While I don't think that DCS should worry about Maintenance as a full fidelity type experience like the Viper, i believe there should be some portions like CMO. Although, I'd buy a cold war aircraft maintenance sim.
-
Also, on the subject of the two Delta helos ( Apache Longbow, and Kiowa Warrior). I'll be buying both, because each have their designated roles and their history. If you buy a module b/c its "meta" in the multiplayer , then you may be missing the point of a module, which is to simulate a bird , and to make you feel like you are flying the bird. I have faith in ED for the Apache , same from Polychop. cheers, Fangs Out

If I could throw my hat into the ring, Id go for a 1975-79 era to focus on. Think about it, its the era of new but unproven models such as the F-15A and later in 78, the C model, F-14A , F-16A in 76, and A-10 in 73. But it also has older but still capable jets such as the F-5E-1, F-4E-53 ,F-4J , and for RedFor pilots, the MiG-21Bis (72), Mig-23M ,Mig-25PD, Su-24 (74), Su-17M3 , and the limited deployment of the Tu-22M. For Ground forces, you can expect better models of M60s in the AOS and RISE variants, the M-163A2 , the MIM-48A1 , and M151A1 Sheridan. Redfor gets early model T-72s, T-64As, BMP-1 , ZSU-23-4M , Osa AK, and any others I missed. Finally, most of the major conflicts that defined legacies of aircraft happened during this era. The Yom-Kippur war, Ogden War, Iranian-border skirmish with the Soviets. End of the Vietnam war, the 79 war between the Khmer Rouge and Vietnam , etc and etc. Thats my two cents -FangsOut

Yea , HB has more experience with the Tomcat and the F-4J/S were replaced in the FAD role by the F-14. Although i'd love an Echo phantom, its more logical for HB to get a F-4J or S phantom
-
So, let me clarify some things. 1. PGMs were also found on later marks of the F-4D , such as GBU-10s , Gbu-12s and BOLT-117s. Second ,the F-4D essentially replaced the F-105D, while being supported with the F-105G in the SEAD/DEAD role (F-4Ds could only equip the Agm-45 Shrike, 105Gs could be equipped with the 78 Standard ARM , better in every way). Third the F-4S was much more than defensive upgrades, incorporating smokeless engines from the N phantoms while adding leading edge slats similar to an Agile Eagle Echo model. Finally, if we want to pick varients , Id say a F-4E-53 and a F-4J or S phantom . Former is more capable in A2G missions with Mavs , GBUs , early TGPs and an internal M61 , while the later is more capable in A2A with a PD radar and better missiles such as the Aim-9G/H (SEAM equipped missiles) and Aim-7Fs , or if its a later block, Aim-7Ms and Aim-9Ls

And follows the F-14 with a version of Jester since the F-4J or F-4S have a GIB like the Tomcat. Also, id pay top dollar for a F-4J and F-4E

I realistically think we can recreate them with DCS Assets currently, as PG was used for the Gulf of Sidra in the two missions for the tomcat. As for LB 1 and 2, you can get close with the Marianas map. Though, its not really the same
-
And if we had the F-111 , we can recreate 3 major operations it was involved in with the maps we have currently, (LB I and II, EDC and ODS). +1
-
+1 , only problem is that Republic , the manufacturer has destroyed most of the supporting documents needed to make it a Full fidelity module
-
Sorry, I foolishly said that it was better than the F-5 in the two circle. Thought that originally b/c the F-5 could trade energy for angles and 1 circle fights are won by angles / better instantaneous turn rate
-
Yea, most campaigns release dates are determined by the release schedule of ED. A good example is Battle for Krasnodar and Zone 5. Both were ready for a while, it just needed to wait for ED's schedule. While I can't say about what I have played in it for you. I can say that Y'all are in for a treat. Pardon the slang as I've been tasked with VA in my sort of dialect. - Fangs Out (VA actor and Closed Beta tester of CN and OPF)

Wishlist for the next helicopter after AH64D
Fangs Out replied to dr.barber's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Voted for The AH-1 Cobra as i've been eagerly awaiting this module since i join. As for the Variant , i'd probably say a SuperCobra (AH-1W) or an Army cobra like the Ah-1F -
Attempt to fight him in the Two circle, the F-5 is superior to the 1 circle fight where he can trade energy for angles. Also, remember you have a emergency Afterburner , use it if you need to . Reminder to not use the Afterburner for too long as it may cause your engine to flame out. That's all I got

Constant Peg - Another brilliant campaign!
Fangs Out replied to Reflected's topic in MiG-21bis Constant Peg Campaign
Yea, I've played the F-16C Red Flag 21 and found the exact same experience listed here. Can't wait to buy it and recreate my favorite mission from the 16C Red Flag 21 (mission 5 btw) -
On the topic of OV-10 it is important to specify the variant. IMO, the most prolific and used variant , the OV-10A should be modelled .+1
-
Well, it combines some of the interesting features of the Ka-50 with the weapons of the Hind, I.E a semi rigid 30mm with some traverse but mostly S-8s , gunpods, and Sturms
-
And EOM is something as a Viper driver i'm excited for SEAD work.
-
kinda hyped for the campaigns tho.
-
you could go with a Ka-29TB as it uses rockets ,Sturms ,a 30mm 2A42 autocannon and a Gsh-7.92 mini gun. null
-
Yea both of these campaigns are excellent . I hope they make the campaign as they have the most experience with russian Helos. Also +1 for a pirate or mercenary campaign

Who orders a module based on effectiveness? I order modules based on the significance of it (F-5E, Mig-21Bis, F-86, P51D , etc and etc)
-
Would you be willing to buy multiple F-4 modules?

I can only think of one third party dev that can bring the sea bourne phantoms to life (heatblur)
