  2. Thank you Czar66, I will try to do it ASAP. I´ve been checking many different option and I´ll try to put all of them in place, one by one, double check. I´m on leave, but next week I´ll do it. I was with 566.36, but DCS is not the only thing I play, MCFS 2024, ARMA 3, Diablo IV, Stalker 2 and a few more. I will revert to 566.36. Thank you Diego999
  3. Thank you @KENNY1988 for this review! Appreciate your feedback and most of all - your videos!
  4. I run a 4060 with 8GB and it's totally fine for 2K resolution with fairly maxxed out settings. So the 5060 would be the best option OR pay a bit more for the Ti version. This is because DLSS and DLAA are king right now in DCS. Every AMD card will s*ck because newer FSR is not supported. VRAM size is not everything, VRAM speed is also a factor. I tested four cards in the last months: 3070, 3070ti, 7700XT and the 4060. The AMD card had great FPS, but the worst looks. The Nvidia cards are just superior in DCS.
  5. Yeah, I bet its about version part in luas or something. If and when it works with ai, it cant be far out To be honest i am not coder, just applied automation engineer, but ofc can understand and learn those things pretty fast. Have only used computer since 3 yo My first computer was Oric Actually times of c64 i did some coding, but ofc thats pretty well - basic. Applied systemes / machinery coding ofc has some c in em today also, but mainly systemes start to be graphical with doing settings only. The hardest part for me here is , as you mentioned in some way, getting the whole "package " work correctly together. But half win = no error codes. Hope EFM would see (or if not the mod itself) TWS systems of ed, somekind of update. That is pretty much only "gamebraker" with mod right now, but it is not about the mod - that is the case if undrstood correctly. (ED holds some parts of TWS locking of missiles (atleast many of em). Atleast i heard this is not he only mod has same problem ATM (ofc f-15c etc works no prob, but for example gripen had same problem when i last tried.)
  6. Perhaps "fragment" would be a better word. And the whole community is actually a set of many communities (and often just individuals ) with different views. Sorry to tire you with this. I actually own WW2 pack and the other two tech-packs, but that doesn't change my view on the asset packs. Of course, in single-player it doesn't really matter, you either buy it or not, you have it or not, there is no other implication, except for campaigns and perhaps community missions. I understand there is a lot of effort put into those assets and at least it's a big logical group of assets. I can also imagine a developer micro-selling micro things, so this is still better.
  7. QNH or QFE? There's a pressure conversion aproximation error (in DCS, for all modules), but the MB339 altimeter precision is within specifications.
  8. Really Really good mission Nicely build and very immersive - MORE of this Jonsky7 !!!
  9. Because some users have shortcuts or apps that points to it. We did that when MT was launched to force MT when we had a choice. So basically for temporarily backwards compatibility. Cheers!
  10. The maps are customised to the needs of the flying unit. There are several different styles of aeronautical charts, and many militaries actually have completely custom charts. It's not a case of the military putting the civilian chart in there - mission support personnell can build a map from the ground up basically if need be. Although the Finnish Airforce uses the newer displays, there are a few videos using a black moving map with relevant training area borders in purple/magenta. Those are definitely not civilian aeronautical charts. It would be critical to have a map on a mission IRL where you would have to constantly discern which areas are "real" and which areas are not during the mission just because nobody bothered to install relevant maps. That would increase pilot workload needlessly. The reason most videos on the internet show aeronautical charts, is because most videos are filmed in areas where said airspace is still valid. And I'm not talking about weither or not a single area is active currently, rather weither the whole airspace structure is valid or not. Sure, one can fly with any aeronautical chart, but purpose built ones would for sure be preferred. The aircraft itself does not care what color and what symbology is baked onto the map as long as it is not to do with hardware limitations (like display color palette, which is not the case with the DCS F/A-18C AMPCD). It does not care if the map is "official" or custom made. But the pilot does. Another way to look at this is: if an airspace was completely reshaped for wartime operations, the civilian aeronautical charts wouldn't be valid, because at that time the airspace does not exist anymore. Similar to when a country rebuilds it's airspace structure - you can't go flying with the old maps. The files are, actually now that I think about it, under the map installation folder, under rastermaps. So technically I should have posted this on the general wishlist as it concerns all the modules that use the maps. It's not under savedgames... if it were then modding them would not break IC. Sorry, the reply wound up a bit long. Point is this wish is not made on a whim. Participation to the discussion if very much appreciated. Allows me to make the point clearer. Regards, MikeMikeJuliet
  11. Just curious: why is /bin-mt still supported when it just contains the same files as /bin ?
  12. Ooh, nice surprise, cheers ‘team’
  13. Just click on the VPC Link in my post. It's from the Virpil website. If there's a fix I would appreciate a hint from @Rudel_chw
  14. Hi! Where did you download the VPC mod from? There's a bug with it. I believe @Rudel_chw has a fix. Cheers!
  15. Why did you reward yourself the solution when @admiki already gave it to you?
  16. How did you get airborne?
  17. The Kamikaze Hunters: Fighting for the Pacific, 1945 by Will Iredale is another good read about the topic. It follows a group of pilots from their training in the US, the August 1944 air strikes against Tirpitz through the final battles in the Pacific.
  18. @Gloopy @big_fun I think I have both of the issues fixed... man, the AI does so many stupid things it still makes me speechless sometimes...
  19. Yeah, I don't get it myself. I believe it's a combination of light and shadow settings. @jethead could you post your graphics settings and whether or not you have reflections on under the special settings? Cheers!
  20. You’re guide to the altitude and speed holds! https://youtu.be/AB11evVlqo0
  21. Schau mal hier, Rakuzard hat da mal ein Review über den VIRPIL Controls Mongoos T-50CM3 gemacht. Vielleicht hilft dir das weiter. (Ab 29:46 min)
  22. Today
  23. Well, that‘s just how it is on an aeronautical chart. Assuming you are talking about CTRs, Restricted Areas and such. I think it‘s still realistic, that these charts would be used. If you happen to be at war with that particular country, then you simply ignore their „Restricted Areas“ of course. Drawings from the DTC would still have a different appeal, so it‘s unlikely to get mixed up. Where are these maps located in the file structure actually?
  24. Yesterday's Newsletter.
  25. I cannot find any announcement about the zero fighter. What info have you seen about it?
  26. The poor readability comes in part from the fact that the map beneath the green symbology is made with colors that do not make the symbology pop. That is in fact not "correct as is" but a function of what kind of map is loaded onto the aircraft. There is no reason the map under the symbology would have to be a color that hides the symbology given that the AMPCD is a full color screen. On your second point yes, I would love to have the ability to "bake" drawings from the ME that would then show on the map. But there is an issue there: the current maps (example: Caucasus) already has stuff baked into the map itself that you cannot remove without modifying the map beneath. In the end both would need to be implemented. But if only one was, then the ability to alter the maps would allow for the same functionality that your suggestion would, with the added benefit of customising everything else regarding the moving maps as well. It would be more cumbersome for sure. Besides ED removing IC from the maps would be a really easy step for them versus building a system where they alter the maps on runtime based on ME drawings.
