  3. The Dream Air SE looks interesting. Far more sensibly priced, higher res than the QP, Eye Tracking and a DPMI connection. No, it's not got the mega res of the full fat Dream Air, but that might be a good thing in DCS, as it'll be easier to run. I'll be looking out for reviews on that.
  4. Installing a customized cockpit folder, to %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\Cockpit_AH-64D only works, if the folder is named 'Default' i.e. \Cockpit_AH-64D\Default. If any other name is used, it always results in the original cockpit textures being applied.
  5. Well, you have tables with the limits. If you don't want to kill your engines, you need to know the limits. And then it's just adjusting MP/RPM/blower to stay within engine operating limits and working the 3 cooler handles to keep the Oil, Cylinder and Carburetor temp within the limits. There is not much else a tutorial is able to teach you other than know the limits. If cylinder head temp gets too hot you can either increase speed, lower MP or open the cowl flaps. If carburetor temp gets too hot you can increase speed, change blower or open the intercooler flaps. If oil gets too hot you can increase speed, lower MP or open the oil cooler flaps. If you are at full throttle and MP keeps dropping, you must adjust blower. Just to mention a few examples. If the temps get too cold you can obviously do the opposite Look at the table on the left wall for general engine operating limits. They are probably in the manual too if you want to print it/not snap your neck.
  6. Read the included manual, and read real-world handbooks, and you’ll be good. Goggle “Corsair POH” and you’ll find a real handbook. Also, watch all of Reflected’s videos pinned in the forum. You can also download my checklists here and follow them, and you should be good , but you still need the knowledge of how the aircraft works by reading the documentation mentioned above. This module, like most, is very in depth and requires some studying before you hop into the cockpit. I would also suggest finding a MP group that appeals to you, one where people are flying the Corsair. The community is very friendly and someone will take you up on an invaluable training flight.   7. Hi. just to share a simple way to point Shkval at a known target in mountain areas,some of u may already known,but in case u don't 1. A known target,u need to know it's coordinates and elevation(in this case,the target(actually a friendly LAV25)is at 579m) 2.Enter it via PVI-800,as a target point,and select it via PVI-800.(note PVI800 uses Lat Long Decimal Minutes format,u can use LALT+Y to change the coordinates format displayed on the F10 map) 3.check ur local QNH,ur can check briefing in most case,but if the mission is using dynamic weather,u may want to find it urself.(ie.landing on a place which elevation is known,and set cockpit altimeter to match the ground elevation,then the altimeter pressure setting will be ur QNH) 4.use any calculator(u can find a lot via google),input target elevation and QNH(lines), convert them into target QFE (circle) (meter and mmHg is used for ka50) 5.Input the target QFE in ur cockpit altimeter 6.!!!!!!FLY ABOVE 300 METERS AGL!!!!! (VERY IMPORTENT,since when above 300m AGL the yellow Shkval LOS line drawn on the ABRIS will use cockpit altimeter as the altitude reference,when below 300m AGL,radar altimeter reading will be used,u won't want that unless the terrain is perfectly flat,in that case just starting from step7) 7.uncage Shkval,since u can't enter altitude via PVI800,it will point at mean sea level,the target is lined up only horizontally,u need to adjust on vertical direction by urself. 8.focus on the ABRIS,adjust Shkval vertically,until the end of "yellow Shkval LOS line" is merged with the "blue target box",DON'T use laser rangefinder through out the whole process. 9.Bingo.(note the more altitude difference between u and the target,the more accurate it will be,also there will be some heading error due to INS drift) also after u have found the target u can use range finder to make Shkval LOS fixed at it's position.
  8. This issue one would have thought they should have caught for sure with beta testers playing normally. I'm reasonably proficient with the ME and it too me longer than a minute to set it all up and boot into it. If you had bothered to post a track I wouldn't have needed to. And with the details you provided it definitely wasn't clear that it happened in all aircraft/with all weapons (saying you tested this extensively is meaningless because it could have been variations on the same specific combinations of aircraft that had an issue where others might not have). It baffles my mind why people are so completely resistant to posting a track when they say they've tested it extensively. Just hit save track and post the freaking thing. Honestly it's just the polite thing to do so somebody else doesn't have to spend time recreating it. And this "yahoo" definitely won't be posting tracks for you next time when you have that attitude. The number of times people have tested stuff that's broken, but when they do post a track it's user error.....

  12. Okay, I managed to successfully complete this mission on my third attempt. I simply waited for Weasel 41 to hit the first APC and then attacked the second one. This time it worked. Interestingly, Weasel 41 previously destroyed the APC in the east, and now in the south, so it's completely different. I have no idea why. However, someone already mentioned it here in this mission, some of our units are too close to being hit:
  13. They seem to occasionally react to AIM-54 and R-77, but not always. It's difficult to tell when it's the AI launching against other AI because it sometimes fires 54s as Fox1. The R-77 also usually is launched in STT by the AI. STT locks cause the AI to react for both the 54 and 77, but not the 120.
  14. This asset pack also needs to have FOB buildings, especially LAMS-A. Some of the FOBs on the map have them preinserted on the map but it's not an option under static objects to get the FOBs to match their real-life version.
  15. Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it! I certainly hope this is a bug, the "Effects" string is coming out of the mission lua and I don't have another source for that value. What I mean is, I'm not running the method with values I'm providing, they are coming from an external source. I know there are differences between how the mission stores statics and what the addStaticObject method takes, but if you're correct, I'd be in a pretty bad place. Thanks again and let me know if you discover anything else, I'll do the same!

  17. Any idea if whoever designed this will work on the M model at all? The L is great, but the M is the new hotness. Perhaps even the MH-60M DAP with the LASS wings and all the new goodies on the MH versions...Or am I just too hopeful? Lol
  18. Thanks for your positive feedback. That is reassuring. It is often the case that the minority shouts the loudest. I have the impression that Pimax really wants to create a product aimed at DCS users. I respect that. At the moment I am not sure which is the best headset to get. The Super sounds great (all 3' versions) but the upcoming Dream Air and SE version are also very interesting.
  19. Occasionally. Also, probably related, if there is a 2v2 and it becomes a 2v1, the extra AI aircraft will just orbit and watch the other 1v1. It will not attempt to attack the remaining single ship unless its wingman dies, at which point it actually engages. This seems to be mostly a WVR issue but is hard to decipher in BVR/Fox3 tests. It appears the AI logic will split groups into 1v1s if they start with even counts, but is blocked from ganging up if the odds are not even. It's highly frustrating to watch a free wingman that could easily get a shot on the hostile in the other 1v1 just orbit until/unless his buddy dies. I just watched 10 different runs of 2v1 Mig21s or Mig19s against a single F4. Not once did the wingman take a single shot at the F4 in any of those runs despite several times being in perfect position to do so. DCS AI is not good at handling multi aircraft groups which is probably why the scripted features in MOOSE almost always use single aircraft groups by default.
  20. is there a fix for Op. Reforger 2 mission 5(chemical factory bombing). I vaguely remember that there was a fix and that there is something wrong with trigger after the bombing run, jester sends message good effect on target and we receive clear rtb. I flew to the tanker and then to the 2 lakes on the coast south-west of the base, took a turn following the coast at 4000ft until incirlik is at my 3 o'clock and turned to the base but I have never received call from the tower...

  27. I also encountered this after latest patch patch. The issue was with sd-10, aim-120b and aim-120c. But AI fighters do defensive maneuvers against the R-77. I did not test it with the AIM-54A/C.
