  1. 1. Yes 2. Yes 3. It's crap (allegedly. there are a lot of reports about crashes and instabilities) . Unfortunately with a 5000series you can't opt for the latest stable driver. 4. Depends on the scenery, but you should be able to get 90-120 fps easily. Without any DLSS use. With DLSS you can basically expect 120 fps (more doesn't make much sense in a flight-sim)

    Pilot Body?

Ok, thank you. Then I mixed something up in my mind. Not the most important feature for me, I'm just flying the F1 a lot lately and the untidy belt and buckle on the seat is triggering my OCD.....
  3. Hi, is there supposed to be a Pilot Body available in the F1? (in 2D) In all variants, or only in some? Because there is a keybinding for it and I could swear, I've seen footage of a cockpit WITH pilot body - but I can't enable any on my end. Probably a me-problem, but I wanted to ask before I get mental for searching for an option that doesn't exist.....
  4. Und wenn Du einfach nur eine in DCS belegst?
  5. That is because you‘re making assumptions or trying to conclude based on incomplete information of the “I heard that…” kind. Source “trust me, bro” This isn’t a public affair. Even if some want it to be. Trying to make sense of it is futile. This thread serves two purposes only: - fighting boredom and - venting frustration You will only get valuable information from it when official sources proclaim official results. In which case, you won’t be able to miss it, because it will be all over the place.
  6. Awesome, man! Very cool.
  7. Not to sidetrack from any other possible culprit, but since you're using a 13th gen Intel - have you thought about silicone degradation? Do you have other heavy loads that you use regularily that still run stable? Maybe make some stress test (recommend OCCT for such things). Also the Phantom e.g. is pretty tasking, maybe some GPU overclock, that used to run stable and doesn't anymore? Just to rule out the Harware side of things.
  8. Here we go again. That is like the 20th new Topic about the same issue. Defender flagged and quaratined a false positive find. Make an exemption for all DCS-related folders and deactivate real-time protection during the download/installation of the patch. (If things are already messed up, make a slow repair).
  9. And that makes windows a necessity? There is literally nothing that can't be done in Linux just the same. In fact, apart from some appliances that simply aren't released for Linux, a modern Linux distribution is a perfect replacement for windows, down to the User-Interface. (Minus the data-sniffing and ad distribution)
  10. Some people are beyond reasoning though. Arguing with them is futile.
  11. Which would indicate though that there is something else going on in the background. Did you do the usual maintenance, like clearing the shader-caches e.g.? Have you checked in task manager which process is hogging resources?
  12. Deactivate the real time protection of defender for the time being. You can re-activater it after the update is done. (Though I usually deactivate it everytime I use DCS, to decrease any potential performance or loading time issues) Defender IS Antivirus, just the most integrated into windows and one of the least offensive ones. Still causes the same issues from time to time.
  13. Yes, just recently, after an update of defender, it suddenly flagged a harmless fan controlling software that was peacefully resting (unused) on my system, not doing anything bad at all. Gave me a small heart attack for no reason. Counter question - how often did your AV sound an alarm and it was actually a proper thread? For me that count is zero for the last 10-15 years and maybe one for the last 20. The real protection is habits not AVs. Mind the sources, don't open fishy emails (or at least don't click on any links), etc..... I bet you a fortune that most of the poor folks that were hit by a ransomware attack had Defender (or some other even worse 3rd party AV) running.
  14. @SharpeXB You act like the typical “afraid of change” crowd. Don’t worry, nobody is trying to take something away from you. But having options is actually a good thing. Why do you think that Steam/Valve is heavily pushing Linux, made it the OS for their proprietary hardware and is enabling an ever growing part of their backlog for Linux? Because Windows is a dead end in the long term. Eventually Microsoft will <profanity> it up so much that it becomes unbearable. And/or will drown it in ads and/or make it a subscription based software (like Office). Not to speak about privacy and safety. Steam is much, MUCH bigger and more important than DCS, if you haven’t noticed. (No offence, ED! I love DCS)
  15. That sums it up perfectly. I don’t get why people have so little hesitation for blaming ED or Heatblur and are even willing to wipe their entire system but so much trust in Antivirus solutions which, for the most part, are essentially snake oil.
  16. It's a Defender problem. And more generally speaking an AV problem per se. False positives.
  17. Whoever is going to use this, needs VERY long arms (or short legs)......
  18. Allocation is not the same as actual usage. If you really want to know which cores are breaking sweat and which are whistling la paloma, you need to refer to a proper monitoring software.
  19. There are choices. Some are reasonable in size like the Moza or the Rhino. But none is suited for sitting on the desktop.
  20. 2025 is the most narrow date i've seen so far. But given the flood of promo material and the looks of it, I would assume it is pretty far riped.
  21. I don't know about you guys. But so far the Germany Map looks pretty darn good to me. Can't wait to fly the Bo-105 on this map.
  23. I hope so. Because we're inevitablely heading toward a subscription based payment model for windows. Like we already have with Office. Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so. But if not, it'll be the last time I used windows.
