Great news on the liveries! I understand. It's just weird when you put 7000+ hrs into a DLC, but leaving the biggest avionic feature (the radar) totally untouched. Anyways, these are just my impressions...10 points

Let's start with the good stuff. Cockpit looks really nice and the texturing is great. External model looks good and up to modern standards. Pilot body seems fine, I usually don't fly with it on. Now on to the not so good parts... Radar an clutter representation - Not Remastered. They didn't even try to tweak the textures into something more realistic. Sounds - Not Remastered. Tbh, they are ok, except the cannon sounds. Liveries - Down to 7(!), mostly variants of grey. No Vietnam or Iranian liveries included out of the box. These are my first impressions. The cockpit looks great and so does the external model. Do I consider it a true Remaster? Sadly, no. It feels more like a polish.8 points

it would be nice if the F5E got an updated radar simulation. I kept hearing Heatblur was supposed to offer thier pulse radar simulation tech to ED? So it could be adapted to ther modules like the F5? With how the Swiss F5E model was shown off with the new dorsal antenna on the 3d model it was also speculated there would be additional features like Digital radio and INS. guess not. But it makes sense why the cockpit was not shown off until the release of the F5E "remaster", people would of realized they are only paying for a visual update, something you got for free with past modules like A10C or Ka50. ED used to only charge money if the "upgrade" included a new variation with some new extra features.7 points

V12 is NOT compatible with 2.9.10.3948. I'm working on updating the mod right now and hopefully have it out soon. The new fog is a big improvement, but it's still a little buggy. I've noticed some flickering in the fog and artifacts in the cloud rendering so far.6 points

Given EDs huge developement backlog and the amount of stuff that was supposed to be out by now according to ED themselves (Vulkan 2024 anyone? GFM to come in 2022..etc etc ) I dont care much anymore for what they tease. I would go for more delivering and less teasing /hyping. And seriously prefer Nick Grey not doing the "passion and support" talk bit again .It is a bit tone-deaf and ill fitting by now.6 points

The update today seems to have brought back a previously known bug in the flight model. During landing any roll input induces exaggerated yaw coupling. I haven't tested it yet for slow flight with gear retracted. This is a critical issue, please fix it as soon as possible, thanks. See the attached track. landing.trk5 points

I find statements like this to be extremely disappointing, and a large reason why I have stopped buying DCS and especially ED products. Your newsletter stated, I quote, "Fully modelled weapons and sensor systems. ", "Both the DCS: F-5E Remaster and the existing DCS: F-5E will receive many improvements and fixes including certain corrections to radar operation....and more", "Numerous bug fixes and tunings such as damage modelling, sensors, and avionics". It may not be an outright statement that you would bring the radar up from the standards of 10+ years ago but surely you can see why users would have that expectation upon reading that announcement no?5 points

We all work very hard and are passionate about the work we do, some of us including myself have been doing this for well over a decade, we also get disappointed when things dont go to plan, but if we see any issue that will break DCS its always best to delay and sort the issue out. And as you mentioned even the mega corporations have bad days No matter what happens, we hope you enjoy DCS, and continue to have fun.5 points

Police OH-6 FBI mission: One thing which would be nice to maybe improve at some stage is the rotor animations. Occasionally they make me think my game is running at 20fps when you look at them. I think that along with a VR pilot body, would basically make the mod look like it's a payware module, which it honestly should be! Thanks again for your efforts Eightball and tobi. Guilty. Of course I once or twice took a day off in anticipation of a big (content-)update. Half of the time it worked out, half the time it didn't. But when you are around long enough, you get more experienced and more chill about it and stop doing stupid things like that. Software developement is incredible complex and you will never stop finding errors if you keep searching. The key is to catch as many showstoppers as possible before release, which is why you keep on looking until the last possible moment. It's just the nature of the beast.4 points

ИМХО вы излишне категоричны) Как мне кажется, достаточно много игроков, которых устраивает уровень реализма на уровне Су-25Т (хорошая проработка ФМ + системы вооружения и навигации которые позволяют просто долететь до цели пострелять). Это связанно с тем что полноценные модули требуют очень много времени на изучение. А во взрослой жизни, времени извечно не хватает. Как мне тут недавно сказал один знакомый: я на новых модулях почти не летаю - так как в лом осваивать да и времени нет. Да и много тех кто летает на полноценных модулях, но освоил их тока в том объёме, который позволяет летать и не падать и пострелять - т.е. глубоко не капая в системы навигации, радио и прочего. Ну и не забывайте, что такие вот модули это наверное единственный шанс получить современные Российские машины (например Су-30СМ/35) в ДКС. Так как тут можно избежать проблем с секретностью. Чет мне кажется что если бы ЕД сейчас сделали Су35С/30СМ на уровне Су25Т - онлайн был бы забит игроками на этих машинах. Ну вот мне тоже интересно где можно полетать на современных боевых самолёта/вертолётах и что бы была не такая аркада как Вартандер. По сути DCS - это единственный в мире симулятор современной боевой авиации.4 points

With the release of the F-5E-3 Remaster, I started my standard MP mission updates for patch day and noted many missing skins from the updated version for countries like Iran and South Korea. I assume the new textures do not work well with the older skins as many of the older F-5E-3 skins have not been included in today's update. Will we see more skins added at a later date?3 points

I just bought the remaster module, thanks ED for the new model and effects! But, I'm dissappointed that ED has not added new weaponry and avionics, that are typically in some F5-E3, like the Swiss one that is in the advertising. This is maybe the first paid upgrade without such kind of improvements, in DCS? I bought the remaster upgrade anyway, but I still hope, that you are going to add more meat to the remaster module. Huh. The good: there now is a kinda-sorta multiple object select in ME. From an UX perspective it’s an almost comically inept implementation. if it wasn’t so sad, that is. Seems to me that interface design and DCS simply don’t mix.3 points

i just tested it in the Syria Map in VR with the OG Pimax Crystal and the Performance is very good. I didnt notice any FPS drops and i set a lot of dust/fog. I think its even better as before on the perfomance side. Dont know if they adjusted VR performance too or if its the new Pimax software update3 points

A short debriefing on the revised F-5. First of all, I would like to thank you for taking a look at the somewhat outdated jets again at ED. The F-5 has turned out really nice. The cockpit and exterior model look really good. And if I may say so, the skin for the Austrian Air Force is really cool. Thanks for that. BUT: the rework should have included a new radio and at least the VOR/ILS system. Unfortunately, as a package it is a bit thin. And what I personally find worst of all...the radar still uses the old and unfortunately unbelievably ugly clutter model. The sweep isn't really pretty either. And that is even more noticeable now with the new and really nice cockpit. You can't leave it like that at ED... at least you have to rework the clutter and sweep. There is now even a MOD that does it better and makes it much more beautiful. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the IC when using said MOD. So please consider to improve this. Otherwise, a big thank you for the rework.3 points

No. Smart Scaling was intended to make the aspect of small-to-medium objects more realistically identifiable. It is not a spotting solution — it's a simulation of perception to accurately convey cues used for tracking an already clearly visible target. Scaling is not about making objects visible — the objects are already visible so that would be pointless. As long as you assume that is about object visibility, you are objectively wrong and any everything that follows from that assumption — all claims, arguments, and options — are incorrect and absolute nonsense. Zoom does not do what scaling does, nor does scaling do what zoom does. That's why zoom is a separate thing that exists alongside scaling (and why proper scaling algorithms take zoom into account and-counter-scale to remove the effect). It would help your case if you read up what scaling is and what it does so you don't make such silly mistakes out of sheer ignorance about the topic. …which is exactly how it woks for everything else that isn't a background object. An aircraft carrier is not a background object, and as such would be scaled to match as well — not that you'd be able to notice at the distances where it's really active. You'd know this if you had any idea what smart scaling is; what it does; what its design intent is; how it works; or… anything about it really. Graphics in a simulation should obviously… you know… simulate what you see. Otherwise the result is unrealistic by very definition. Why is this even a question? Not quite. It is now becoming a resolution problem in the opposite direction, where naively using “real” angles and scales creates a hugely unrealistic outcome because the game renders — and the display shows — far smaller details than you should be shown. As such, the rendering pipeline can't just throw pixels on the screen where they “should” be according to maths; it has to simulate the limits of perception to not put pixels in where they shouldn't be seen. Scaling is an increasingly more necessary part of that package unless you want to create jarring transitions from one state to another, with the target popping in and out of different degrees of visibility, and unless you want to introduce harmful differences between different display systems and setups. It is obviously not the only solution, but there is really nothing else that can do the same thing in its particular range band.3 points

I think ED should have waited until the so-called “final inspection” was completely finished before announcing that the update would be coming the next day. ED's rhetoric gives the impression that he's being rushed. Kind of has happened many times, announcing the exact date and then postponing the release date again and again, which can seriously undermine players' confidence in ED, especially after the F15E incident. I find this practice unthinkable and I'm sure there will be people who will change their work or vacation time because of the update, which wastes not only our time but also the efficiency of ED.3 points

Sorry haven't been around past few weeks. Yes I have the slugmouse, had it for a few months now, used it daily in DCS, I use it in the Apache a lot. I've gotten extremely good and quick with using it. I just can't get the power levers to move to idle so I use voice attack command for that. Otherwise everything works smoothly and I can't... I repeat CAN'T play without them in DCS. Just imagine the benefit of flying with a cyclic in vr in a helicopter and not having to take your hand off the cyclicbto find the mouse, find the cursor. I just use my left hand for basically everything unless I am in a trimmed hover or on the ground. Any specific questions hit me up, I'll try and pay more attention to the forums. Had some changes in life lately so I've been away from my pc.3 points

Status update Thanks everyone for the kind words, I really appreciate it! I had fun making these assets, especially the helicopter. And speaking of the Mi-28N, my friend @xboxshark21 noticed that its rotor sound is missing. It seems like I made a typo in the configuration.
