IIRC F-4s and PFs fought over vietnam. Side note, the PF main differences from the Bis is the "hump back" past the canopy and the radar (RP-21) compared to the RP-23. Also performance wise. Etc and etc. But +1 for vietnam, I want to recreate the skoshi tigers with an F-5E campaign there

Also, many of the boring parts of modern combat aren't as visible in this era of cold war. This is why i'm an avid fan of mid cold war as the tech and the features in the era make it fun to play. I personally liked the F-5 and f-14 because the systems aren't as complex as modern aircraft and make it much more dangerous than a jdam drop from 15k up. TLDR both are aircraft that I would buy and are key players in the mid cold war I want to see in DCS

Yea, USSR vs Blue for was at its peak around 70s or 80s . Think about it, Mig-23MLD, Mig-25PD , Mig-27 , Mig-31 and Mig-29As were in the sky in the 80s trying to shoot down F-16A(aim-9s only) ,F-18As(SARHS and winders) Same for the F-15C, only the Mig-31 and F-14 had ARHs . Its only after the the fall of the USSR when it became unbalanced for NATO vs Redfor. Also many of the systems of the time were more based on the skill of the pilot vs the skill of who can use a computer better. TLDR (again) It's better for balance and historically accurate

F-111F and Tornado are both aircraft i'd like to see. The F-111F has one of biggest record during ODS which was the most amount of tank kills (using the PAVE TAC Pod). and the Tornado had the biggest mission of the early days of ODS (destroying Runways and taxiways with its specialized ordinance ) . Both are mid to late cold war aircraft and both are beautiful. I also like to see the F.3 Variant as well

While I agree that BST should've been its own team, the F86F and F-5E are kinda mix of different varients, (F-5E3 has CM and RWR only found on certain export varients of Swiss F-5Es) . But they also made some of the most recognizable aircraft from the cold war (Mi-8,UH-1,F-5E and F-86 ). I also agree that if BST continued with the F-4E we would have an iconic and very capable Cold war in DCS. But as of right now, M3/ Leatherneck are the only ones i trust to do the Fitter , Fittingly (bad pun).

Imo DCS should try to expand its cold war market. Due to more accurate info that can be access for this and due to more challenging gameplay. I don't get the same kick in dropping a JDAM from 15,000 ft in a F-18 as compared to low level unguided bombing with the F-5. TLDR, ED Should keep up the Warbird / cold war jets and make mid cold jets a focus.

For instance, I hope that we get a F-5E-1 (4 Missiles, some had Mavericks), F-105 Thunderchief , F-100 Super Sabre for the Blue side. And for the Red Side, F-5 could be available as a VPAF (least preferred) Mig-23 (early and Late) Su-15, Su-17, Su-24 ,etc and etc.

and a J-7II has one more canon than the F-13

This and Black Sea Resolve are two of my most anticipated campaigns

which is why I'm a big support of Cold war aircraft for DCS

could possibly be another Mig variant (f, PF or PFM) . Tho I hope its a Su7,or 17 .

It seems "fitting" to have a Fitter in DCS . More Red For aircraft is a plus and I would buy it first day it becomes early access . +1

Could someone tell me why the F-5N wouldn't get guns?

Also Idon't know if we could get an F-4D for a possible Vietnam conflict in DCS
