I agree. AI got really dumb in today's patch. Ka-50 wingman can't even attack wide open target as shown in the video below. Track also attached. Mission is default Instant Action Shooting Range. No mods. Wingman used to have issue attacking in campaign missions but never had issue attacking these targets in this mission before. And in that second video, I thought asking him to rejoin and attack again may help. Due to track inaccuracy, it shows him going right under me but during the play, he did crash into me. Ka-50_AI1.trk

Holy crap. Looks cool tho. I ended up doing this. Simpler. It's the forehead that was getting irritated probably because I have sensitive skin. This way, only side of my face touch the foam. Plus, I can spread the foams apart too. That's the old Vive 1 foam pad I cut up.

Then, does it run better with 64GB? Is RAM the only bottleneck?

Better Smoke V22 for DCS 2.9
Taz1004 replied to Taz1004's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
UPDATED TO V15 for DCS 2.7 11/18/2021 Merged with minor updates on Smoke and Water Explosion from latest DCS update. Smoke: ED added fire glow on ground. Merged. Water Explosion: Not exactly sure what they changed but quick glance at the code, looks like it deals with how water explosion looks in FLIR. I never looked at water explosion through FLIR so I can't tell if anything was changed. Merged.- 840 replies

It may depend on the headset and you may not notice it with higher res headsets. But for Vive Pro, F18 MFD was unreadable with anything less than FSR 0.8 regardless of sharpness setting. But all other cockpit button labels looked fine. So it looked like upsampling wasn't being applied to MFD with FSR. So simple fact that I can use lower render scale with NIS yields higher performance benefit.

It all depends on the headset so what works for me might not work for you. Any kind of sharpen filter if you use too high of setting, it introduces artifacting so using little bit of all 3 seems to give best result. And since this post, I switched to Fholger's 2.0 which sharpens MFD also. I use ReShade CAS Sharpen plus SMAA. I atttach it here with my setting. VR sharpen SMAA.zip I don't use in-game MSAA but you may want to if shimmers bother you. For me, blurriness bothers me more than shimmers. I find CAS Sharpen to give the best sharpen overall. Then small amount of 3DMigoto's cockpit plus exterior sharpen. I use 1.2 but might turn it down to 1.1 or turn it off because of new Fholger's. Fholger's 2.0, I use NIS instead of FSR. 0.67 Render scale and Sharpness 0.3. NIS in Fholger's lowers resolution and upsamples so altho minimal, there will be quality loss. So you need to compensate by increasing your VR resolution. Then you improve both quality and performance. I increased from 2600 vertical resolution to 2800 for my Vive Pro. But I only have GTX 1080. So NIS will render at 1876 vertical resolution (2800x0.67) then upscale to 2800. So it's still rendering much lower than what I originally had at 2600 which gives significant performance boost. You may want to increase VR resolution higher if quality is more important than performance. I also use Simplex shaders. For simplicity. For A10C-II cockpit with no reflection, I use my own below.

Thing I don't get about crypto... just trying to understand. Is that most of the popular ones have finite amount they can mine. Otherwise the value will tank. I get that part. But as it gets harder and harder to mine, someone else makes new crypto. And repeat infinitely. What prevents from having thousands of crypto? NVM... just looked up and there are already 5 thousand cryptos LOL.

I don't think it's the air. I think it's more to do with the foam pressed against my face for too long. I'm thinking of cutting parts of the foam so less area touches my face.

I said I used to. I'm trying to help troubleshoot for the OP. Not for myself.

Thanks. With NIS I can be much more aggressive without sacrificing MFD readability. With FSR, I couldn't do less than 0.8. With NIS, even 0.67 looks good.

Yes that's what I meant happened to me with twist rudder. I roll to compensate for rotation instead of rudder, trim, and it becomes unresponsive to further roll input.

Good FPS but high CPU frametime - what to check?
Taz1004 replied to fargo007's topic in Virtual Reality
Check CPU temp. -
I don't think there's any do's and don'ts. I use auto hover when hiding behind trees. I toggle heading hold on and off as heading only trim. And a lot of techniques depends on equipment. Someone with rudder pedal will find different way to fly than with twist rudder etc. Original question was trim "accumulating" error. This sometimes happens if you use roll to compensate when you should be using rudder to compensate. Happened to me when I was using twist rudder and because it's hard to maintain twist. Which is why I suggested looking at controls indicator. If you're using twist rudder, try using sliders or rotators as rudder instead.

Did you buy it from Steam?

I have been using USB hand fan. It helps but doesn't eliminate it.

I meant you misread EasyEB. He said it IS possible in real A10. You said he pointed out it isn't a real feature. Wasn't talking about BCK button. I said the "blank" button. Below I think is the thread I saw. There was a older thread too which I can't find.

Only thing I don't like about VR is the sweat. I find myself having to take it off and wipe my face every 20 minutes or so. Before the foam pad gets wet. I do have VR Cover but it just gets sticky and slippery rather than getting wet. How do everyone else deal with it?
-
I think you misread him. And if I remember correctly, it IS a feature in real plane. That blank button on CDU does delete markpoints.
-
And any of this has no bearing on what I think and I think it's pretty hillarious. And I do believe what "we" think has bearing in everything.

RCtrl + Enter. If it is accumulating error as you say, it'll show it. Yes
-
What does your controls indicator tell you?

This is a game. Putting Nazi in a game doesn't mean the game company supports Nazi. If China is really meddling in game content, well... that's actually pretty funny.

When full screen, mouse can't access 1/3 of the screen

I don't have solution for you. Only workaround. Press Alt Enter again, move mouse to far left, then Alt Enter again. -
Couple of things to make Helo's a little more enjoyable
Taz1004 replied to Boosterdog's topic in DCS Modding
Great tips. I didn't know about Syria bushes. If you don't want to delete the Shrub.ref file after each update, open \Mods\terrains\Caucasus\terrain.cfg.lua Then line 216, rename the Shrub.ref file there. You can make this into a Mod you can reinstall with mod manager after each update.- 1 reply
