  1. Mine is and always has been set to Ultimate since I installed the 5800x3D null
  2. Thanks I actually implemented the registry setting mentioned in the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFz8HRk4WfI No change.
  3. Nope I get the same behavior/resolution in pancake mode too. I can still see grey in the display and HEAR DCS theme music playing. EDIT: This time around, I started with the F-15E. First load required the "dance". Next 3 missions (same map) click/load as expected. Then I quit the F-15E training mission and selected a F-16 Caucuses take off, loaded immediately.
  4. Something new to add: Last night, I had run several F-16 and A-10II C flights' training and/or fast action. First mission selected was Caucuses free flight. Clicked to start, then the subsequent loading screen starts... with no progress on the meter, I can still hear theme music. If I try to wait it out, then it NEVER finishes loading (as I have reported multiple times). One way I have found to fight passed this loading screen hang is to wait about 20 seconds, or at the point when I usually hear my CPU/GPU fans spins down to idle and either left click ONE time on the screen, or remove my G2 and tap my finger over the sensor located between the lenses. Doing so will 99% of the time cause my fans to kick up rpms again and viola! sim finishes loading. Now... If I simply quit that particular mission and start it again, it loads as expected. If I quit that mission and choose another from the list, like Cold and Dark, I do the dance all over again. Fast forward to the F-15E I tried the same process again... first training mission selected, do the wait 20 seconds dance, tap sensor, mission loads. Finished that training mission, quit, selected next on the list and fully expected the same behavior with every other aircraft... only this time, with the F-15E every subsequent mission loads AS EXPECTED. Don't know what this means on the guts and backend of DCS/Edge but, there it is. I can replicate this behavior time after time like clockwork. Again, if I do not attempt to intervene by tapping the G2 sensor a couple times or a single mouse click on the DCS load screen, it will eventually CTD with Windows reporting "this application is no longer responding... etc To add: If you've done a fresh install or cleared metashaders and fx0 folders, then you are in for longer wait.
  5. It's not like this stall/freeze issue just started with 2.9 beta. This has been floundering since whichever 2.8 release packaged the F-15E. The original problem persisted even in 2.8 stable.
  6. Good technical breakdown of the new features.
  7. This doesn't fix it either. For me, it's an immediate CTD.
  8. For the experimenters : https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
  9. Now that I have fought my way into MT mode... I think so. I haven't done any actual comparison but, I wanted to started some "testing" with base minimum goings on. Right now I have OXR Toolkit disabled, OXRWMR resolution set at 150%, WMR 60Hz (I still prefer 60Hz to having to run any form of repro) null F-16 Take off, Caucuses. Low banking turns. Visually absolutely stunning. It's almost TOO hi res in the cockpit. Frame rate never leaves 60. I will note that now, even the standard clouds are more than good enough. No more emersion breaking, jaggedy lines where the clouds meet horizon of hilltops. My in game settings: I honestly couldn't tell a difference between DLSS Perf/Quality slider at Balanced or Quality null
  10. So, are these cool new features intentionally only available in MT mode? They're not selectable in ST. And I can still barely, if ever get MT to load.
  11. Nope... Fresh OB install, 2D mode 25+ minutes later: selected F-16 free flight/Caucuses null
  12. Fresh install of OB: First launch, 2D version. 20 minutes in... null
  13. I gave that a look... while mine was mostly utilizing 4/8, disabling either of them is an immediate CTD.
  14. Any other day I would concur but, this all started the day I installed the early access of the F-15 patch. 2.8 I think.
  15. I had considered that. But after the fresh reinstall of stable, I also wiped away my Saved Games folder. Same behavior.
  16. Yes, ST mode was in fact loading in steam VR in spite of the force VR/openxr arguments and not having steam running at all. Sometimes I would see the oxr/wmr exploding triangles animation in the hmd, then the just dark screen...but nothing further in hmd. I could hear DCS music, Then I'd look at my monitor to see the typical VR view of the load hangar. I do have the same load issue with 2D MT, but if I wait about 20 seconds after the mission load screen to appear, after the fans go to idle, I can click one time with the mouse and the fans spin up, load bar starts moving, then finishes or CTD. Still occasionally hang on the loading world detail section. Which usually flies by too fast to read it. For me, this all began with the early access release of the F 15E.
  17. Follow up: After a rip and replace of the OpenXR toolkit, I can now launch ST mode as expected. Why this is, makes little sense to me if DCS "now supports OpenXR Natively." And any previous attempt at running ST mode was done so without Steam running at all, let alone SVR. MT still exhibits previously reported behavior, but like months ago, if I wait a certain amount of time then peak from under my HMD... I hear the fans spin up, then the sim takes off loading again. clueless.
  18. Yep, haven't had that checked since the days of OpenComposite. Multithread does launch OpenXR but 9/10 times that's as far as it goes. I get to the selection menu, choose a mission or replay and just the aircraft loading screen with "progress" bar and music... yet the progress bar never moves. After about a minute of this, I can actually hear my PC/GPU fans spin down to idle. Meaning there's nothing happening requiring any attention from either fan control. After several more minutes of waiting, I simply click anywhere with the mouse and Windows displays "This application is not responding... click here to end process." Same as it's done since back in May/June(I think) after the patch that included the F-15E. It's been downhill ever since. Note also, this is after a complete uninstall/Reinstall of DCS. Tried new installs of OB and currently Stable.
  19. After a 5 month hiatus, I see it's still broken... Cannot run ST OpenXR mode anymore, every @#&^ing time it launches SteamVr. MT VR is still ass. Spent the better part of an entire day simply waiting... and waiting and waiting for anything, other than the Caucuses loading screen theme song. Can't imagine why I even bothered giving it another shot.
  20. ST back to normal. MT, not so much. Several minutes in, zero activity on the progress bar. Few minutes later: CTD. No mods loaded, repair install, patched. dcs.log
  21. As far a resources go... I noticed this the first time I reported this behavior when it first appeared (for me) in MT. I would sit there waiting, and could eventually hear my CPU and GPU spin down to silent. It was several times like this that I noticed when I took off my G2 to see what was up, the fans would spin back to life, and the sim would continue loading. At that point I would simply sit with my G2 in my lap watching my monitor... wait for the progress to halt, fans go silent and them I would simply touch the sensor between the lenses of the G2. Which would immediately cause my CPU/GPU to fans to spin up again, and the sim would continue loading. I think the most bothersome aspect of this "bug" is I saw little to no fix for it on the MT side and had switched back to ST. Only change since, apparently they've migrated it to the ST side. and still can't upload my log file.
