  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah we all want the waiting time for more "realism" I am sure. In general it is questionable while you rearm while the engine is running in a few minutes in DCS then need to wait for a TGP to reboot is a realistic combination at all. If the rearming time was realistic ( 45 minutes plus minus incl engine shutdown and restart ) the reboot time of the TGP would be no factor anyway.
  3. I got this to work from the hooks environment: return net.dostring_in('scripting', "local mps = world.getMarkPanels(); local mps2 = {}; for k,v in pairs(mps) do table.insert(mps2,v['text']); end; return table.concat(mps2, '|')") It seems that only trivial return values are being passed - single number or string, no complex objects. I wish there was a way for this to work online too. I can't believe its not possible to get the mark panels which are literally user generated points, would be so handy for any DTC type tool (or in my case plotting board style nav kneeboard)
  4. The last update was 80GB for me, the previous one, I don't remember, but maybe it was around 70GB. So, in fact, you might need to download almost 150GB. But that's probably not a surprise?
  5. "If you're not interested in the real process, then why play DCS at all?" were your words and there is absolutely nothing real in sitting alone in a jet and clicking buttons in a defined sequence. You can get the same "realism" by reading a procedure, if nothing ever happens, so there is absolutely no point to force a player to do that and on the opposite better give people a way to skip through that nonsense. We have autostart and really waiting for DTC to be properly done, but you literally came and said "you shouldn't use that in a realistic campaign because it breaks immersion for me". And yet you can stay as long as you want on the ground in most missions, just don't reply till you are ready to taxi and enjoy your immersion. DCS has decent realism in the air, but never had it on the ground, and it's simply unbelievable to me how the way the campaign is built manages to appear unrealistic to you, while clicking buttons and switches alone in a hangar appears to you as realistic. To me in VR it appears just as ridiculous. For sure it is possible to script every failure check and ground crew ops communication, but you can't expect it in every campaign as a must to be called "realistic" and maintaining all that scripting with DCS updates will be a nightmare. So, until the game itself manages the ground decently enough I believe content creators should focus on things that actually work well. Otherwise the price will double and many will be skipping that part anyway as they come to fly first and don't have the time to sit on the ground for 20 minutes for every single take off and through bugged scripts, as you seem to understand. So this one already definitely deserves to be called realistic for what it is.
  6. Two little issues: 1. I never see the spike of the radar echo on the A-Scope. This does not prevent me from locking and hitting the ship, but doesn't look right. 2. For familiarization with a new weapon I like to use the "Unlimited Weapons" option. This doesn't seem to work with the BAT bomb. Pity!
  7. With the Corsair, I had had landing clearance (the stock instant action carrier landing scenario); with the F14, I always contact the carrier for landing clearance. But strangely enough, last night I tried an ACL approach and this time DCS did not crash. So, this is one weird bug for sure.
  8. Sorry if discussed before, but.. I missed the previous update, so I now have to do the last 2 updates at once. When doing so, I get a warning that I don't have enough disk space and that the update is a whopping 149GB! Ehr.. that can't be right now, can it?
  9. A new training mission is now available in DCS user files, recreating the Tarnak Range located just southeast of Kandahar Airfield in southern Afghanistan. This range was actively used by coalition forces during the OEF/ISAF campaigns for live-fire exercises, mostly ground-to-ground, but also sometimes for close air support (CAS) training and JTAC integration. It also holds historical significance as a former al-Qaeda training site prior to 2001. Additional historical context is available here. The mission features a variety of static and mobile targets, along with MANPADs and AAA systems that can be dynamically activated or deactivated using the F10 radio menu. The implementation of the MOOSE Range script enables detailed scoring for bombing and strafe runs and provides protection from MANPAD hits. A JTAC unit is included to support CAS training. While the range procedures and patterns are fictional, they are inspired by those used in real-world training environments. CombatFlite and Tacview support is also available. This mission is designed primarily for fixed-wing aircraft training. A future update will expand the mission to include the Texas Helo Range, specifically tailored for rotary-wing operations. Important notes: Open this mission as a multiplayer mission in order to be able to use dynamic slots and choose any aircraft at Kandahar, or manually add the aircraft of your choice in DCS Mission Editor. Due to a DCS bug, it is not possible to directly monitor when a player enters a plane. So in a mission with client slots, it is vital that a player first enters as spectator or hits ESC twice and after that jumps into the slot of his aircraft! If that is not done, the script is not started correctly. This can be checked by looking at the radio menus. If the mission was entered correctly, there should be an "On the Range" menu items in the "F10. Other..." menu.
  10. I found some bugs with this module: 1. absent shape on the mast 2. Perhaps modeller forgot to apply shape smooth to this lamp. 3. When the interior lighting switch is first turned on, all lights are turned on. At the same time, the lighting controls are in the "off" position. 4. It is forbidden to assign button to show pilot's body to the joystick, only to the keyboard. 5. Essex unable to engage air targets with 5 inch guns. 6. Planes can land and roll on a damaged Essex's deck.
  11. Возможно всё ... только не МИГ-21 , а МИГ-19 и остальные разбамовские модули с глобальным обновлением 3.0 работать перестанут
  12. mission time 23:59. TV mode shows the same image as Whot. TV should have higher resolution and a black image at night.
  13. This is my last video before the patch. Look how stable the flight is. I use 0 axis curves and 0 dead zones.
  14. Set Marianas ground textures to low. I notice little difference in terms of visual standards in VR but see huge performance gain. This however changes depending on maps so I use different graphics profiles for the maps I use which is a bit of a pain but that’s how it is.
  15. yeah, me neither usually, but I get tempted every now and then….. Anyhow, where were we? Ah, yes, bashing NviDiA…..
  16. В каком плане, всё?
  17. I've been using nVidia for ages, but it should in fact be nVIDIA. And I remembered "intel" wrong: I've been using iNTEL for ages too. Personally I don't do ignore lists, but looking around the forum these past few years you're far from the first, and will likely not be the last either
  18. Получается. AV-8B, миг-21 и тд всё?
  19. Wow, what a shame! Have a good rest and hopefully see you soon.
  20. You are certainly a top contender to start my ignore list with…..
  21. Today
  22. Dude, I'm not dictating anything to anyone. I'm just giving feedback to the mission creator. And I'm not sending anyone to War Thunder either. In fact, I like playing War Thunder too – that's why I said "WE HAVE it!" But War Thunder is not a simulator. You yourself mentioned that we shouldn't forget the purpose of simulation – and I agree with that. But I think we might differ in what we consider a simulation to be. In my opinion, a simulation is precisely about being able to do things as if you were doing them in real life. For people who enjoy learning, that process – even if repeated – can be part of the fun. But I think you've somewhat missed my original point. As I already mentioned earlier, I'm not demanding a 100% accurate procedure down to the tiniest detail – DCS doesn't even allow for that in most cases. But if I don't even get the chance to prepare the aircraft before a mission, then it just stops being fun for me. I totally get that some people will use auto-start, won’t set up bingo fuel, departure procedures, or anything else – and that’s perfectly fine. But if a campaign is marketed as realistic, then it should also allow players to do things realistically. That’s all I’m saying.
  23. The module is leaving early access. Will there be mounting screws added to the panel that hold the displays and dials on the right panel? Is such a fix planned? Currently, the displays and dials are held on by the holy spirit. Real
  24. Now that we have the Advanced Targeting Pod and the Viper is about to leave Early Access, might we have an interactive training flight that teaches us how to work the pod? Thanks.
  25. So the tiny DCS user base will be cut in two, right? I wonder if this will be the end of multiplayer sessions.
