I'm happy for you, and also me since you've confirmed I'll eventually be happy with the results. Enjoy the skies, brother!

Crossmann started following F/A-18C Terrain Avoidance AG radar mode
-
Summary of Issue The newly implemented Terrain Avoidance (TA) radar mode in the F/A-18C appears to lack inertial stabilization. The radar beam orientation remains fixed relative to the aircraft’s body axis (pitch) rather than being INS-stabilized relative to the horizon, which causes erroneous terrain depiction when the aircraft is not in level flight. Observed Behavior When the aircraft changes pitch (e.g., climbs at +10°), the radar beam follows this change: The scanning pattern shifts upward, no longer referencing the terrain ahead as relative to the horizon. The TA page under-reports or omits terrain elevation returns, particularly those that were previously marked as dangerous (lime color for terrain above aircraft). This creates a false sense of safety, as terrain hazards may disappear from the display simply due to the pitch angle. Expected Behavior In real-world terrain avoidance and following systems: The radar scans with beam angles stabilized against an earth-referenced frame, using INS attitude data. Terrain is detected and classified based on its absolute elevation relative to the horizon and current aircraft altitude, not pitch-relative attitude.

I've seen a lot of "in progress" shots for sims like DCS and the upcoming Combat Pilot that show the full internal skeletal structure being modeled, along with internal components (guns, fuel tanks, etc.). I'm curious what the standard actually is for level of detail for the structural framework and internal bits. Is it "just enough" to establish the layout of the skeletal structure? Or is there a particular level of fidelity being used even for the parts that wouldn't be visible?

Making DCS Accessible for Blind Players – A Realistic Proposal
travissgrey replied to Dataaja95's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Asking out of curiosity, and I hope that it won’t sound rude. First of all I’m impressed to see that blind players can fly on civilian flight simulators, impressive stuff which is new for me, never thought that it was a thing. But here comes the real problem, unlike Flight Simulator, DCS is a military focused sim where the actual objective is not a smooth flight from point A to B, and the use of an eventual autopilot is very limited. You have to pay constant attentions to several sensors, using targeting pods, manipulating your radar every 10 seconds, visually checking the environment around you to spot targets and threats (both on the ground and in the air) while flying your aircraft often VERY slow and VERY fast. It requires you a big amount of situational awareness. From my actual understanding, I really struggle seeing how this could be solved. -
Thanks for the great work. NOTE: github.com/TeTeT.VietnamWarVessels.base.2.0.0 - produced an empty .zip folder after a several minute D/L. However, drive.google.com D/L of the same file worked fine, as did the github.com/TeTeT.VietnamWarVessels.liveries.2.0.0 Thanks again. Bowie

I mean that can happen if you whack your head against the glass on the inside of the canopy.
-
I agree, its not the Sniper, its other pods that are not adjusted for time frame. I doubt ATFLIR doesn't lose on image quality when zoomed in back in 2005 (hornet time frame), which is the case now in the hornet.

Same issue as the Viggen, needed to double-click the mouse scroll wheel to toggle coickable cockpit. Annoying but fixable. in DCS/Mods/aircraft/FU-4D/Input/Mouse/ create a backup of default.lua file then add line 14 and disable or delete line 13

Motorways cannot be used as a road air strip
Rick Mave replied to Blackbahia's topic in Bugs and Problems
Idk if you guys are aware, but it does seem like Ugra is planning on implementing at least one of the NLPs (Notlandeplätze). The first one already in the map is the NLP Adelsheim, on which I have posted a bug report for already. You can find the bugreport here: I will also create a topic where people can collect and post all of the NLP locations which seem relevant soon. Bye! -
Why do I need the "Switch side" command on a Tape Player?
Despayre replied to ASW's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Thanks, a large part of my day job includes programming and tweaking small things, so I just prefer not to trust other programmers when I don't have to. It's quick, efficient, and I know exactly what it's doing, but I don't "generally" have a problem with mod managers for ppl that aren't so inclined. -
Hi, the issue is a dcs core one and reported but unfortunately restricting head movement in vr can be jarring for some users and create nausea, so we are still considering options. A fade effect may be the best option, however currently it is low priority. thank you
-
First of all, I think it's a cool bit of immersion that in VR you can actually stand up in the cockpit. I did it last night after landing aboard the carrier to watch the other planes come in, and I could almost FEEL my hand on the canopy frame for balance. Or being able to lean around the windscreen when the canopy is open (especially with how the sound of the engine/propeller and wind changes). The problem is, the pilot's head view doesn't appear to be getting properly restricted when the canopy is CLOSED. It's possible to put your head through it if you lean far enough to the side (I haven't checked yet to see if you can still "stand").

I've changed CPU to a 9800X3D and this is still an issue. I have 64Gb 6000MT/s RAM, a 4080 (16Gb) and a gen 4 NVME Drive dedicated to DCS.

The detent doesn't work. Whether because it's not set up yet, or by design. If you go into the control bindings for the Corsair, there's a separate bindings for Water Injection On and Injection Off. These need to be assigned to either a keyboard button, or a button on your HOTAS (I programmed virtual buttons on my CH quadrant so I could bind it to throttle position).

Agana Field, Guam - Taxi Routeing South of the strip - A/C are directed back to the South parameter taxiway and the end of the takeoff queue. North of the strip - A/C are directed down the strip, into the takeoff queue, causing a bottleneck jam and usually stoppage. A similar routeing back to the North parameter taxiway and the end of the takeoff queue would solve the issue. Thanks for the great map. Bowie

The new patch significantly improves stability, especially in the yaw axis. She's no longer fishtailing all over the sky, but rudder authority is still strong (as it should be considering it's a big honkin' rudder).

Problem is solved. (Have a look at this topic in winwing) Icons were removed by DCS since the last update. Luckily I still had them in a backup and copied them to my actual installation.

You're right, we don't. No evidence work hadn't resumed and no evidence it did either. And given RBs previous comms style of trying to steer the narrative then I'd be astounded if they had some work ready to ship and hadn't mentioned it.
