  1. Also hier nicht. Mal den Cache leeren und nochmal probieren?
  2. I agree with you. I think the reason (no excuse) for this is, that ground clutter isn‘t placed by hand, but sprinkled across the map by procedural methods. Same as with other maps. I would love to see this improved (generally on all maps).
  4. I stopped using reshade, but iirc there is one file that is replaced, no? Anyway I used OVGME to disable and enable Reshade before and after every patch, like I do with any other modification to DSC.
  5. I can’t download and try until tomorrow, but your report makes me really happy in the meantime!
  6. Everything related to Voltage (loadline affects how fast and strong the voltage reacts to load requirements, improving stability but hitting the system harder) is a compromise of stability vs. longevity. Basically, a higher voltage will increase the stability but also heat, which will age the components faster. So you want to have it as high as needed and as low as possible. This guy has some serious expertise and if you are lucky even a bit about your specific RAM: https://www.youtube.com/@ActuallyHardcoreOverclocking
  7. Exactly this. And in this I am confident in EDs work ethics.
  8. Let me rephrase my second sentence: It is too often forgotten in the heat of passion.
  9. This should be written in BOLD RED letters on the frontpage. To many people miss this critical distinction.
  10. to a degree I'd say. I can only speak for 2D gameplay here, but when not at the limit, the ingame frametime graph is flat as a lake and so is the frametime graph of Afterburner/Riva. When however there is a spike in the frametime graph - e.g. due to loading a new asset in or whatever or a heavy AI-script running, it corresponds pretty well with what you see on the screen. Really, hunting down the root cause of "un-fluid" graphics is Sisyphus work, that's why it is so difficult to nail it down AND transfer the results to other systems. In this special case, with what @MoleUK is reporting it may very well a completely different issue.
  12. I would argue that (micro-) stuttering, given that the average fps are still high enough, is most likely caused by system latency (aka windows or other 3rd party processes) and not by the game engine. That is why maintaining a sleak system is so importance for edge cases like VR. On a well maintained System you have at least ~100 processes running, when Windows is whistling La Paloma on idle. These processes are still active when the game runs. Most of them won't do much, but even if only some of them constantly nag for attention and CPU cycles, it can cause latency that manifest in stutters.
  13. Maybe have a look in stability related CPU settings as well, things like loadline calibration and such.....
  14. With the F1 it is really important to use the chute and only touch the brakes when already slowed down a lot. At least that helped me to finally get reasonable straight landings. Generally though, as others already said, the ground handling physics in DCS for the most part is a big weak point. Some Aircraft like the F-14 do reasonably well, but most of the times most other aircraft (including Choppers with Skids) have weird friction/stiction values that simply don't feel right. And the directional stability of undercarriages on landing is.... well, "challenging" to put it mildly.
  15. Well if it reliably works when XMP is off, it has to do something with the Memory, no? Either there are some very messed up (sub-) timings or the xmp profile is changing other things too. (Which I’m unaware of, but maybe I’m not up to date). How many sticks do you have? Can you test them one by one. Maybe one is faulty?
  16. Ah, now I get it. You were thinking about pre-ordering. There has been some occasions/modules that offered real pre-ordering, but I feel that fell a bit out fashion lately. Maybe I'm wrong though. This time it will most likely ba in the shop, when the EA-release happens.
  17. I think we perceived the past 17 pages of this thread differently......
  18. Why would you think that this will work any different than with every other Map/Module in DCS ever? In the DCS online shop and (a bit later prob.) on Steam.
  19. agree to disagree. Caucasus has some of the more interesting geographic features. There good reasons to like the map apart from being free. It's only problem is that it is showing its age by now. Especially in comparison to modern maps from Ugra (and others). The settlements are way too small e.g.......
  20. I'm interested in this too! I may add a question: Best fuel economy speed / RPM / flight level for range or endurance? How would you handle TO with a sleak Jet. I struggle with the small window between positive rate and flap/gear overspeed. Would you use AB with a light aircraft?
  21. Points to RAM instability. Try to increase the Voltage for the XMP profile slightly (in .05V increments) and see if that improves stability. A better way would be to adjust the timings but that is easier said then done when you aren't familiar with the process.
  22. A lot if you happen to use a wireless HMD like the Meta 3
  23. Stop trying to twist my words please. Realism isn't inherently bad. I never said this. I AM NOT oppsing your wish for eastern technologiy featured in maps.
  24. @Northstar98 I think you missed my point. I'm not opposing eastern Nav aids. I'm all for it, I just don't have any knowledge about them so I don't comment on them. I was just opposing the idea, that Tacan is a problem because it is not time/era appropriate.
  25. actually I only experienced this behaviour with Audio-Amplifiers that would trip a fuse on turn-on. Of course they have much(!) bigger capacitors. But its the only idea that I can come up with that fits the symptoms.
