I think all major points have already been made, but there is another slightly more subtle argument, that i call the penny pusher problem: PvP in supposedly deep tactical games often feels like coin pushers: You can approach the game with skill and planning, but the tactical outcome is determined less by your individual input and more by the unpredictable cascade of random strangers piling in. Each round looks the same on the surface, yet wildly different results occur depending on who happens to show up and how they collide. The design promises depth and realism, but without communication, roleplay, or at least shared intent, the tactical layer collapses into arbitrary "social randomness". It’s the same kind of illusion coin pushers thrive on: Players believe their timing and precision are decisive, while in reality their agency is constantly undercut by uncontrollable and completely opaque variables. That kind of randomness can work in Quake, where chaos is the point and individual skill shines through nevertheless, but in a game that sells itself on tactical depth and interconnected systems it creates frustration, because what should feel like a battle of strategy ends up feeling like an arcade machine. This randomness is arbitrary and opaque: It creates noise rather than depth. Therefore it should not be mistaken for the kind of randomness that fuels replayability in well designed dynamic scenarios (dynamic campaign?!) where variation emerges from clear rules and systemic design. In those scenarios, even losing can be satisfying, because the player sees how their choices interacted with the rules.

lol. been there, done that. i am solely an SP user. as many say, squads are great, but the time put in to getting all the schedules together is a hindrance. i am the member of a squad. they host a PvE server. i play the same mission locally. they put a lot of time into it and it is quite fun.

The manual of the real helo has the Army code TM 1-1520-237-10 ... shortened to "-10" by many users. In my opinion it is unnecesarily complex, you can perfectly learn this bird with just its DCS guide (DCS UH-60L Mod v2 Guide.pdf which is in the \Doc folder of the helo)

And yet you have stronger technical document stating that blanking is there and radar itself has diagram with output signal for SPO-15 blanking? This can not be denied by pilot's manual, yet it can be explained with deterioration of electronics. Either in radar or in SPO-15. It should be distinguished from the time when aircraft was new and operational from the time several years later where these mechanisms did not work anymore. Hence, we need to be able to trigger those failures, but otherwise the radar and spo should behave according to their designs.

Thanks for the replies. In the end curiosity got the better of me! We have a family Quest 2, so having reviewed the Virtual Desktop recommendations I plumped for a Puppis S1 as a relatively easy to configure option. This gave me a four fold increase in bandwidth at 2.4Gbps and instantly solved my issues using the Q2. I thought that an ac router might be enough but it seems that wasn't the case. Spurred on, I ordered another Quest 3 and after some testing with various codecs and resolution settings ended up with something I am happy with running DCS and sim racing/rallying titles and most definitely an improvement over the G2 which is what I was aiming for. I think the Quest 3 is a great device for ease of use but when it comes to PCVR things quickly get quite involved. It has been a bit of a journey but my conclusion like many is that Virtual Desktop is a better solution to the Meta link option be that wired or wireless but you do need a decent WiFi solution. That said the Puppis S1 is a cheaper option than the official Meta cable and connects direct to your PC. My only deviation from the norm from my research is I still find SteamVR OpenXR a smoother option than either Oculus or VDXR.

This manual is from the 1990s, when many in the Russian Federation were not afraid to share over military documents. And this isn't the only manual. There's also a Su-27 combat manual which says pretty much the same thing.

I think it is fixed because you have text warning light which will always display that number. You cannot change it's value. And actual bingo fuel should be around 1000kg, but you do not get warning for that.

Last year, ED reported that the AIM-7 missiles were based on a new API with new dynamics and guidance systems. Now the R-27 has reach this points too. If you don't turn on failures in the failures panel, they won't work. In the simulator, everything is perfect and nothing breaks, neither weapons nor planes.

Hi, Dunno after what update this started happening, cause I know for a fact that an internet disconnection and re-connection wasn't doing this other times, but if you login with your account as normal, enter the game and load up a mission, be it single or multiplayer, if for whatever reason your internet disconnects, you will not be prompted with any error or anything just like nothing happened. You can remain disconnected for days if you were able to enter the game by online login with your account on the modern startup menu. But if your internet re-connects...BAMMM..., a CTD with an option to send the error report. So it only happens if you reconnect. If even for one second your internet has disconnected and then re-connected = CTD due to re-connection only. If you enter the game and play with offline mode, this issue won't take place. It only takes place after you reconnect to the internet when you have initially logged in with ONLINE mode. I have done the recheck of ALL files (slow work) at least twice hoping that the repair module might help find any issues with the files, but no. Nothing seems wrong with any of the installed files. Is this having to do with a sort of copyright protection or something which is made to prevent people trying to play DCS with unpaid modules and it affects everyone when the internet reconnects or is this happening only to me? I don't disrespect those who put unimaginable work and effort for these unique modules in this world in DCS, so I don't foul around with unpaid modules, so this is abnormal that these errors occur. Не совсем так. В документе "Бортовой комплекс самолетовождения.." написано, что СПО-15 бланкируется в момент работы РЛС. Но ничего не написано насколько корректно она выдает информацию. А вот в методике БП для МиГ-29 и Су-27, которые уже пишутся для летчиков без лишней воды, дается качественная оценка работы СПО с РЛС - "верить нельзя". Это значит что Береза что-то показывает, но это может быть не связано с реальной радиообстановкой.
