shagrat started following C-130J Pre-purchase

Pre-ordered! Thank you for your hard work. This will be one hell of a flight experience. Despite the perception, that there's not "much to do for a C-130J in DCS" I can't wait to do all those things we will be able to do! From supply drops, combat landings on improvised short runways, cargo delivery on a dynamic multiplayer server, to the MC-130J and infil and exfil of SpecOps teams behind enemy lines or in the Hindukush mountains in weather and at night... And the impressions from the pre-order trailer are awesome. Really looking forward to this gem!

The P-3 or even an S-2 would be amazing, as well as some Navy helicopters like the MH-60/HH-60 series or a SH-2 for example. However, I think the whole ASW scene would need serious development before any modules could exist, for starters there would need to be underwater topography and a seascape developed for each map, then sonar principles and war ship AI logics would need to be created, only with those minimum requirements could ASW be truly "simulated" or modeled in DCS and various modules. Hopefully someday that all become a reality along with ship modules!

investigating No RWR warnings about SA-11 launch
okopanja replied to lester's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
No radar, no distance information. TV channel could not be used, since most of actions for SA3 occured at night and small number had thermovision. Gen. Jovica Draganić stated actual numbers of missiles launched using different tracking methods in this book(500+ pages): https://delfi.rs/knjige/63397-vazdusni-rat-nad-srbijom-1999-godine-knjiga-delfi-knjizare.html Same authors also published 2 booklets in English, but with naturally reduced set of information. It was actually my error, I meant missile not seeker. Btw distance fuze reading is transmitted back to the guidance operator f1/f2, each having fairly large single niddle based instrument to indicate measured distance. At the end of the day despite being way less advanced than Kub and not as mobile, Neva did perform way better. Still not all of the crews were of equal training quality. E.g. 3 r.d. had professional crew in key positikns, while some others were composed from reserve. Maybe digressing too much. KUB itself made passive launches(no prior radar illuminaton) on A-10s but not truly passive, since guidance had to be provided. I believe they got RWR warnings. Once the missile was in the air, illuminator was turned on. -
The size of the module isn't metioned in the store yet. The 200GB are the minimum requirement of DCS. E.g. the MiG-29A also shows those 200GB in the minimum requirements but mentions a module size of less than 3GB.

Das war ein toller Freitag! Freue mich auf die C-130 sehr!! Ich finde es vor allem toll dass mit der Herc neue Aspekte des Militärfliegens in DCS einzieht und der SIM damit vielschichtiger wird.

Free Mi-24P Campaign : The Dawn Of The Soviet-Afghan War

Colonel, hospital... Luckily I didn't have to report "Gruz 200". Mission accomplished @Raven (Elysian Angel) Something's wrong with your post. The text in the second frame and the photo are missing. Well, I wrote that it's great fun. -
Please think about this version as well . Fits perfectly with DCS, much better than C-130J (as long as DCS doesn't have a spherical earth).

Looks amazing and would love to purchase but please could I double check the module size. Have I misread 200Gb?

Нежданчик Охохо! Здравствуй, большая Геркулесина. Я просто обязан это охватить, пролетав пол жизни на самолетах транспортной категории!

Video review before pre-order ends?
MiG21bisFishbedL replied to LimePartician's topic in DCS: C-130J
No guff, but best of luck on that one. -
I'm betting on December with a good chance of moving into January. DCS always has to expect the worst. I'm here deciding whether to buy the C-130J or Battlefield 6. Tough choice!
-
In DMs please, not here.
-
I thought the C-130J was scheduled for release in late 2025 (that's what it was said), so something like November or December? Was it supposed to be earlier?
-
Now that would be great if we could do that
- Today
-
I'd like to hear more about this...
-
How many troops will we be able to load on the C130? We should be able to drop some serious infantry fire power into the combat zone, and what about that 150 knot flying rescue they use to do where they snatched people off the ground.
-
I do have the Natops manual for the KC-130J, hopefully the DCS one will be close enough. If anyone wants a link to it send me a PM.

Pre-order Program Available for a limited time at only $55.99 Pre-order Please note that you can also purchase the DCS: C-130J directly from the Airplane Simulation Company website. Development progress From the Airplane Simulation Company: What’s already done Over the past year(s), we’ve completed the core flight-model, engine, APU, electrical, hydraulic, fuel systems, and avionic systems. The cargo bay is fully walkable in VR and flatscreen, with rigged physics for CDS bundles, and the GBU-43/B MOAB. Network-synchronised multi-crew is fully implemented for two players. What we’re still doing As we approach release, key focus points for the team include finalization of audio effects in the cargo bay, damage modeling, Levels Of Detail (LODs), integration of a 3rd multicrew slot, and the completion of a vehicle airdrop system in partnership with Eagle Dynamics. We’re also tuning parachute deployment mechanics, including introducing extraction chutes for heavy equipment airdrops, and physically simulated static lines. Post Early Access Launch Once the C-130J-30 is released, our focus will turn to the MC-130J. This variant, operated by AFSOC, brings aerial refueling capabilities, including player-to-player AAR in multiplayer. The MC variant also includes the AN/AAS-52(V) EO-IR pod, and a third crew station for the CSO, or combat systems officer. We thank our community SMEs, test teams, Eagle Dynamics for their support, and every pilot eager to get those four fans of freedom turning. The Herc is rounding the corner, see you on the ramp soon! Bye Phant

In this period, some cockpit's switches and buttons animations doesn't react to phisical switch changes. But the function behind should work fine. Best example are MPDs buttons and the selector DAY/NT/MONO, the phisical buttons on the frames work fine, but the relative button in cockpit stay still
