  1. on my case what I find bitter is that this attitude of "never enough" has became commonplace within this community … everywhere I see someone planning an F-4E the voices raise instantly: "why not an F-4B instead" or why not a modernized F-4 used by just a single country? … or someone cames out with a b747 livery, instantly I can see "why not an iranian 747?, or an F-104 is announced, and there it is "I want a pristine cockpit", etc, etc ….

  5. Since ED began to announce the production of F35, I have been looking up some difficulties about the production of F35 almost every day. I think it is not completely hopeless that ED can produce some EW content; Through the integration of various materials in the past two weeks, I have obtained some working logic of F35 IEWS EA:Like the ALQ184 on the F16CM, the IEWS performs an electronic attack in a highly automated manner: the ASQ239 detects the enemy radar signal and geocalizes it with high precision, transmitting the location data to the APG81, which then performs electronic jamming based on that location data.Noise jamming is used to physically destroy the enemy radar receiving equipment (destroy the LNA), Deception jamming is used to interfere with the enemy radar by providing false target information.If the enemy radar band is low or outside the jamming Angle of the APG81, the ASQ239's built-in antennas perform jamming (due to the size of these antennas, they can only perform self-protect jamming).The whole process is highly automated and the pilot does not need to do anything. The core function of the entire system is that the aircraft can automatically pinpoint enemy radar via RWR(APG-81 MFA/ASQ239 ESM receiver) and control the ECM system(APG-81 MFA/ASQ239 jamming transmiter) to conduct targeted electronic attacks (ECM interference) based on this location data, which is very practical, it saves a lot of jamming energy, and makes it possible to physically destroy enemy radar receiving equipment by jamming noise. The aircraft might able to determine when and in what mode (SP/EA) and how (ASQ239 antenna /MFA) to interfere by the pilot's setting of some TWD options,which may be related to the "OPER" symbol at the top of the TWD page (similar to the ECM PWR switch on the F16?) and the "SEP" symbol at the bottom (toggle EA/SP?). The "INIT" symbol displayed in the TWD thumbnail may represent a working state that interferes with the system (perhaps initiated? Similar to the green ECM ENBL light on F16?) As for the "COOL" symbol, I really don't know what it might mean...

  7. We're done. We've told you what you need to provide in order to first effect review and thereafter - potentially - change. EVIDENCE. And no, "trust me dude, PvP servers don't like Phoenix" does not count, as surprising as that may seem to you. Demonstrate the problem, with repeatable examples in various .trk files. On top of that actually provide data for examples of what it should be (if you can find it). You have done literally zero of the above and as such your legitimacy is at rock-bottom and from this point forward you will struggle to make anyone in this community even bother to listen. So, before you yet again basically repeat exactly what you wrote in your OP just worded slightly differently, let me remind you that simply repeating the same thing over and over and over again doesn't actually make it objectively true. Repeated testing of evidential data against a hypothesis does. Which you have done none of.

Незачёт. Зато слов надёргали сильно больше чем нужно) Если вы такие уж великие делатели погоды (я про динамическую) то потрудились бы хотя бы что-то написать про сие творение безумного гения. Хотя бы приближенно вменяемое и пригодное к практическому применению. Была указана конкретная проблема - автоматическое усиление ветра вдвое. ЗАЧЕМ? ответ - "Градиент ветра по высоте у земли в среднем именно такой" это не ответ, это "температура по больнице" надеюсь с этим хотя бы вы не спорите. А точнее ваш ответ явственно звучит так(между строк) - "потому что Я так хочу". Другого нет и быть не может) Мы смиряемся - ибо спорить в таком случае бесполезно, НО отсуствие желания услышать пользователе налицо. Впрочем как всегда. Вас всего то просили разблокировать эту опцию. Или у вас волосы на спине выпадут от того что у нас появится возвожность ставить требуемую НАМ а не ВАМ погоду? Всего нужно было написать - да сделаем, или нет не сделам. А вот эти все понты (кстати достаточно бестолковые и так и не прояснившие сути вопроса) Зачем это было сделано - абсолютно непонятно. От слова совсем. Вот сегодня на 12 часов дня срез ветра, и как это можно реализвоать в ВАШЕМ ЧУДО-ГЕНИАЛЬНОМ ПОГОДНОМ ДВИЖКЕ????   10. You've got it exactly. It really depends on the turn. Most turns in real life don't need to be signaled. What the DCS AI does is essentially "Break Left!" (or right... or goes to max performance climb or dives), which you don't do in tight formation, at least not without some kind of warning (hand signals typically because you're close enough to see them, or possibly the plane). In parade (i.e. tight), you never use maximum performance anything. Lead's max throttle setting should be 80-85% or so, lest the dreaded "lead, gimme a few inches" call. Wing always needs a performance advantage over lead in order to stay with him, because you don't really fly in formation, rather you constantly correct to get back into formation. Also, most of the changes are briefed ("at Waypoint 1 we are going to make a 1.5 g turn to heading of XXX, and begin a climb to XX feet"; "at the IP, I'll expect you to move to echelon left in prep for an overhead right break"), so wing already knows what is going to happen. Also, in real life you are only in parade where people are watching: around the field, around the boat, in front of a crowd. The rest of the time you're in a loose "travel" formation (or combat spread). When I was learning formation, my IP/Lead would call things on the radio at first, then he would ALWAYS use hand signals, and then after a few sorties, he'd start relying on wing rocks, tail wiggles, wing dips, etc. After a few more, it would be just on the briefing. But that took three-five sorties. In the newer campaigns, Reflected has done a great job of turning down the AI to allow one to stay with them. I've tried that in the ME myself, and it can mostly be made to work, but is very time consuming to work out, and is still limited by what the AI is coded to do. In order to really make this work like normal, the AI would need to have a mode for "lead in a tight formation" which would reduce him to 85% power, +/- 10 degrees of pitch and 10-15 degrees per second roll (or something like that. Remember, the AI often also has a different flight model than you do; "he" is flying a different airplane). I suspect that is not something ED is going to be able (or want) to code. Given the limitations, I think Reflected has done a great job, and keeps getting better with this. In MiG Killers, I can pretty much ALWAYS stay with my lead no matter what (the fact that the briefing and strict procedures tells me what he is going to do also helps, but that's real life). This sounds like the next level, and I am really looking forward to seeing it in action.

  15. The ZPU series is the last missing piece of post-war soviet AAA. It's a 14,5*114 gun and comes in single, dual or quad-barreled versions. Somewhat related to this, DCS also needs blufor "equivalents", namely GPMGs or HMGs in AAA mounts. For example the M2 or MG3 (Picture below: MG3 in "Zwillingslafette" AAA mount) Thanks!

  16. No, I'm not sure where you saw me saying that at all. You're not making much sense here. Like I said, the missile motor performance is from the data we have and it matches well with actual real life shots in tests in DCS. And like I also said we know there are some issues with guidance and seekerhead performance that we would like fixed but that's not something we could fix on our side, we need EDs help for that. So the end state would be a slightly better missile than what we currently have if/when that's fixed. And no, I don't really care about buffing or nerfing the missile, that's not in any way how we model our systems. We look at trying to make it more realistic than it is. You don't have to agree with that but we're also not gonna change anything just because you "feel" something about it or disagree about it. That's why I asked for data supporting any claims you've made about changing the missile. Because if you don't have those we're not gonna act on them. We model the missile from the data we have, not the feelings of people on the net. If that makes some servers remove it because they feel it's too powerful and they want to balance their mission instead of focusing on realism, that's absolutely fine. But we're not going to artificially "nerf" the missile just to "balance" it.

  17. Thanks Shurik, I really enjoyed making this so it's nice to know others are enjoying it too. Surprised myself how well it came out, looks awesome all lit up. Worthy of sharing now I think. I've made another nice improvement - the lights centre of the main pads didn't fit the space. Thought of a nice solution and it fits much better. Had to share, you gotta have the latest and greatest.   20. So sorry to hit you with another update but I found a couple lights that were causing performance issues so had to be removed. The lights facing the fronts of the main pads, towards the tyres were causing regular spiking in my FPS counter when flying over them. Only happened after several minutes of flying around but kept happening and wasn't good. While I was in, I added a few more exterior lights facing inwards and one between the containers by the big hide. Looks better balanced lighting now and no performance issues. I've flown over the whole thing at low level again for a while, keeping an eye on my FPS graph. It's flying nice and smooth despite the number of lights. That's a good trick when building like this in the editor. Your FPS graph will quickly pick out and highlight any objects that are problematic. For example I tried putting in some static aircraft for effect but quickly found out they're FPS killers. Static Apaches and Hueys were liveable but the Kiowa and Gazelle caused major spiking whenever I flew close to them. The static Chinook is unusable - made my DCS crash every time I put it in. Still having problems with the flyable Chinook in here too. Hmmm Been a bit of an "early access" journey for you I'm afraid. Sorry bout that. This is the proper final now though, 100% sure. Fully tweaked and checked, good to go. Any more editing can be done by you. Feel free to edit it in any way you want. If you don't like something, change it. Good bones to work on though. Enjoy.   21. Not sure how you arrive at such a conclusion from his post. He wrote the changes were to the AWG-9, not to the seekerhead of the AIM-54. He also said there are yet-to-be improved inaccuracies with the seekerhead and guidance , which are currently under-, not overperforming.

Забывая, что этому обозначению соответствует диапазон 3-7 kts, Т.е. больше чем двукратное изменение ветра вполне впишется в эти обозначения. Т.е. у вашей "линейки" слегка великовата цена деления. И вообще, практическая ценность вашего поста нулевая, если не отрицательная. Вы опять навалили кучу эпитетов с оценкой морального и профессионального облика разработчиков, но ни разу не привели ни одного вменяемого довода, подкрепленного чем-то бОльшим, чем ваши хотелки и словарным запасом гопника ("колотить понты"). Почему так - ну потому что оспорить Матвеева у вас не получится, как не получится и оспорить тот факт, что ветер ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО замедляется в приземном слое, если его направление поворачивается. Ну просто потому, что это чистая механика движения воздуха в градиенте давления, а не средняя температура. Да, количественно это зависит от шероховатости поверхности, в частности, но не настолько, чтобы это существенно отличалось от средней кривой. Возвращаясь от содержания к форме, думаю, что манера, в которой построены ваши посты, уже впрямую нарушает некоторые правила форума, поэтому дальнейшая дискуссия с вами для меня закончена. В заключение, касаясь вашего изящного хода про среднюю температуру по больнице, привожу опять же усредненные, но на значительно меньших промежутках времени, наборы данных, снятых в разное время суток и года. Надеюсь, что теперь всем будет понятно, для чего ее увеличивают на высоте именно в два раза. null

  28. While I can absolutely understand you it also kinda makes me not want to be here if I'm gonna get pinged in for everything. I'm no longer really a paid member of the team (for various reasons) and only remain as I still have an interest in the F-14 and to help out with research and other SME stuff because I like doing it. So I don't really have any time for handling error reports etc. At this point in time the Discord is much more active and should probably be regarded as the primary source of information and reporting stuff. At least stuff gets added much quicker there and responded to. But that said I do know that the guys do check in here as well. In general the dev cycle for the DCS modules isn't that quick so at many times it will seem like you're not getting any answers but afaik everything is still tracked and added to the fix lists when possible. It just takes time and sometimes it won't get fixed until it fits into the plan for changing things in the module unless it's a gamebreaking bug.

  31. Still wasn't happy with it so it's had another overhaul. This one is for desert terrain but can be changed easily for greener lands. Changed everything to desert paint as far as I could. Infantry still have green in their uniform but chose one that had at least desert colours in it. Changed out the vehicles for better selection and added a couple tanks guarding plus an MRAP patrol at the gate waiting to go out. The major change is the lighting. I've done a very comprehensive lighting install and it looks amazing at night. Jump in at the mission time of 5:10am and see what you think. Only on Syria at the moment.   34. CH, your Ukraine Asset Pack has really helped breathe life into my Russo-Ukraine War Retribution campaign. Could I suggest adding an upgraded Su-25 to the pack? It would be a great complement to your Su-27, Su-24, and MiG-29 (which are all fantastic).

  35. I finally managed to find more than just the usual supersonic charts that the F-104G manuals typically come with. The data is for the -3B engine F-104A (so lighter but noticeably less powerful) with two sidewinders, but it tracks with the rest of the info in this thread - depending on weight, at sea level it'll hold ~6G without maneuvering flaps between Mach 0.8 and 0.9, so that works out to ~12 or so deg/s sustained turn rate. There's some caveats between different engines, maneuvering flaps, etc etc, but yeah, not too shabby for a 1950s supersonic aircraft supposedly incapable of turning. Also, the stick shaker kicking in at Mach 0.6/0.7 is hilarious, it really shows how useful the addition of combat flaps was. Definitely don't try 1 circle fights.

Hi, I've examined the log: the crash maybe due to missing cartridge generation and this behaviour is often caused by special characterset like the ö contained in the username of your PC profile: you can try to move the special folder of Saved Games out from Users\username folder, in the root of C:\ for example or in another disk. nullGo to C:\Users\*your username*, select Saved Games, right-click and choose Properties In Saved Games Properties go to Location tab, and modify the location of the folder. Then click Ok and confirm the creation of the folder: this will move the folder out of users correctly

  39. У вас гораздо лучше получается переходить на личности и давать оценки, чем изучать матчасть вверенного вам симулятора. Это ничего... встречается время от времени. Хорошо, правильный ответ: Такой инструмент есть, называется СТРОКА СОСТОЯНИЯ, которая вызывается внизу экрана. А на ней есть скорость, которая переключается между IAS и TAS (так для экономии места было исторически сделано). А на самом деле, как давно уже мы честно признали, обозначения TAS не соответствуют общепринятому, но так повелось исторически и поэтому решили ничего не менять, потому что места есть только на три буквы. В действительности, это скорость объекта в мировой системе координат. Дальше просто - ставим ветер 30 м/с на 10 м встречный вдоль полосы и летим на самолетике с четко выставленным режимом двигателя с постоянной скоростью и постоянной высотой метров в 10-20 над полосой Держим режим сколько можем, не менее 10 с. Потом проигрывваем трек и смотрим разницу между IAS b TAS,которое с ветром уже и не TAS вовсе, а в случае горизонтального полета ground speed. Затем все то же повторяем, установив на 2000 м ветер в 50 м/с,нам не жалко. Наслаждаемся результатом. (Зачем я все это сам проделал, я же вижу в коде, что в расчет никаким образом не идет скорость ветра с 2000 м... Догонит ли в воздухе или шалишь Летучая кошка летучую мышь, Собака летучая кошку летучую. Зачем я себя этой глупостью мучаю... )

  42. YO-Yo sagt, dass das Flugmodell der KI gar nicht unrealistisch sei und dass das zukünftige GFM daher auch keine Unterschiede bei z.B. "Energy Retention" machen werde. Eure Meining dazu? Ich fand die KI (besonders Jets) kinetisch immer etwas "OP", allerdings muss ich auch eingestehen, dass ich nicht besonders gut im Kurvenkampf bin und ein Teil meiner Probleme mit den "UFOs" sicher auch daher rührt, dass ich selber kein tolles Energiemanagement beherrsche. Ich muss auch sagen, dass sich die Luftkämpfe seit dem BFM Update vor einigen Moanten (Jahren?) schon etwas besser anfühlen als früher... Vielleicht sollten wir also in Zukunft Probleme mit KI UFOs wieder ganz normal als Bug melden und nicht davon ausgehen, dass sie ein unausweichliches Resultat des alten SFM sind.

Советовать человеку, проводившему занятия по авиационной метеорологии смотреть книги, и вообще общаться в подобном тоне на официальном ресурсе с незнакомыми людьми это зашквар (недостойное поведение). То, что Вы написали: «Градиент ветра по высоте у земли в среднем именно такой» для грамотного авиатора абсолютно тождественно утверждению: «средняя температура по больнице 36.6». Что опять таки характеризует Вас как человека весьма поверхностно изучившего данную тему. Разве В ДКС все аэродромы в степи? рядом нет водоёмов? летаем мы сугубо в одно время суток? Поэтому я Вам написал, заметьте – весьма тактично и без указаний что Вам нужно почитать, поскольку кроме изменения силы ветра имеет место быть изменение его направления, и оно весьма прогнозируемо (хвала Кориолису). (Цитата) "В целом всё вполне достойно. Крайне желательно разблокировать установку ветра на высоте 500 метров. …Сейчас дкс сам всегда устанавливает тоже направление ветра что на старте, и для чего то в два раза увеличивает силу ветра. Это не есть гут и это не есть реализм. Работает только с точки зрения "даже поломанные часы два раза в день показывают правильное время". Можно было написать просто - "К сожалению на данный момент нет возможости изменить алгоритмы погоды в ДКС." - и адекватному человеку всё станет понятно, мне, как разработчику, более чем знакомо насколько это может быть геморройно и не стоить затраченных усилий.

  45. @tobi @Eight Ball F***** love yalls work man!!!!!!! I think we have flown the Cayuse almost every week since it came out. This past Friday was hands down our best flight yet! The video is a little long winded, but worth seeing your hard work at play. Had some bad ass coop time with the guys. Watching the CH-47 come in to pick up a downed pilot from the Cayuse is beyond awesome! Time stamps in the video so you can see. We are posting all our stuff on our ITJ thread now. Link is in the video. If you want to see your stuff in action every week, I usually post one or two video a week. Any more Vietnam assets or aircraft on the horizon? Again, cannot thank you gents enough!
