1. The reason fo the high factor is because these have VERY high prox ranges in relation to their explosive weight е.

Anyway, i made a file which includes every airport on the map and data will be displayed as follows; Airport Name: Anapa Frequency: 121.000 Call: URKA Civil What one will see on the MFD will be; Anapa 121.000 URKA Civil Guduata 130.000 UG23 Military Madok 137.000 XRMF Military etc, etc etc for every airport on the map. Airports air listed in alphabetical order. Download from attachments. Unpack .RAR file and place contents in same folder as the Frequency ScratchPad.exe Open the Frequency ScratchPad and go to "file" "load" and select the Airport Frequencys.fcy file Enjoy Airport Frequencys.rar

  21. Updated first post with new version -added save/load feature -added the ability to stay allways-on-top of other windows. -first text field will be selected when alt-tabing to the application -pressing enter will move the caret to the next text field -pressing enter at the 'remark' textfield will automatically save a new entry and focus the first text field -another bug-fix for restart service I'm having this aswell. The MFD goes blank after I save a new value. Do not know what is the cause. But file->restart service does fix it for me. It's only doing it after reboot. @159th_Falcon I'm lost here, don't see any reason why it doesn't work :(. Do you have the SST sw, or anything else that interacts with the MFD installed?

  23. I've searched around... There used to be a .pdf around explaining HSI and IFR nav and I can't seem to find it now. It got erased before installing a card that could handle this sim... Patch crashes me on impact of just about every weapon :( so...I thought I might match my wits to something else. A link or two would be a big help. 24.

  25. Much of the procedure is the same from the UTM coordinate entry (post #4 in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68946), so I took the liberty of pasting my UTM tutorial here and changing the relevant parts. Use a mission data card to get all the info on the Lat/Long coordinates and the specific weapon, direction of attack, direction of egress and weapon requested. To make the Lat/Long coordinate provided by JTAC into a waypoint do the following: Find a safe area to do a wide orbit. Set your autopilot to ALT and then make a left or right banking level turn and hold it. Then engage the autopilot and ensure it is holding the turn and you have no elevation conflicts around you. The Lat/Long coordinates will be in the form of 2 sets of 7 numbers. The first set is the North coordinates, the second set is the East coordinates. You will see a N and a E next to OSB 16 and OSB 17 to help you enter the coordinates in their proper places. Make sure your STEER PT switch on your AAP Panel is set to FLT PLAN. Set your right MFCD to the CDU repeater function. Check OSB 10 to ensure L/L (Lat/Long) is displayed. Hit OSB 9 to select the number presented next to the question mark as your new target waypoint. Using the CDU or the UFC, enter the first set of numbers without spaces in the scratchpad. This is your North set of coordinates. Hit OSB 17 to enter the coordinate in to the computer. (Note the N at the beginning of the string) Verify the number entered is correct. Using the CDU or the UFC, enter the second set of numbers without spaces in the scratchpad. This is your East set of coordinates. Note: When entering the East set of coordinates it is sometimes necessary to add a 0 to the beginning of the coordinate. For example, the coordinate given as: 42 58 38 will need to be entered as 042 58 38. I am not sure why this is, but if you do not do this, you will get a "Input Error" in the scratchpad. Hit OSB 16 to enter the coordinate in to the computer. (Note the E at the beginning of the string) Verify the number entered is correct. Using the CDU or UFC keypad give your new waypoint a unique name eg: TGT A and hit OSB 7 to change the name. Now turn your STEER PT dial on the AAP from FLT PLAN to MISSION. Use the UFC STEER rocker or with the HUD as SOI, DMS UP to cycle thru the waypoints until you see the unique name you created for this target. Find your target waypoint symbol on the TAD and then use the steering cue's on the HUD to prosecute your attack. EDIT #1: I created a Powerpoint Tutorial provided in the link below as a PDF that covers this post and adds some pictures and helpful info. 34. Depends on vfs regulations versus RL. For example. In the 74th, on the ground at homebase we have Nav Lights on steady, Anti Collision strobe flashing and formation lights (luminous strips). During the day, 'no' nosewheel steering light. Once taken off and after positive climb, gear up, flaps up afterwards (pretty much immediate depending on weight loading) and then the Anti Collision Strobe light off. Upon Ingress and as part of FENCE procedure, Nav Lights go off. Formation lights remain on. If you are returning back to homebase and you are in trouble - that is to say, shot up, 1 wing, generally 'mission screwed', your nav lights go to flash along with your Anti Collision lights. This is to visually warn people in the 'sim' (read my sqn) that you are on finals and in trouble. Especially poingnant if for example you are using TARS and have no radio / TS. On a normal Finals, Nav Lights on to steady, Anti Collision strobe to flash. Real life? As far as I am aware (only really taking notice at FMB / COB type locations - Herrick; Bastion, Kandahar, Telic; BASRA COB, NI; Aldergrove, the 74th procedure is correct in relation to Military Airbase Ground Discipline, except the Anti Collision strobe light turned on only when taxi-ing. In the 74th, we turn it on as part of the startup procedure. Finally, Definitions. Anti Collision Strobe Light - Flashing 1 sec on, 1 sec on, L & R wing Alternating, White 'strobe' light for 1/4 sec. Navigation Lights - RED and GREEN lights either end of your wingtips. Formation Lights - Luminous Strips Lets not forget that this is a machine of war and as such should not be 'lit' up like a christmas tree when engaging Targets of flying in hostile space. Apart from the AI being 'able' to get a better lock and track you (oh yes they can, i`ve trialled it), so can of course, the human being! Regards 'T'

  42. Hi all, I'm BR, 33, Rookie with a capital R, and I'm just getting into this sim as I finally have a rig that is somewhat capable of running it. Tbh, I had absolutely NO idea what I was getting into, and if I had known beforehand I'd probably have thought twice about purchasing. I enjoy gaming, but when it ventures into the area of so much academics I find the effort required to get the fullest experience is not met by what games can really provide. But as I watch videos of this on Youtube, I desperately wish to become proficient at it, as it's blatantly obvious it gives back as much as it takes to learn it. Now I knew it would be somewhat technical, sure, a few switches here and there, but not a damn PhD course. Granted I've only had it for about two days and am just beginning to familarize myself with the cockpit and switches, and have printed out the 400+ page manual, but even with this aid (which is by no means the "KA-50 for Dummies" edition) I am admittedly still very lost. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to get the fullest out of this sim, it is incredibly intimidating and at this point I'm in way over my head. Don't even get me started on the ARMIS, radio, and navigation systems, they seem like courses in themselves. I can't even boot them up, and the explanations in the manual leave me more confused than anything else. I suppose I could fly casual but find the satisfaction that PC gaming affords comes through such in-depth endevours, and feel bypassing it would rob me of most of the enjoyment. I've never played a "game" where I've been unable to play until I've studied for days and days (maybe even weeks) before even booting it up. With that said, I have a few questions hopefully some of you can answer. I've looked on the boards for remedies and couldn't find any solutions, so I apologize if I am asking for what may have already been addressed. Some are probably very stupid and elementary I know, but so it goes: 1) How do I start out on the ground, everything off, so I can familarize myself with the cold-start procedure? Campaign starts me in a hover, the mission folder is empty, and training is simply videos downloaded. I suppose I could use the editor but have not even begun to give it consideration as I'd like to grasp the basics first. Is the missions folder supposed to be empty? Am I required to DL them from this site as I did for the training vids? 2) I cannot for the life of me assign the collective to my throttle. I'm using a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X. I go into the options and see that the game recognizes that the joystick's there, and everything else works (pitch, roll, yaw), but for some reason when I try to assign collective up or down it just won't recognize any input. Is there some special way of going about this? I tried assigning it to my hat switch, it acknowledged them however still didn't work in-game campaign, but I have a suspicion the engine RPM was not high enough or it's being caused by some other small tiny detail that I'm overlooking from inexperience. That may well be the case with the throttle as well, but it does not show the axis at all whereas with the buttons it shows them. 3) What's the best way to get familiar with start-up? As I understand it, there's a simple way (requiring no prep?), and a pro (requiring checklists, tests). I'm thinking of watching a youtube video and just following what they're doing, but there's really no explanation there. Is there a GUI printout with a list, showing what button should be pressed in what order? :helpsmilie:Seriously. I so want to get good at this, but at this point it's seemingly impossible. Hopefully one day I'll be able to :pilotfly: Thanks for any and all advice and help.

  45. Had a short Look on it You are Tracking the targets to low in my opinion for this very short Distance. The Vikhr missile is spinning around the Laser Beam and ride into the Target it needs some time (or Range)to find the hmmm lets say its rythm :) in its spin to get as close to the middle of the beamride as it can. At short Distance it can crash into ground befor it hit the Target or misses it above and crashes behind it. Next Point is you are not really waiting befor you can have a look maybe those tanks in the track are burning they explode later then. Greetz =STP= Isegrim
