  1. Hi guys, as you know we’re still working on our upcoming Alphajet mod, and we don’t necessarily have the time to work on the Bronco. One of the recurring issues with it was the jittering wheels. A guy named Moran found a way to fix the problem while waiting for a future patch. I’m sharing here a screenshot of what needs to be done. Thanks to him ! Enjoy it

  4. Hello everyone, Red Star Simulations is excited to share our progress on a range of liveries for the MiG-17F. Below is a list of possible liveries currently planned (subject to change), and we’d love to hear your input. Which paint schemes would you most like to see included? Are there particular historical operators, squadrons, or iconic designs that you feel are essential? We’ve also included a preview of several work-in-progress liveries that are already in development. 5. It probably won't be two weeks , but that's my bet for this year. If I had to bet on a month, it would be October, a month after the MiG-29A's release. Of course this is just my opinion.

Translation: The war could not wait, and the 156th regiment at the Mary-2 airfield was transferred from air defence to frontline aviation, promptly retraining pilots from Su-15 interceptors to Su-17M3. Measures to strengthen the strike capabilities of the aviation of the southern districts also affected other regiments and were part of the reforms undertaken in the Air Force. From December 1, 1983, both regiments were united into the 34th Air Division of Fighter-Bombers of the Air Force of the TurkVO, the 217th Airborne Division was also merged here, and a year later the formation of a powerful unit was completed by the 735th Bomber Regiment from Karshi on Su-24. 7. Su-22m4 for DCS World! Mod developement thread. discord: https://discord.com/invite/6yqcEngfE8 First of all, this is separate project from Sniper's and Octopuss Su-22. I'm making Su-22m4 with custom cockpit and external model, based on FC3 (Su-25A) avionics with PFM. Mod will be released soon as a AI 3d model replacement for Su-17m4 and then, in the meantime I'll work further on developing the flyable mod (mainly working on cockpit) External model is 90% done, with most of the animations, and some liveries. Liveries include Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Russian, Syrian, DDR and some other. Cockpit needs to be animated as well with making all the scripts and logic in lua. Yes, it will have variable sweep wings! It will carry a lot of unguided weaponry such as bombs and rockets, as well as guided munitions such as Kh-29 missiles family, ARM and more. Maybe I will be able to add TV seeker view into the cockpit CRT without switching to Su-25T avionics, but I dont promise anything yet. No ETA, stay tuned, the AI replacement will be public soon.

  8. Unfortunately you can't "preset" the cirrus clouds. ED would need to add the framework for that (I wish they would!). The game engine only calls 2 of the 4 cirrus texture files per mission run, so you can see up to 10 different cirrus cloud types in one mission. They change every 10 minutes. Each cirrus texture file has 5 cirrus textures baked into it for a total of 20. The game may appear stuck on the same 10 cirrus clouds until you change the date/time or restart the game. I can't see what logic it's using to select which cirrus texture files it uses so there's no way for me change that. Each time you start or restart a mission, a new texture out of the 10 available will be rendered at start. This prevents seeing the same cirrus clouds repeatedly. I'd really like them to add a simple framework to select a cirrus cloud preset similar to the current cloud presets. That way I could continue to create more cirrus clouds and it would be more efficient than what I'm doing now. I could create an external app to swap files around but that just seems clunky.

  10. Thanks! For the moment nothing has changed, they’ll just be making guest appearances in screenshots and videos. Think of it as free helicopter wallpapers Oh and regarding your comment on YT about the pilots, no work has been done it's just that the previous video was using old footage. I'm wrapping up the CopterLife assets pack, though. It's not going to be as polished as I'd like but it's been sitting on my HDD for too long. It contains ground vehicles, ships, driveable ships, sinking ships and static objects. More pics in the imgur album: https://imgur.com/a/hrjpEid

  11. A simple mod to add wing mounted guns (6 x .50 Cal) to the TF-51D. Includes a variety of ammunition options based on the P-51D by ED. Installation into your main DCS directory (note, this mod breaks Integrity Check), typically: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World Bind the additional Weapons Trigger command and enjoy. Download link: DCS TF-51D Guns Mod Intention is to help those who may be considering a warbirds module make a more complete assessment before committing and to have some additional fun with the free TF-51 module, no plans to add additional weapons or gunsights, etc. at this time.

  12. Little background: Long time IL-2'er who got DCS Warbirds a couple years ago to see what it was all about. First plane, probably stupidly, was the K4. Not a quitter, so I stuck it out. But alas, the constant OP engine torque and the crappy old version of the Normandy map wore me out. I put DCS away until June when the F4U came out. Oh goody, now I get to play Ba Ba Black Sheep like I always wanted to as a kid. Well the F4U left a little on the table too, so I'm thinking, back to IL-2 until they fix this baby up. I did like Normandy 2.0 though. But then I see, almost by mistake, hey - I own the D9 too? when did I get that? I must have been drinking again. I see Greg flying Fw's on YouTube and he makes it look so easy - I mean, probabaly not for me, I suck - ok then, lets give it a try. Holy Sh*t!!! Where to begin. In the last two hours I have all the keybinds. Took off and landed on the first flight no issues, I can actually shoot stuff down. It has an MW50 system that is easy to understand, deploy, and it appears to actually work (vs. the K4). Even better, the annoying left wing stall we all love about the Fw, ever so present in the IL-2 version, is wayyyyy more manageable here. I was doing rolls and turns in the DCS D9 that I would never even think of in the IL-2 version. What, I can actually dogfight PvP in a D-9? More to come on that. I have to be honest, between the K4 and the F4U I was starting to think DCS Warbirds was either a total <profanity>show, or I am still a horrible sim pilot. But the D9 and it's smoothy smooth, super fun flight model have shown me the light. Maybe it's just that the K4 and the F4U make the D9 look like a thoroughbred, or is this the best Axis plane in DCS? Or any other flight sim for that matter. Oh yeah, and that engine sound. wow.

  14. The dev team has stated their goal is October, but with any release sometimes it depends on ED so they might not have a 100% accurate date just yet. Hope we get to see more content soon especially in September and October as we get closer

  15. I stopped the work on the mods for now. The highskid was ok for photo flying and landing on ground, but not on ships etc. It obviously needs a new collision model for the UH-1, which I did just very basically, no damage model or other functions associated with it. In the end its not usable as plug and play mod, although it looks quite cool I think. Perhaps inspiration for someone else? But - thanks much for the interest.

  16. Thank you. You are absolutely right that in this campaign the player carries a lot of responsibility. The campaign is completely different from a typical scripted one and is specifically designed for players who, in addition to flying, are also interested in planning missions and assessing the bigger picture in order to define and achieve strategic objectives. Fortunately, there are dozens of scripted campaigns available if mission planning doesn’t sound appealing. The ED team has now reviewed the campaign and some fixes have been made according to their requests. It looks like things are moving toward release.

  18. As far as I know, the main goal of the upgrade is to improve navigation accuracy. One or more sides were equipped with 1 MFD. There were shots of the X-29T suspension (in the factory shop). All Western weapons are integrated without any significant modifications to the aircraft. Even the satellite navigation antennas are located in the pylons.

  19. I would prefer first completely functional basic 9.12a. As for Mig-29MU1/MU2, I am kind of skeptical, since cockpit looks exactly the same and it appears they have used "hacked" avionics to place those missiles in place of R-27P. Over the years UKR did offer lot's of upgrade marketing material for soviet stuff (ewr radars, missile seekers, SAM upgrades), but we saw very little substance of those upgrades in reality. Given the level of corruption in ex-Soviet republics (including Russia), doubts arise over actual scope of work. All things I found so far mostly pointed out to improving reliability of avionics (e.g. radar) + adding limited multi-role capabilities, similar to Russian upgrade packages offered around 1996 minus the R-77. Around that time they may have been even collaborating together on this. Maybe the existing software got some improvements over the soviet one, but if this is MU2, then we are not talking about large functional differences, hence it may be a low hanging fruit once the 9.12a is completed. Also, ED might decide to offer this as paid upgrade to a basic module.

  22. After summer break, I upgraded to 1.41.2, reinstalled QV Companion (just as a precaution) and got everything to run smooth again at 72Hz without having to change anything. Tried PP Quadviews (while deactivating QVC), but I had big problems only achieving 35 FPS and a lot of stutter. But one thing bothers me - pressing volume + button on the Super does not open the Pimax Menu anymore, just keeps increasing volume. @Calvin.PimaxDo I have to activate it in the settings or is this mandatory feature gone?

  24. Just a heads-up for folk that DCS has native support for this now so no need for NVPI to achieve this, unless you're wanting to apply to all your games. DCS also allows you to not use DLSS on MFD's and the HUD, which is where some of the larger complaints were around the ghosting on those when moving cursors etc. Just add the below to your Saved Games\DCS\Config\autoexec.cfg file (create it if it doesn't exist). DLSS_Preset = 'K' HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true

  28. Dear Eagle Dynamics Team, we propose adding a new set of Static Objects to simulate provisional runways for improvised airfields and highway operations. Why: Current FARPs are too small or only for helicopters. Using LHD decks or other statics as “runways” creates seams and is not intended. Mission designers want to create realistic FOBs, highway strips, and field airbases, as used in Sweden, Finland, or Cold War Germany. Proposal: Modular runway slabs in lengths (250–1500 m). Neutral asphalt/concrete look, seamless when placed in sequence. Automatic vegetation clearing, like FARPs. Optional variants: with/without markings, plus edge lights. Benefits: Greater flexibility for Cold War and modern scenarios. Realistic STOL and dispersal operations (A-10, Viggen, Harrier, future Gripen). Expands mission-building potential for current and future maps. Kind regards Skydogs

  30. When there is some actual big news, we usually share it on all our channels (Discord, this forum, Facebook, Instagram, ...). Those are just general newsletters called "dev-shoutouts" and is mostly intended for people who want to follow HB a bit closer and stay in touch with the devs - which is what Discord is generally used for. Until then everything you may read essentially boils down to "we are working on it, its there when its there".

  31. No, I won't switch to Su-25T avionics because people will use it as it has TGP, which Su-22 didn't have. The TV screen was used only for Kh-29T seeker feed and Wyuga elint system. Su-25A avionics have identical gunsight and weapon system as in Su-22. This will do for now. If the CWS guy will not be as busy with Su-30 and 35 for Codename Flanker, he might cook a CWS for Su-22 - already talked with him about it and he agreed - that will allow it to have working TV while still having Su-25A avionics. Moreover, mod is made in such a way that switching avionics to su-25t will render it useless and most things won't work properly. You might like it or not but that is my decision - I am not letting people do things with my mod that shouldn't be done.

  32. Hope you enjoy another Su-22 mod showcase, despite replay for external views being buggy and me missing some missile shots. 35. Repaint of the F-86 Cockpit This model, which was very well made in its time, is already quite old, and I believe it deserves a modernization. I have carried out the repaint based on the black cockpit scheme, as I had complete photographic references of this version and, in this way, it also allows the option of flying both variants. All labels and legends have been recreated according to the available real-world information, while keeping in mind the limitations of integrating them into an already existing model. Repaint of the F-86 Sabre Jet Cockpit What has been achieved: -Application of a black base coat on the cockpit model. -Addition of metal wear effects, scratches, and layers of dust and dirt to enhance realism. -Implementation of roughmet layers, allowing for highlights and reflections that vary depending on the material of each surface. Limitations encountered: -The original model does not include bump maps in its files, which makes it impossible to simulate surface roughness and fine reliefs through the shader. Despite this, every effort has been made to achieve a convincing result. -The instrument lights could not be altered, as they are not texture-dependent but rather determined by the way the models were originally exported. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/es/files/3346544/

  38. I have tried the D9 a few times but have not bought it. I just couldn't get to grips with it. The K4 is my favorite warbird. I'm not sure why but I got the hang of it really quickly. I love flying it. I struggle with the A8 and the p47. I'm enjoying the F4U but not there yet. I might give the D9 another go.

  39. Well, the k4 and f4u are total different birds compared to the D9, which is rather similar to the anton. The k4 is nimble and turns well, but is rather shakey. and the corsair behaves similar to a p47, being a pregnant cow. I fly the D9 almost exclusively and have little problems against other planes tbh. With the right tactics of course. https://www.youtube.com/@oinkpoink My collection of D9 flights on Project overlord so far. Commented videos.

  46. I don´t know if anyone would have great fun in playing a combat flight sim that represents the 2025 battlefield. BVR from hundrets of miles away in an F35, F16s degradet to hunt shahed drones, and combined arms with randomly exploding collums due to dji drones. My desire would be a vietnam theatre where we can use our Phantoms, Migs and Hueys like its meant to be. And new modules from that time like the Hun, or F105. Aircrafts that actually need to be flown by the pilot. That said I would also appreciate more from the late 90s/early 2000. Since we are about to loose the Strike Eagle I am realy looking forward to the FF Eagle and the Typhoon. And I would agree that some newer SAMs would be nice.
