Ist dein System zufällig wassergekühlt? (Custom)

I think Casmo is just invested in the Kiowa for several reasons and therefore felt the need to forward the news (even if unchecked at that point). I don't know the guy personally obviously, but from his public appearences he didn't strike me as a somebody who is interested in drama.
-
You're confusing a certain Reddit entity with Casmo who just forwarded the original post . The latter wasn't meant as the "stirrer". Being a customer doesn't entitle you to know any inside affairs, sorry. Imaging every buyer of a Toyota/Ford/Mercedes to have detailed information about the inner affairs of the company and its suppliers/subcontractors.... in Real-Time.....

Computer games are content. Mobile Phones and Operating Systems are tools. Apart from that, tell me an OS that isn’t/ wasn’t in perpetual “early access” until replaced or abandoned.

This is a golden post. Easily one of the best in the last few days. I learned at least two new (to me) ideas from it: Betteridge's Law (genius!), "Yes-Bot" (couldn't put my feelings better in words). Thank you! So it seems. Either intentional or unintentional.

Flaps are meant to decrease the landing speeds. The more flaps the more lift per speed so to say. The sudden increase in lift is what makes the nose rise and requires retrimming. When flaps are deployed the chord line of the wing profile is pivoted up to a higher alpha. (the trailing edge is lowered)
-
Dropping the gear should counteract the nose up tendency of the flaps to a certain agree. Maybe check the procedures again and make sure you make the steps in the right order at the right speeds. However, the need to trim down with flaps deployed is mandatory.
-
You need to trim down when flaps are deployed.

Pretty sure it is part of the core game and no separate download.

Doing this stuff manually is a chore I wouldn‘t assign to my worst enemy…. How do you keep up with the DCS updates? Anyway, I only ever used the weather mod in particular with OVGME and it worked right from the get go. Maybe do a repair and try again. Other than that….

Some of the pics (last little bird e.g.), you really can’t tell from reality! Awesome artwork guys!

Hey, there is no „open beta“ anymore. Only one unified version of DCS. However, depending on which version you where running beforehand, the folders can still be named „open beta“, since the update kept whatever folder names you where using. In regards to the mod. There is a folder structure in the zip file (ready for mod managers, highly recommended). Make sure that you keep it when unzipping and copy and “overwrite” in the core game folder. But you should really consider a mod manager for this!

Load your favorit mission in the ME, apply the first preset and start flying. When you've seen enough go back to the ME and select the next. Rinse and repeat. You don't even need to create a new mission from scratch. Just take any of the IA missions e.g.

Now I'm really baffled. New W11 app, Game Bar?
Hiob replied to Panzerlang's topic in Virtual Reality
DCS Multithreading is currently task specific. Meaning, you have one main render thread that provides the raw data for the GPU, then - and this is the "new" part - you have all tasks that can meaningfully be separated, like AI computing, sound, maybe weather, systems (radar and stuff), excluded from the main render thread and on their own dedicated threads. That relieves the main render thread a lot, but still leaves it as the bottleneck for fps. Especially in VR. Afaik DCS can take profit from 6 cores at once at best, maybe 8, but not more than that. And the caveat above applies still. -
Well for the map exploration, we flew in a clean config, so that could be part of the "nice" feel. It really has been a minute......

Some flat items could be modeled in proper 3D, like the handholds, but otherwise fully agree. And some friendlier looking co-pilots perhaps....

Question: Did the F-5 receive FM-updates or not? I didn't use the old Tiger II much since it was very dated indeed and there are simply so many other options to invest my time in. However, due to the update I spent a more relevant amount of time in it to explore the Iraq-map and I quite enjoyed how she felt in the air. I didn't remember the FM to be so "lively". The visual update isn't benchmark by any stretch but definitely a big improvement over the old! I'm sure I will use it more often now.

Doesn‘t look bad at all. I would consider swapping the mouse and the Stick. Embrace the sidestick!

I can only recommend to stay clear of Paypal. I know it is convenient - when it works and everything goes well. But if something goes wrong, you will very soon notice that they have no considerations for rules and regulations regarding your rights as a customer (or seller for that matter), will use your money/goods as "hostage" until an issue is cleared to their satisfaction. Be especially careful when using paypal in conjunction with ebay! I'm in a "fool me once" situation with paypal and quit it since. And you know what. You don't need it. At least if something goes wrong with your credit card, you can work it out with your bank, which - at least - is governed by laws and regulations and will usually honor them. /rant off sorry if a little ot, but mark my words

Intel 285K for VR usage - or stick to AMD X3D CPUs?
Hiob replied to lBlackMambal's topic in Chit-Chat
DCS is a prime gaming specimen (specifically DX11). Why do you think it isn’t? If anything it will profit even more than more modern games. As an example on how effective the 3D cache is. A 5800X3D provides 20-25% better CPU frametimes than a (faster by clock speed) 5900X. -
OVGME No Longer Working After Latest DCS Update? (with the fog) Any fix?
Hiob replied to CommandT's topic in DCS Modding
Same here. OVGME still works as expected for me. Never had an issue. And tbh, I can’t imagine how it should fail, since it basically just copy/paste and keeps track. Maybe some folders got renamed by the update? On another note, I notice myself using less and less mods with every update, because DCS introduces features I happened mods for all the time. Of course there are still plenty cool mods.
