it is in two parts because some files are shared by russian version and english one. so if you only download the first part small parts of files will return to the original low def russian game. by installing part two after part one it covers the russian origin file with the new eng file in hi res.4 points

I'm working on a small app that allows using the X52pro MFD to store mission important requency for reference. Frequency Scratchpad for X52pro MFD Usage: Using the UI you can enter various misson critical frequencies. The entered frequencies are then stored to the MFD for the time the application is running. You can use the MFD page scroll wheel (the left one below the MFD) to browse through the entered frequencies without the need of alt-tabing out of the sim. Just note that the fq are there just for reference, you still need to enter them to the radios yourself ;) Troubleshooting The App is compiled using DirectOutput.dll version 6.2.2.4. If you run in any problems, check the version of your driver dll first. The dll can be found in your saitek install folder\DirectOutput (i.e. c:\Program Files\Saitek\DirectOutput\), and the version is listed in the properties. The MFD SDK can have a mind of it's own. You can try to use the File->Restart Service to fix some weird behaviour the SDK has (i.e. the entered fq are not displaying on the MFD). If you have any problems or questions, then write here right away. I've been working on the app only for a few hours, and I didn't know anything about the MFD SDK before I started working, so there might be some pesky hidden bugs. :) Frequency ScratchPad.zip2 points

A-10C 1.1.0.6 Patch Available The DCS: A-10C Warthog Patch 1.1.0.6 is now available for download. Unlike some of our past product patches that had a large number changes and too often took a long time to create, for A-10C we will create patches with fewer changes but at more regular intervals. This also reduces the chances of new bugs being introduced. This first patch includes what we could resolve over a two week period. We fully understand that there are still remaining bugs and the legitimate ones will be addressed in later patches. We simply could not resolve all of them in this first patch. Please have patience as the remaining bugs are resolved. Run the patch as Administrator. After applying the patch to an installed version of DCS: A-10C Warthog, please reboot your computer before running the game. Download from: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/patches/dcs-wh_patch_1.1.0.6_en/ Patch Items: • Fixed some discrepancies and mismatches in the default input profiles. • Fixed minor bugs in the Quick Start missions. • Fixed AI target acquisition bug in the bad weather. AI aircraft should no longer perform multiple runs on target without weapons release. • Fixed minor graphics glitches when flying through overcast. • Fixed CTD in the GUI input panel caused by reassigning commands on the some joysticks. • Two working smoke generators on the A-10C is now possible. • Integrated “Make TXT” function to the input panel. This function will make a TXT file of all device profiles with player's input assignments. • Added a new “TREES VISIBILITY” slider in the graphics option panel. It allows you to adjust trees visibility from 1,500 to 15,000 meters independently of visibility range option. • Fixed background of rank promotion window. • The minimum value of the THICKNESS slider for overcast is limited to 200 meters by reason of technological limitation. • Fixed a bug with non moving ground vehicles at some conditions observed in the release. • AI-fighter will now always try to launch AA missile when target has entered into non-escape envelope. However, AI-fighters will fire missile immediately if it appears the fighter is losing its first-launch superiority. • In the ME, the speed value of the first point of a route will not reset after mission play in simulator. • The night sights were removed from MANPAD SAMs. • Fixed a bug with "Left Hydraulics Res" and "Left Hydraulics pressure" failure after repair. • MWS on the A-10C will react to all missiles in the certain range, not only hostile. • Increased range of LOD switching from 1,200 to 2,200 for Vasiani hangars. • Added missing textures of Tunguska, Kub and Buk missiles. • Master Caution will not active when starting an engine. • Added missing green position light on the AH-1 Cobra. • Adjusted oxygen mixture for high altitudes. The pilot will not suffer hypoxia during high altitude flight. • Fixed incorrect animation sequence for M257 illumination rocket. • After repair, the A-10C will not sink a bit into surface. • Decreased indicated wrong range of the Avenger SAM. • ME. Removed Aggressiveness option list from Advanced Panel - Action for preventing the conflict with “Reaction to Threat” options. • ME. Added “Allow Abort Mission” point to the “Reaction to Threat” option list. • Corrected some parking positions and shelters in the Vasiani airbase. • ME. Weapon combo box works properly if "Attack Group" and "Attack Unit" both present in the same waypoint. • Fixed length of hint fields with hyphenation. • The birds slider will work now. • Adjusted munitions expenditure per target calculation for AI aircraft. • Corrected some mission in the campaigns. • At mission saving the scenes option will be taken from the mission options not player options. • MP. Fixed jitter of client’s aircraft flaps at cold start. • MP. Fixed crash causing by bug in the datalink. • Fixed bugs in the debriefing log filters. • MP. Fixed crash with mixing 32 and 64 bit clients. • Fixed crash with jettison weapon in the Game mode. • Fixed JTAC Single player Radio comms crash. • Fixed some issues with the radio communication menu. • Fixed CTD at attempt to save mission in a game system folder. • ME. The template units can be dragged now. • Fixed the rain effect. • Fixed landing gear of the Mi-8 3D model. • Intensity knob on the A-10C UFC is working now.2 points

TARS is a plugin which will allow you to integrate DCS: A-10 with Teamspeak 3. The concept is simple: No channel switching in Teamspeak to ruin immersion. Rather, multiplayer communication ought to be accomplished by setting the radio in the plane to an agreed upon frequency and using that. You have radios in the game, so why not be able to extend that level of immersion to the multiplayer environment using Teamspeak? If other Teamspeak users are on that radio channel and they're in the same Teamspeak 3 channel as you, they will be able to communicate with you over any of the radios in your aircraft. If you die and/or go to spectator mode, you will automatically be placed into a parallel “virtual channel” where you can communicate with your fellow spectators without having to switch channels in Teamspeak. We hope to release a beta for testing in early 2011. Since we are in a very early phase of development now, the TARS team's current goal is to gather input from the community at this stage, just in case there's a gem of a feature that heavy-MP users need that we can try to implement in the first phase of the project. Planned features include: Automatic control of your radio communications based on what channel you're tuned to and whether or not your radios are on. If you are on a given channel that other players are on, you'll be able to communicate with them without having to worry if you're in the correct Teamspeak channel. Dead/Spectator enforcement. If you get killed in-game, you will be sent into a spectator mode where you'll be able to communicate with other players who are dead and/or spectating. Radio effective range enforcement. VFM FM radio, for instance, has a limited broadcast range when compared to its AM counterpart. This ought to reflect in gameplay. TARS is planned around a client based architecture, with no need to install extra software or otherwise modify the Teamspeak 3 server where you play. Planned future integration with Black Shark once A-10 integration is complete. If possible (and as a secondary objective), we'll be adding radio filter effects based on things like distance and radio type, for a more immersive gaming experience. There are plenty of additional goodies that may become possible in the future. However the above are the main gameplay-enhancing goals. The purpose of this announcement is to engage the participation of the community early in the development cycle so that we can be as responsive as possible to your needs. When it comes time for beta testing, we plan to fully engage the participation of the community. Update: Here's a video from an early alpha build of TARS that demonstrates some of the above features: Last updated December 21, 20101 point

In this little video I use Nixer's AFAC scenario to demonstrate target identification and prosecution of the attack with JTAC and the TGP. Subtitles take you through it but please forgive all the acronyms. TGP is a huge force multiplier; in this run, I acquire the target location by hooking the JTAC-supplied datalink triangle in the TAD and making it the SPI, roll in on the assigned heading, slew the TGP cursor to the SPI and then refine the targeting by updating the SPI, first through the HUD on the smoke signal, then in the TGP, following the AFAC's direction re. location of target relative to the smoke. This enables me to get a solid point designation on the moving trucks from about 8,000ft. That's what you want. I hope this might be of assistance. Let me know what you think.1 point

That's great :) thanks Save/Load will definitely be added. tbh, it was a lot easier than I expected and shouldn't a be problem for anyone familiar with c++ or C#. With the drivers comes SDK that is located in "Saitek\DirectOutput\SDK\" For C++ you just need to include header files in the include folder. For C# I've used this wrapper http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=18920 You can then use the methods provided by the API to manipulate the x52pro mfd and buttons.1 point

Marine Corps Air Station Yuma An AV-8B Harrier from Marine Attack Training Squadron 203 fires flares during a training flight July 27, 2010. The flares are meant to misguide any heat-seeking ordnance fired at the aircraft. VMAT-203, which is the lone Harrier pilot training squadron in the Corps and based in Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., brings its distinctive two-seated Harriers and students to the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, Ariz., several times a year to take advantage of the vast range and availability.1 point

Hi all, I feel that the price tag of $60.00 is expensive especially with the current financial climate. This, I believe will prevent many people from buying. I propose that the price should be cut by 50% to $30.00, which in my opinion would actually generate more users and more profit for the company at the end of the day. What does everyone else think? thanks Darren1 point

Practical condensed UTM explanation: Think of it as if you're looking at a paper mapsco book. (This isn't literal, but makes it practical) MM 12345 67891 MM = page 123 = Squares down the page 45 = meters down the '123' square 678 = Squares across the page 91 = meters across the '678' square They may give you MM123678. This gives you the grid but not the exact point within that grid, which is fine because it's only 99 meters. If the coords were MM 12345 06789 they may give you MM12367 because they drop the leading zero from 067 (on the bug list). You must still enter the 0 before 67 when entering into the CDU. You can enter UTM into your CDU by switching from L/L (lat/long) mode to UTM mode with LSK R9 (bottom right key). Then by entering the UTM coords in ten number, six number, or less, and selecting LSK L9 (bottom left key) to save them to the waypoint currently showing on the CDU. For more info see Military Map Reading 201 at the Geo-spacial Intelligence Website.1 point

They did know. Do you know how the USAF pilots were able to tell that the Iraqi MiGs knew? THose MiGs executed evasive maneuvers (Those piltos who knew what they were doing, there were those who were just flying straight to escape to Iran) when they were locked onto. One MiG-29 even got into position to launch on an F-15C, but (IIRC, and there I have no information) probably the TEWS prevented a launch. Finally, the MiG-29's in IRAQ almost always fought against equal or almost equal numbers of F-15's. Yes, there were others in place to pick up the fight if the first F-15's were shot down, but in general the engagements themselves saw equal numbers on both sides.1 point

Ran into a problem with my install. So opened the Protect.exe, and 'deactivated'. At the end it incidated '9 activations left' which was about right, since I had porked an install some time back, and did not 'deactivate' before the reinstall. This time i un-installed. Then re-installed full, same folder etc. Patched to 1.02, then ran the protect.exe again, and chose 'activate'. When it finished, it told me that i have 6 activations left. Why would a single install take me from 9 to 6 activations ?1 point

Hey guys. I`ve decided to create a JASDF skin for Gys` F-15. It will be based mainly on board number 82-8091 (one of my favourite :)). It will not be 100% identical due to the fact that the original is a two-seater F-15DJ and also because of the lack of close up high quality photos from all aspects. Make no mistake, it will be very close to the real one but some marks, stickers, etc. will be missing. The progress with the skin you can check on the screens below. I`m going to edit this post to replace old screens with new ones. It will take me probably about a week or more to finish it. It will be in a .zip file installable with ModMan (replacing one of the skins included with Gys`model). Thanks to Gys and Valery for the inspiration  Edit: screens updated Edit2: As you can see from the new screenshots I`m making the black-white skin too. Several people already asked me about it so here it is. :) There are several aircraft in JASDF with this kind of cammo. The ones that I know about are: 92-8906, 82-8904, 22-8936, 32-8081, and probably there are others too. These aircraft have similar looking black-white pattern cammo, with some slight differences. The skin I`m making is based on board number 32-8081. The black-green skin will be released first as it is almost ready and the black-white will be released shortly after. Edit3: The board number 82-8091 based skin is ready. Below are several download links and I`ll upload it to lockonfiles too. Some notes: The Modman package does not replace an existing skin it adds a new skin slot. A lot of thanks to Michelange for his help with the new skin slot creation. Without him I couldn`t have done it. A note about the marks. You`ll see the aircraft is all covered with them. This is how the real one is and I had to use numerous pics not only of 82-8091 but others too to reproduce them. A small amount of marks are not present because of the lack of close up pictures. For the most common mark type (I guess it`s a number of service lid) which count is over 100 I used the same number except around the intakes of which area I have pretty good photos. The reason is similar as the above stated - I don`t have close up high res photos of every inch of the aircraft and even if I did I would have needed a manual for the exact position and number of each of these 100-200 smallest marks, not to speak about the amount of time needed to do and place them. The other way to do it was to blur the mark so no number is visible. I don`t like blurry marks so what I could find in high res I put in on my skin even though the resolution of the skin 2048x2048 doesn`t allow a lot of the marks to be readable. That`s it for now, I`m working on the next skin (32-8081) but no promises for release date. The whole upper part is colored already. Download link for skin 82-8091: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php?/files/file/1644-gys-f-15-jasdf-skin-1-v2/ Edit4: new screens (32-8081) added Edit5: Skin #2 finished. Download link below. Notes: As I`ve already said the skin is based on board number 32-8081. I chose this one over the other similar black-white colored eagles in JASDF because of the more colorfully painted underside of the wings, the other ones are kind of... predominantly grey, and of course because of the higher quality pics of 32-8081 that I was able to find. Download link for skin 32-8081: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php?/files/file/1643-gys-f-15-jasdf-skin-2-v2 Edit6: Skin #3 finished. It is based on the standard JASDF light-dark grey camo. Board number 22-8932 from the 304th Hikotai (squadron). Further improvement of the marks in this skin. Next are 2 Aggressors skins, #4 (52-8088) and #5 (92-8095). Download link for skin 22-8932: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php?/files/file/1629-fc2-gys-f-15-jasdf-skin-3/ Edit7: Skin #4 finished. It is based on another aircraft from JASDF Aggressors squadron - 52-8088. Download link for skin #4 (52-8088 ): http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php?/files/file/1635-fc2-gys-f-15-jasdf-skin-4/ Edit8(24.08.2010): Version 2.0 of skins #1(82-8091) and #2(32-8081) have been released. Skins #3 and #4 had better detail, more marks, etc. This required the update of the first two skins. In v2.0 some marks have been improved, as well as the emblems, new marks added, some minor coloring inaccuracies have been fixed. With the number of marks reaching more than 500 for each skin they now have almost all the marks I wanted them to have and probably there won`t be any more updates of these 4 skins. Edit9 (24.11.2010): Skin #5 completed. Based on the paint scheme of 92-8095 from JASDF Aggressors squadron. Download link: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php?/files/file/1681-fc2-gys-f-15-jasdf-skin-5/ Edit10 (11.01.2011): Skin#6 completed. Based on the paint scheme of 02-8071 from JASDF Hiko Kyodotai (Agressor squadron): Download link: http://www.lockonfiles.com/index.php/files/file/1714-fc2-gys-f-15-jasdf-skin-6/1 point

Have you read the JTAC section in the flight manual starting at page 640? The most simplified way I can put it is: Contact JTAC and check-in. Wait for the 9-line to finish and after a short pause, they will say "advise when ready for remarks and further talk-on" Use the radio to say you're ready for remarks After receiving remarks, use the radio to provide the 9-line readback. JTAC will confirm readback okay, and say 'standby data'. You'll then receive a message on both MFCDs saying NEW TASKING; acknowledge this with the ack OSB at the bottom right or TMS LEFT SHORT. On your TAD, you will have a WILCO and a CNCMP option on the left and right. Use the WILCO option to accept the tasking. You'll see a red triangle on the TAD. Make the TAD the SOI, use the throttle slew control to put the cursor over the triangle, use TMS UP SHORT to hook the triangle, and then TMS UP LONG to make it the SPI. Use CHINA HAT FWD LONG to slew everything to the SPI (i.e. location of that triangle). At this point, your targeting pod will pointing at the coordinates the JTAC provided. Use it to locate the precise position of your target(s). Exactly how you prosecute the attack depends on the type of control in effect and how the target is marked; I'd suggest reading page 642 at the very least. If you just go in guns blazing without following procedure your JTAC will tell you to abort.1 point
