACS test on the MiG-29, if the joystick has FFB. I turn on the ACS, and the virtual stick and the real stick (Logitech G940 joystick with force feedback) start moving. At some point, the process freezes, and all the lights on the ACS panel start blinking. It says not to touch the stick, but it seems like it's "touching" itself because of the force feedback. I tried increasing the dead zones, as a friend in a related thread suggested, but the process freezes even earlier, and almost immediately all the lights start blinking. If anyone has the same joystick, please tell me how you resolved this. Tech support suggests disabling FFB, but that's unacceptable
