As it says, I made the Tu-22M3 flyable. I hated the lack of wing sweep, so I wrote a avLuaDevice script (sweep.lua) to follow a schedule something like it would be in real life. They only have 3 settings, 20, 30 (I think) and 65 degrees. It's the Su-25T cockpit, so it's functional and that's it. It will release the bombs on the racks ok, but if you manage to get all the bombs in the bomb bay to let go as a salvo, you go boom! You will need to add the Su-25T's shape and texture files and rename accordingly. If they ever get the air to ground radar working in DCS, I'm going to town on this thing. It was a total mistake by the Russians. They thought the ship was the USS Donald Trump. :lol:1 point

Lua table entries do not have any defined order. The mist.utils.serialize function uses pairs() to iterate over the table entries, which returns the items in whatever order they happen to be in memory (which might depend on the order they were inserted and/or on some internal hash function). You could make a copy of the mist.utils.serialize function and replace the call to pairs() with ipairs(). That would output numeric keys in order, but skip non-numeric keys. To make it work with arbitrary tables, which may include non-numeric keys, you would have to first build a list of all keys and sort it. This wiki page has more information on ways to serialize tables in Lua, but at a quick glance I could not see a solution that (a) sorted keys, (b) produced machine-readable data (i.e. valid Lua) and © was written in pure Lua code.1 point

Their Compatibility Tool is Super Strict, Like Extremely Strict. I ran Rift, the demos, and DCS on my Server box the last week, The Server Box is a PhenomII 2 Core CPU at 2.4GHz, an Underclocked AMD 7950 GPU,. and 16GB of Ram, Server box's function is a small media server for my network (TV and Movies) It's Choppy, but it works for the demos and smaller games, DCS I had to drop everything to lowest to get 30 fps, but I dont have Hotas on the server box, so It's pointless, I just wanted to checkout the demo's and stuff while I waited for adapters to ship for my gaming rig. On that note, the MAJOR Issue that alot of people are runnning into is USB3 controllers, ASMedia and Eltron are extremely problematic, Eltron USB3 drivers will blue screen your system either immediately after you plug in the HMD, or it will lock up the driver and you're system's USB3 ports will no longer detect devices as they are attached or removed, and eventually blue screen when the driver times out. If you want to see how DCS Will do in VR (as a general rule of thumb, as some stuff can't be simulated w/o the actual runtime and HMD). Run DCS in Stereo Mode.1 point

Don't be surprised if your comment is moderated. This thread is to discuss the Rift in DCS. It is not a support forum for the Rift recommended system requirements... Nor should people be discussing eBay prices with that policy in mind. I guess some slip through the net. I think you'd get away with it. Unless you need multi core performance though I'd switch to a 6700k (or equivalent at time of upgrade) to save a lot of money and have the current gen architecture. As you're probably aware... most gaming applications are still heavily influenced by a single thread so the 6 cores won't be doing you any favours for Rift (yet) which is perhaps why it's flagged.1 point

According to the manual he's quoting, those buttons will sometimes illuminate after engine start even though there isn't a problem. Don't know what the situation was in the picture you saw. Here's a (mine) translation of the top half of Esac_mirmidon's image from the manual including the section he has "boxed": These aren't backup channels. They are the various system subchannels each controlling their piece of the FCS. I think that's what he was trying to get across in describing each light as referencing a particular system-axis.1 point

I think that's because it didn'T feel like a big step for many users, especially those that were flying the A-10C before. The first version of DCSW felt almost the same as the last BS1 and last A-10C versions. You guessed 2009 because that was when Black Shark was released.1 point

Tested this morning and, it seems, that repairs are made to the airframe. I stressed the airframe to 13 Gs and landed. Requested repairs and, 32 minutes later, was told that repairs were complete. Took off and flew repeated 8 & 9 G maneuvers without incident. Prior to requesting repairs, attempting those maneuvers resulted in wing damage.1 point

yep, launch Steam in the Vive headset (click on the system button on the controller once) and look for the settings (up right corner) then VR Settings, General VR Settings. There should be a line which if you click on it will reset the seated position. (Click here to reset seated position). Other way to do it, press 5 key in the numpad :D Cheers, e.1 point

Yes* It depends on the capabilities of each individual sam site. The Buk is rather unique in that the launcher has a tracking radar built in along with an optical tracking system. As a generalization complex sams require a search radar (SR), tracking radar(TR), launcher (LN) and if available command centers(CC) to fully function. Not all complex sams have a CC object, so the requirement is down to whether that object exists for that type of sam site. At somepoint with 1.5 the HAWK received new 3d models and 2 new objects, one of which was a CC and as a side effect it broke old missions because the HAWK now required a CC to fire. The workflow is basically SR>CC>TR>LN. Which brings us back to the Buk. Because the launcher has a tracking radar built in and an optical sight it can independently acquire targets without the aide of the search radar and the CC to communicate said targets to the launcher. Keep in mind it has to visually acquire the target to engage it, which will typically be closer than its minimum firing range. It is also worth noting that if a tracking radar is tracking a target when the search radar gets destroyed, it will likely keep tracking the target and it is possible that it will engage.1 point

Well, that mission is not exactly the best example of one when you should be doing a full alignment ;)1 point

I have had problems with ASO pod not working if loaded up with 42 flares and 22 chaff (even though that should be the default ratio). Try it without changing the flare and chaff amount to see if it works.1 point
-
Also you have to hold the button down for a while before it will start to drop countermeasures.1 point
-
It's working okay for me. Equip an ASO-2 pod in your loadout, press right-shift + J to open the cover as Britchot says, then hold left-ctrl+ space to launch two flares and one chaff.1 point

I'm quite removed from my computer and haven't had a chance to fly the current release but do you have the SPRD cover open?1 point
