Well, try it out. Do they land when you remain on your parking spot? Do they land when you move on the Apron? Do they land when you are at the threshold? Do you line up at the correct threshold? Did ATC give you any instructions prior? Etc. Etc. It takes a bit of time but if you do step by step you can figure it out what the trigger is.

I agree 100%. I don't mind waiting for the finished product and prefer they take their time and do it well. What doesn't sit well with me is being ghosted for months at a time. We're coming up to almost a year since their last progress video where they showed off their F-104 and F1M progress.

So it did happen again. METAR says bad weather and not a cloud in the sky. Here's the MIZ file. Don't judge my mission choices. I can send the whole campaign zipped up if you want. It's really just the Eagle over Caucasus modified to fly the new MiG-29 and a few other changes I made for personal taste. MiG-29 Over Caucasus_first.miz

AI Aircraft refuses to land
RubberDogSh1tOutOfHKG replied to RubberDogSh1tOutOfHKG's topic in Mission Editor
They stay in the pattern. Only way to get them to land, that I have found so far is to take off myself. Im thinking there must be some logic that triggers them to hold until I am gone. I just wonder where that logic triggers? -
I (think) I have installed everything correctly-when installing and integrating Whisper Attack, it says to "disable speech recognition" in Voice Attack (or duplicate messages would be sent. When I disable speech recognition in Voice Attack it basically disables my microphone. Voice Attack no longer "hears" anything from my mic. What am I doing wrong?

В чём суть FFB на РУД ?

But who's talking about a nuclear warhead here? We're familiar with the ED approach. A conventional shaped-charge warhead (500kg) is all that's needed.

Starting from C&D mode and moving resets the navigation
YoYo replied to YoYo's topic in Bugs and Problems
@BIGNEWY, Maybe it's time for the topic to get Reported status and for the team to work on this issue as well? -
Manual mentions 4-7 degrees as optimal AOA. If I follow the maximum range speeds I end up with 4 degrees AOA down low and 6-7 up high

Guns: Can't lock target while holding 1st trigger detent
AeriaGloria replied to Lixma 06's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
The difference is radar vertical scan takes 2.2 seconds to lock and just as long to scan the whole scan zone. IRST vertical scan scans the whole zone in 0.4 seconds ands locks in 1.5 seconds - Today

I'm reading this topic with great interest. I'm well versed in Soviet civil aviation, especially navigation systems, but I'm not an expert on military aviation. The MiG-29 was my dream plane since the mid-1990s, and I even bought a SEGA just for it. As for the level of electronics in the USSR, I got a color TV in the early 1990s. Nowadays, due to sanctions, Russian-made cars don't have ABS, automatic transmissions, or airbags. They don't even have electric windows. Therefore, I trust the DCS developers. You have to fly, enjoy, and learn how to use what you have.

Yes, that was the default configuration. They could potentially be configured with a conventional warhead for export, apparently.

Did you do the Winchester call? Also, did the bombers launch? Also, shooting down 10 bombers, it's a bit far-fetched

Guns: Can't lock target while holding 1st trigger detent
Lixma 06 replied to Lixma 06's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Update! IR Close Combat Mode - Cannot (re)lock target while in 1st stage trigger detent. RAD Close Combat Mode - Can (re)lock target while in 1st stage trigger detent! I can't think why the two modes (IR Close Combat, RAD Close Combat) would behave so differently when they're essentially doing the same job. Here's a vid attempting to show what's happening. In RAD Close Combat mode I lock up the target via the vertical gates, switch to guns (1st detent), and then proceed to unlock (funnel appears) and re-lock the target a few times, all while remaining in 1st detent. Everything works as expected. Next I switch out of RAD and into IR Close Combat. I lock up the target okay, switch to 1st detent, then un-lock the target which brings up the funnel. I then attempt to re-lock the target as before but nothing happens. I try long presses, short presses, swearing. Nothing works. I have to release 1st detent to return to vertical gates and then start over. Another oddity is that RAD Close Combat takes a couple of seconds to lock the target, while the IR CC is suspiciously instantaneous. -
You're probably better off upgrading to Windows 11 anyway, you'll find it's recommended for DCS due to better performance, especially with Intel chips. I'm not sure if your plan is to bring your MFDs into the game with you, but I have never heard Windows Mixed Reality Link being used for this (don't know if supported for OpenXR games). Do you have sources for that information if that's what you were intending? Folk who normally do this do it via OpenKneeboard (creating coloured sections for chromakey passthrough) and Virtual Desktop.

This is great practice, helping me get my head around the radar. Love it, thanks!

Same here, I'm struggling a lot to get the AI to attack. Lots of dry runs , pullouts, and flying away randomly.

Rule of thumb when hurting on gas and trying to get home: Max range at any Altitude set 4 deg Alpha power as required to maintain level flight (nil wind) Max endurance at any Altitude set 5-6 deg Alpha power as required to maintain level flight. For Max performance in both be at Optimum altitude/ Which will vary as a function of Drag Index and weight but be in the 30,000's roughly.

GunnerFlyboy started following Malwarebytes change - DCS wouldn't start

I encountered a strange issue. One day, I was flying DCS without issue, and the next day, the sim wouldn't start. I'm sharing this to let people know a solution since there has been a change in my Malware protection capabilities. First, to describe the issue, the DCS.exe would be present in the task manager, and you could see it start loading memory. The memory used/loaded was about 106-8.2 MB... When DCS didn't show any CPU activity, I would kill the process and start again. Through the process of elimination, I found that Malwarebytes had an update between when it worked and when it didn't, no splash screen, nothing. The only way to figure out that there was a problem was to watch the boot sequence of DCS in the task manager. The specific setting had to do with Settings -> Protection -> Exploit protection (and the sub item "Block potentially malicious email attachments"). I turned off the Exploit protection in Real-Time Protection. There is no log to attach, as there was almost no log. It got to the login tasks, and that is where it died. I hope this helps someone.

I think I fixed the issue with the keys not binding. I had to copy the program 2024_TFHT_1.exe from my old computer to my new one. This is the Thrustmaster Control Panel program that allows you to enable virtual buttons. There is no documentation on the Thrustmaster support site that states that this is a required program to get the full functionality if the TQS throttle, nor is there any link to this file on the TQS support page as to where to download this program. I down loaded this program on 2024 and it looks like it was discontinued. The only software to download for the TQS Throttle is the TARGET software, and I never used it on any of my Thrustmaster joysticks. Luckily I had a second computer with this program installed. If it works, I will mark this post as solved, but I working on this issue for 8 hours and its time to sleep. I also have an other issue where the landing gear knob is loose and just touching it causes the the up button to turn off which should not happen since I didn't do the full swing of the level to the down position. Note that this is a new joystick replacement for my old one. This is the last time I buy a Thrustmaster product.

DCS Not Showing In Quest Link Apps
Desert Drydock replied to Desert Drydock's topic in Virtual Reality
sleighzy I learned that Windows 10 won't work to support mixed reality in the Quest 3S this afternoon and was confirmed by meta support. The main reason I'm coming back to DCS and VR is because mixed reality has finally caught up to my past hopes of having a basic simpit meshed with VR. I bought a Quest 2 when it first came out, it was awesome for flying but irritatingly awkward for trying to find the correct switch or button by feel, like MFD operation. -
Take screenshots. I make all my videos with the intention that people can take screenshots to save all the info

Continuation of this issue: In some situations the issue has been resolved, but it still exists with certain unit/livery combinations.
