The Spit is a real lady, and she's breaking due to you insulting her! ;) Windmilling doesn't do serious damage engines, unless you let it windmill to the point of overspeeding. You're likely to have the engine windmilling on most every approach (or you wouldn't make the field in case of a sudden deafening silence). Edit: There is a limitation on windmilling in the Accusim rendition of the MkII manual. Peculiar - that takes further investigation. You need to keep the RPM up for high power operations, or you will be overtorqueing and risking detonation. Both can destroy your engine more or less instantly. The rule of thumb is just a rule of thumb. While it worked for some old Dinocomings etc, there are no guarantees. Stick with the power/RPM settings in the POH. And yes, the limit is to always keep the RPM to a a minimum dictated by the MAP setting - not the other way around. Overboosting means a too high MAP for a given RPM. Brit gauges show MAP relative to atmospheric while US gauges show absolute pressure. In other words, you need to add 1 atm. Cheers, Fred

My plan was to give it a last check with Beta 6 before I release my A10Ipadpit v1.0 But as the days go by and Beta6 is still not in sight, I will make it available now. We have to see what Beta6 will do with the keyboard layout. So what is it: It's a click-able A10 cockpit on you Ipad for DCS A10. It connect over Wifi with you DCS A10 using a little server tool on your pc. It got all working buttons and switches of the CDU,MFD'S,UFC and Comm Radio's. (No working displays at the moment) You can use it for a complete cold startup. It's for free. I used an Ipad application called "Touch IR+" with an addon in this app called ""Autohotkey". Together this will cost around $6,00. You can use this tool also to modify the Ipadpit as you like. Or make a new and better one and share it with us What this application does is actual very easy, sending keyboard commands from you Ipad to you pc..Config a nice background add the buttons with the key macro's and you got your self a clickable cockpit. There is a little configuring involved like loading a new keyboard configuration into DCS A10 but I tried to keep it as easy as possible. I made a little website were you can get all the info and the downloads for the A10IPadpit Get it here: A10 Ipadpit Hope it works for you, let me know what you think. btw, I've you don't have a Ipad but want to checkout the layout, you can downloading the free server tool from the touch IR+ site and import the layout to have a look.

You have to wait for the INS to align itself. After setting your right MFD to CDU- wait for the INS NAV READY to flash. It takes around 4 minutes or so. Once this is ready- press the NAV mode OSB, the TAD map display will come up on the left MFD, and you will be able to engage the EAC. If you press the NAV button prior to this queue- the alignment process resets to inflight or whatever-- and you will be waiting quite a few minutes before the EAC will work.

Пару лет назад смотрел репортаж об учениях наших ВВС. Там рассказали и показали как организуется полевой аэродром для современных боевых самолётов. ВПП организовывались на грунтовых дорогах. Именно в тех местах где самолёты садились и взлетали, грунтовую дорогу усиливали какими-то плитами (точно какими не помню). Ставили оборудование, что бы самолёты могли находить такой полевой аэродром и могли на него приземляться. Почему нельзя организовать такое в игре? У разрабов по любому должна быть инфа по этому поводу? 1) The course to set on the HSI is published in the approach plates (not included with the game, linked from the forum). 2) The TACAN and ILS are on separate frequencies. However, a frequency can be given in two different formats, either a xxX/Y channel or a plain MHz frequency. You're seeing the TACAN channel and the ILS given as both a frequency and a channel. Все правильно. Сделал скрин сначала(кому нужен) и автовылет(или принудительное катапультирование) из игры, коль другого пути в сети нет. Наблюдал пользуются постоянно некоторые. Даже от наземки. Ну есть высвеченная запись, кто это сделал, а потом что, ругаться с ним. На фиг это кому нужно. Потом на форуме начинаются долгие разборки. Админы во время игры, не всегда есть.

Another occasion not to use PAC is when you have a column of vehicles below and you want/need to steer to get them all. With PAC on, the aircraft stays steady on course and doesn't allow much maneuvering.

Privet 139, Like I said on the server yesterday, if you see a player with a R77 on Su27, please PM me on 104th forums (ED forums email notification is broken). Very ez to ban him right away. If you see a player that has fast rockets, maybe it is a bug. We had another player with same problem. Check track to see if missiles are visible. If they are invisible there may be a connection problem. Again PM me the track or PM me what you see. The ED forums are not the best place to talk about cheaters as ED does not allow such discussions. Thanks 139

From this I read that the Beta is delayed because they were trying to incorporate the new Chinese Stealth Fighter into DCS, and it won't start. Do you blame them for not saying anything? People pick apart every update then post scathing messages if their misinterpreted expectations aren't met. I wouldn't provide updates either. :smilewink:

I like the attitude which can be read between the lines here: The people value the work of ED, but less the information flow. That is fair and constructive, I think. Also the guys make the best out of it and have fun posting crazy stuff in this thread. I really enjoy reading here while waiting! Keep it coming guys! :)

Yeah, avsim and the PMDG crowd all have big chips on their shoulders. So they make good aircraft but it went to their heads BIGTIME!! I dare you to ask about release dates in that forum :P Even an avsim admin said it will be an instant ban if you do! I mean hello!!!!! At least these okes are not there yet :D But I agree, something went FUBAR with B6 and someone told someone else lower down the food chain to not say anything yet :D

enable Antialiasing if that doesnt work, then next to AA setting, pick the Override any application setting option and then below that add your AA amount, that should work in any game. But usually you should just leave the AA setting at Application Controlled and then set the AA amount ingame in the options menu, if the game has such a setting that is, if whatever game hasnt got that option, then you do what I suggested above, select override any application setting and then set AA to 4x or 8x etc. Also, force on Vysnc, dont leave it to the application setting, force that baby on. here is my setting, although I havent downloaded A10 yet, so I do not know if it has an AA option ingame, all the other sims from Ed dont, so if thats still the case with A10, then you will need to use override for you to get rid of the jaggies.

It means that under argument #31, the values from 0.0 to 1.0 control the first digit in the airframe number like this: Argument value:. -1.00 -----> 0.01 ----------0.11---------0.21-----------0.31..etc. Arcraft digit:...... --(no digit)---"0"-------------"1"----------"2"-------------"3"....etc. And at the end of the scale: ...0.91---------1.00 ...."9"-----------[no digit] Edit: this time around I got it right :D

Has anyone hooked up the TrackIR Pro clip directly to the G930? (i.e. powered off the G930's batteries). If I pick one up, might be my next project. --- EDIT: Actually after reading the reveiws, I had no idea the G930 was a "sound card in a headset". I had assumed it plugged into the mic and headphone jacks. Now that I've read a few horror stories of game incompatibility and buggy software, I'll likely go with the F450 Wireless Headset. Same as the G930 without the G buttons and software. Comes with a basestation that just plugs into whatever you need (mic and headphone jacks).

You could (carefully) shorten the wires on the USB cable for the track clip and velcro this battery onto your headset or something. And before someone asks...because I know someone will....no, it will not cause a "surge" by plugging it into a battery pack. The headset, like your phone/ipod/whatever else with a USB plug is made to work off USB voltages. At a given voltage (USB voltage in this case) a device will only take as much power as it was designed to take at that voltage. If you had a battery that could deliver 5 trillion amps at 5 (? I honestly forgot now...I think USB is +5v/ground for power and 3.3 for signalling) volts...you'd still only have ~ 50ma or so flow through this headset.
