If you haven’t already then add the below lines to your C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS\Config\autoexec.cfg file, create it if it doesn’t exist. DLSS_Preset = 'K' HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true This will use the latest DLSS preset, which will reduce some of the ghosting. DCS currently uses C by default even though it’s on one of the latest DLSS versions. The second line will mean that DLSS is not applied to the MFDs / HUD so you don’t get the ghosting there that DLSS can introduce. Try with DLAA as well.

I've been using Claude 4 Sonnet with extended thinking. Many of the errors are in modules that aren't mods. I had a box that needed tuning and OC and undervolting to be able to run most scenarios. It actually goes and reading the forums and other sites that have data related troubleshooting data. It took test flights in three different scenario sizes large (~2000 objects), medium (~1000), and small (~500). It was able to determine not only what errors mattered, it could give guidance on OC and undervolting the CPU and GPU. I even asked it the build components for a new machine. Now I use it for all flights where there is any issue.

investigating Petrovich cannot see targets on Cold War Germany map
Reslox replied to grusche's topic in Bugs and Problems
The way I get around this annoying issue is flying close enough for petrovich to see the targets without the aid of the ATGM scope. Once he reports seeing the target you can fly away to a safe distance and tell petro to aim at the targets (assuming you survived flying close enough in the first place). -
Aim120 can be trashed with a barrel roll and chaff headon
Reslox replied to GRY Money's topic in Weapon Bugs
The only Gifs, tracks or tacviews I've seen so far are performing an aileron rolls and not barrel rolls, it's really clear that it is a bug that MP desync exacerbates but its also present in single player. Documents of both recommended defense maneuvers and missile performance show clearly displacement of (over 100m in the defense maneuver docs) of both the horizontal and vertical plane when performing High G Barrel Rolls is necessary, so to claim that this maneuver is an effective means of defense when there is barely any displacement of the actual flight path is naive at best. Whether this is a consequence of how radar returns are modeled or last second missile guidance corrections cocking up at the last second is for ED to figure out. I speculate from the tracks and tacview footage provided in the thread that the missile is trying to lead and intercept the target's current flight path even though with the closure rate, current distance, and the target being in the center of the seeker should be a clear hit with a pure pursuit. -

Yes, please , please make the kneeboard remember the last size and position! It gets very old adjusting it every flight. Especially with multi monitor setups.

Disabling ASW in OTT and/or Oculus debug does not always actually disable it in game for me. I often times will notice studdering and go ahead and press Right CTRL + 1 (numpad) which turns off ASW and will instantly clear it. I then hit Right CTRL + 2 to lock frames at 50% (36fps for me since bouncing around from 60-72 creates jerkiness). what I don’t know is what program/application hitting CTRL +1 is effecting. Meaning is pressing those keys telling Oculus debug to turn of ASW (even though it’s set to off), OTT or some other program. all I know is it worked but Selecting 264 as the Codec really boosted performance and I had never heard of that

Really appreciate the kind words! I'm plugging away really hard at the next one (I know ... I've been saying that for a while now). But the end is insight. I am adding a feature to the new campaign where if the triggers that detects what radio freq you have selected breaks for some reason (i.e. from an update or something) that you can have the game "auto-tune" the freqs so it doesn't kill the campaign in it's tracks. (or, if you just don't feel like tuning the radios you can utilize this new feature). It's a lot of work to add the system to an already basically finished campaign, but I figure it's worth the trouble if a future update to the DCS core may upend the radios. Even though the next campaign is going to use modern jets, you're not going to have to learn super in-depth procedures and whatnot. I'm trying to make it so all calibers of players (hardcore, weekend warriors, and new folk) can pick it up and enjoy it. It's a challenging balance, but I think I did it.

yeah again my experiences that ARE TRUE mean little to you. Again, you arent interested in the truth. You cant bs everyone. Its not just about him abandoning his work, its him not supporting his work AND blaming his mistakes on everyone but himself. Stop pretending like you care.

F/A-18C Modern MPD v 2.1.54 - Updated 25/4/2025
sobe replied to CapnCoke's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
CapnCoke I don't know whether it is my age, eyes or just my old monitor, but I have a hard time seeing the speed and altitude on the HUD, even with your HUD mod. I tried to follow your directions, but I cannot seem to get it all black like I want it. If you have a chance, I would appreciate if you could modify your HUD to make it all black. Except that you can look at Ron's past behavior and see that his beliefs were wrong pretty often. He's one of those people who will blame everyone but himself. It's never his fault, the way he tells it. Hence, what he believes is irrelevant, because he's been pretty clearly shown to be rather bullheaded in the past. There's a line between self confidence and stubbornness, and he's firmly on the latter side. A person with his personality won't acquiesce just because he's wrong, even if his lawyers tell him as much. In fact, your dogged persistence in your accusations of bias, despite multiple people telling you, in great detail, why you're wrong, shows that this describes you, as well. You think you're being fair, but your bothsideism has another name: golden mean fallacy. What we've seen so far points to the truth not being somewhere in the middle in this case.

Nvidia Smooth Motion - 590.26 preview drivers
Dangerzone replied to Raven68's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well, this whole time I've been disappointed that it's not aimed for VR - and after your update I realise that there's no point being disappointed - even the target audience is better off without it. Thanks for giving us those test result info! -

The latest Pimax Play is giving me the same momentary freezes but on the OG Crystal (with a 5090 now and maybe it's crap NVidia drivers in the mix, who knows or can tell anymore).

Pimax Super, order and delivery dates, please post.
Panzerlang replied to Panzerlang's topic in Pimax
Nine days after the email telling me the item had cleared customs and would be "expected to arrive at the warehouse in about 1 week, after which it will be shelved and shipped." with no further communication. I thought the "week" would be a worse-case scenario and expected it to be arriving at my door a lot sooner. DHL usually manage it on the same day (clears customs, package arrives late afternoon). Fedex, next day. But Pimax? Ooooh no, of COURSE not. Nine days later, I guess they put it on the van for points Alaska. Or maybe Hong Kong. What's that tried and trusty UK expression..."couldn't organize a pissup in a brewery". So, where's my headset, Pimax? Seven months not long enough for ya? -

I’m not trying to be objective, I’m just calling it as I see it. But you don’t intuitively understand my point, and I’m not going to spend time arguing about it in a forum. This whole thread demonstrates that’s a waste of time.

I’m fine with rumble effects, even on a FFB joystick. The problem is that there seem to be more and more folks that think rumble effects are FFB. Unfortunately I recall seeing this with “influencer” review videos when the Moza FFB stick came out. Slick professional “hey guys” videos by people who had no idea what FFB was supposed to be modeling as it relates to airplanes. I saw reviews that basically seemed like they were unaware of what they should be feeling, skipped commentary on FFB, and instead worried that the gunfire effects werent very strong, and “geez it’s big, probably cant use on on a desk” comments. I’d hate for Moza or other FFB manufacturers to feel pressure to appeal to influencers or other gamers that don’t understand airplanes and how to model forces. But I feel like I’m taking this off topic. Wouldn’t want to turn into an old man yelling at clouds with my ranting lol.

According to the allegedly leaked letter of demand, Razbam is not allowed to talk about this. How do you know that those chats/documents exist and that they contain the exact things that you expect them to say? You are making lots of assumptions here, and there is a pretty good chance that you are wrong about certain things. The allegedly leaked letter of demand states that ED is withholding agreed payments, but that they are allowed to do so, under the terms of a contract that we don't have. We have no way to evaluate whether ED actually has the right to withhold payment and for what amount, and what amount they actually withheld. If you look at one of my previous posts, then you can see that my argument is that ED could have waited with the withholding/fine until both parties had agreed on what fine was reasonable. And they could have chosen to accept a reduction to the fine to a level that is acceptable to Ron, which is clearly not the case now. Even if ED is technically right that Razbam violated the contract, which may or may not be true, then there still is such a thing as handling things in a way that reduces the chance of disruptions and increases the chance of a good resolution for all parties. Exactly, that is my point. I strongly suspect that he didn't think through the consequences of his actions, and thought that Ron would accept the fine and things would continue as before, and there would be no impact to DCS customers. It is hard to imagine that he would have made the same choices if he knew the consequences, but those consequences were not at all unlikely.

I do similar. Hold the starter. When the engine engages, as soon as it hits about 300 move the mixture lever forward ( kind of slowly, not just jamming it all the way quickly). When you hit full forward release the starter. Also the throttle should be cracked open just a little bit, in my experience… maybe it doesn’t need to be but it seems to work well that way.

Great campaign, as always. I'm really enjoying it. Does anyone have a go-to tactic to evade the SA-18s? I've only evaded points off when the randomized placement worked in my favor, so far. Out of burner, breaking and dumping the flares hasn't been working for me, even when I saw one go off immediately and had maximum time and space to maneuver.
