Deck Crew AI directing me on to blocked cat.
Rolds replied to DmitriKozlowsky's topic in Bugs and Problems
Could we maybe get the ability to manually connect to a catapult back to work around this vexing problem???!!! OR request which cat we will be directed to? -
With scripts like CTLD + CSAR, you can enable the Apache to transport infantry. Keeping the number of individuals loaded to 2, it can be realistic too

Permanent canopy reflection on right side regardless of lighting level, angle or direction. Canopy reflections turned off in special options, appears on both transparent and tinted canopy. Images and track file attached. This is a big issue if trying to spot an opponent. F-16 Canopy artifact.trk

My initial findings are kind of mixed. I'm not seeing much difference, if any, at all. But, just initial. I'll keep testing.

I’m at 2400 RPM starting like 10 miles out from landing, all the way down to the ground. Set it at 2400 and leave it. 2300? 2500? Doesn’t matter. Pick one you like, set it for landing and don’t touch it. Come into the pattern at 120 kts. After your upwind to downwind break, go full flaps, gear down, and 10 deg of elev trim as I mentioned before. SLOWLY adjust the throttle so that your climb rate is steady at zero. Do not use elevator to adjust your altitude. This is important. If you aren’t hands free by the time you are abeam the landing point. It’s going to get ugly for base and final, so just extend your downwind during these practice runs and make sure you are stable before coming around. You want to be able to arc to the runway to see over the nose, so the extended downwinds will hurt you, but don’t worry about that for your training. Getting the plane stable for landing is more important. With the 10 deg of elev trim, you’ll find yourself right at 90-100 knots. Again, don’t touch the elevator, only the throttle. You mentioned your airspeed is all over the place before touchdown. This is because you are using your elevator stick to try and keep yourself on desired glide slope. Just remember basic slow flight rules: “Pitch for airspeed, throttle for altitude.” Once you get this in your veins, you won’t even look at your manifold, that’s why I haven’t answered that question until now. Just keep the throttle where needed to maintain altitude on the upwind/downwind, and then play with it very gently in base to final turn. Again, your plane almost automatically holds 90-100 knots with 10 deg of trim, so you don’t even have to look at your instruments. Keep eyes on runway and other traffic in pattern. Just be cognizant that if you touch the elevator stick, your airspeed will change. In your head think, “Stick centered, I know I’m at the right speed. Pulled stick back, I know I’m too slow.” You hardly have to look at your airspeed or manifold once you get it. Now for your nose swinging all over the place: Everything in your landing needs to be smooth. Really smooth. Very small changes to pitch or throttle. You can’t just jam things around like in jets. And here’s the tip that will help you the most: Your right foot must follow your left arm. Push right rudder any time you push throttle forward, and vice versa. This also applies in flight, not just for landings. Practice practice practice. Let me know how it goes. I know you’ve got this! Cheers

"stuttering" can mean too many variables, would just try testing and hope u get whats causing this fixed. i got stutters and the game felt unplayable w/ a i9 5090 ddr5. randomly tried "unparking cores" and instantly all stuttering was gone. i believe this was only a intel issue, when this came about, im not sure. i personally leave all pc settings stock, pagefile let windows manage it and just keep hardware firmware updated, bios etc.

It's the second best choice purely for gaming (the 9800X3D being the best). It's weak relative to the price for multithreaded productivity software, if you use that. -

Oh, I'm pleasantly surprised. Good thing.

I use it daily with a finger mouse (slugmouse). It works great, never tried the in game hand tracking. I should compare.

Is this working for anyone in 2025? Here's where I'm at: I just confirmed again by messing with the NS430 via DCS-Bios Ref tool (BORT) and it seems to be working. Just not sure now where that leaves me with the NS430.lua According to the last edit in the Reddit thread, it stated I didn't need it (NS430.lua ) because of the DCS flight Panel fork....but I don't know what that means. Running DCS Flight Panel, and the "connect serial port.cmd" which is registering the inputs, but they won't translate into DCS....here is where I'm stuck. Thanks in advance!

Keep your control panel options default. Exceptions are: fps limiter. Turn up your pagefile to 30gb on a fast drive (SATA or NVME SSD). Your DCS log pointed at 9gb pagefile. Run DCS from the 'bin' folder. Your DCS log points at the .exe inside 'bin-mt' being run. That was for the times where Multi Threading was being tested optionally. You don't need to crank up the preload radius. You can give it a try on 60k to 80k range. I find strange to be mandatory a large custom pagefile if you want to run DCS, but it has been the standard practice if encountering stutters on a good system like yours.

I am the same, I am getting a bit overrun with all the complexities of the jets, take my hat off to the pilots but to be honest they dont spend 8 hours a day writing contracts then try and learn to fly in their spare time. I actually wanted a module like this in DCS because I dont like MSFS, it never seems right. The DCS World always feels authentic and whilst I dont doubt this will be a complex beast looking at the cockpits, MFDs and those Data Input panels the A-10 has (sorry forgot the name MCDU??) I like the idea of learning to fly a Herc, my mate was a Loady on the C-130 and he always used to say "low and slow is the only way to go" spending 6 hours plus transiting from the UK to Cyprus or wherever I didnt agree with him!

Oh, I figured out the issue now, the pilots have to steer the hud reticle to the cpg crossing, and then there will be launch approval. otherwise it won’t shoot

Campaign Review: "Through the desert dust"
Yurgon replied to HIGHLANDSPRING's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
I hope it's okay if I hijack the thread and add my own mini review. I just finished the campaign and I love it. Awesome entertainment, brilliant mission design, great immersion. I particularly liked the crowded skies in the later missions that conveyed this feeling of "Holy cow, that's a lot of aircraft and there's gotta be a lot of fighting going on here, I'm just a tiny part in a large war". If I had 3 wishes, these would be: Different air pressures. Hard to believe that it's always exactly 29.92 inHg in Afghanistan over an entire fighting season. FARPs that allow for rearming and refueling, especially in the longer missions with (relatively) many hostiles. A voice for the player. I understand writing dialog, adding VOs and subtitles is a ton of work. It just felt odd that James would do all the talking while Leo was always mute. Don't force players to use a particular weapon or tactic. (Yes, that was item 4 out of 3, I know ). I said it before, I'll say it again, this campaign is top notch. If you could get voice actors to record all the lines of dialog, this would be 100% payware material IMHO. Thank you YoYo, amazing work! -

Mission 8 part 2 bugged.
Pipes replied to Pipes's topic in DCS: A-10C Operation Agile Spear Campaign
Yes I did. Once I landed at Senaki I taxi to the end of the runway, and I see the rearming\refueling trucks moving to their respected locations. But the Follow Me vehicle just stays stationary. on the taxiway. -

Warbird pilots, are you looking for a squadron to fly with? We’ve been a squadron for quite some time, but now we have 4 servers running that we use regularly to refine our skills. All of our servers start with the same name… WWII_ACE_ … You can run a search and make a favorite of all four. We are very laid back and shoot each other text messages when we go online - if this sounds good to you, please join our discord (link below) and one of us will make contact so we can meet up in the air! We also use SRS for communications. Can help you set that up. Looking forward to flying with you! |41| ChuckIV - EBC https://discord.gg/WM7KdV5Skb
