Doesn't matter, you get access to whole map regardless which part you bought! Difference is which part you get the high resolution textures based on your purchase. Myself bought the Easter Afghanistan - why bc is had much more places to get advantages of high res textures. Will it change in the future I'm not aware and after flying a while I don't care. All I wait now is winter textures. No point in such heresy and despite my attempts there is no way to save space with this product.

I'd try what you're talking about in game but my game doesn't even load right now so maybe someone can verify this for me...I'm assuming you need to right click on each of the PCL's once NG is on the rise to "click" the PCL into idle. I wouldn't try using the scroll wheel due to the fact you might go past idle. Try that and see what happens.

investigating Radar losing lock way too easy in all modes.
LaCiKa replied to LaCiKa's topic in Bugs and Problems
1st AUTO mode is like switch every second, from HPRF to MPRF to achive best lock, there is no "random". 2nd Again, again and again im not going to repeat my self that P mode is complete joke, you can't achive lock more than 15-20km, even 20km is HUGE risk of lock breaking it's self, i don't know in what world did you get 35km lock on HOT target. Even in Wags video is mentioned some distance of 8nm. Simply radar is bugged it needs to be fixed and give it more power, to me it makes no sense to have 120km+ range on HPRF and 15km on MPRF, simple as that. -
Again, very basic metric. Tells you nothing about for how long it can hold that power level and in what conditions. Apparently I do know it very well, as we're not comparing who was first in terms of a singular (or few) systems, but rather how expansive it was, and how well i corporated. We already derailed from a thread on SPO-15, so let's not hijack it further, but do know that SAGE was a system meant to synthesize a large amount of data from a multitude of sensors (radars) and project it on a general map of the world. That data still had to be verbally transferred to the pilots. It's strength lie in the collection of all data, supposed easy to read translation as well as automation with ground SAM sites. Soviets' however, took that a step further and integrated such automation on their planes. This was done in secrecy pre MiG-21 era. (Let's also not forget, that the radar, was a British invention, same as e.g. the jet engine). Anyways, if you wish to talk about this in depth, shoot me a PM.

I don't know if this is typical, but I prefer to learn enough Russian and Cyrillic to be able to orient myself in the cockpit while keeping the original unit system and labels. After all, this is a soviet plane, and as an aviation geek part of my joy is learning that CAY refers to autopilot in Russian . To help your non-Russian speaking customers planning to enjoy the airplane in its original unit system and language, could you include all the reference speeds, altitude and such in metric unit in the DCS manual ? (keeping their imperial unit equivalent for those preferring to keep their habit or who just wish to compare). Thank you.

The diamond currently appears to show the gimbal in the horizon stabilized coordinate system. But I think it should be relative to the aircrafts nose, and also not roll stabilized.

I am aware of the underlying logic, but at what frequency does this happen? Obviously, tens of times a second. In an ECM environment, the radar has to work longer at peak and sustained power in order to obtain a target. Again, how does it affect the electronics for the duration required? It is true that west has had more AWACS than east (afterall, US is the nation that requires a fully mobile force in order to virtually go anywhere (oceans on both sides of the continent)). That said, GCI was available way before AWACS, and US never had anywhere near the datalink/intercept capabilities that Soviets had. It's a pretty major capability to be able to infercept a target based on GCI telemetry, with your own radar in passive mode. It gets even worse, when you know that R-27T/ET can get you at BVR ranges, and that, covertly. That's a DCS/open source peculiarity where west discloses more. While I agree, that it is a much later iteration of a F-15 (C, not A - same aa F-16 btw...), I still do know for a fact that it will be morw difficult to learn and operate. While more automated electronics are in place, with realistic settings (radar, HOTAS, generally cockpit), you'll have to better understand the aircraft you fly in order to utilize it. That goes for use of onboard systems, that goes for radar competence and what works where and how. F-14 has a pretty good radar for its time, yet, being proficient at using it requires you to dedicate yourself to that rear seat as if it was a separate module itself. I haven't come across anyone who has been proficient with it yet. Same with AH-64D, surprisingly not as popular of a module as one would think. Why? - because it's too advanced for the common head to wrap around. F-15 with ASM, should be very much that. You have a decent amount of capability, but bringing it to good use, is not a point-and-click exercise. (Some westeners are surprised at how advanced MiG-29 is in its systems, and seek a simplification (FC3) already. Good luck with F-15 and some 34 HOTAS bindings x3 (Air/Ground/Cruise) alone...).

I have to agree. It feels quite sterile as it is. The F4E is amazing with parts wobbling and moving around inside the cockpit. From the videos the very least should be the mirrors shaking and the sun sheild above the hud repeater flexing. Ed has done it with the Apache so I was hoping there would be something on this Mig.

I was going to post the exact same thing. Otherwise, one need to write down the whole com plan on sheet of paper while preparing the mission. Realistic, but someone else in the squadron can do that, right ?
-
Nope, i'm not thinking about SA page. At least on OFP 21X there is L&S BE position at bottom right of the radar page and i wish DCS jet would have that too, among other more recent OFP version things.

So when you lock there is diamond showing deflection of radar antenna, the HUD scale for this element is +/-70 degrees horizontal tally and +/-45 degrees vertically. It works great horizontally, but vertically only reacts to the angle between your plane and the target in vertical space (not actual gimbal limit, your own nose angle has no effect). I am sure ED is aware of this?

Thankyou for the quick reply. Saves me planning for a Patreon cost as well then. I wasn’t complaining about it by the way, was just hoping for more info to see if the pro maps stated would be something worth getting. sorry had no idea that the pop out was a 3rd party product, as I’ve never seen it before. Intresting, Thankyou for the answer. Had no idea that this was from another 3rd party as I’ve never seen this interface before apart from within the Herc. Must admit it looks good, so I’m off to see if it’s worth adding to my other modules. As this has now been answered very clearly. Can a Moderator lock it down to any more comments. It’s good to keep the answer clear here in case anyone else spots it and becomes intrigued. But now they will get the answer with a quick search.

No, just better regain lock before missile passes the target! The N-019 will only illuminate for the missile 60 seconds anyways

HI, I find that the A20 does not defend itself nearly well enough, enemy fighters can fly through a large Box formation with virtually no risk at all.... Is there a way that we can adjust their level of aggression towards enemy fighters ? The B 17s are not much better either, when fighters attack a 12 ship box formation, the air should be buzzing with tracers Kind regards

Did you check for how long can the lock be broken?
