  1. Either way. Depends on you how you set it. But I leave it disabled always on all of my machines. Work and home.
  2. The problem - generally - with the power service is, that it does frequent interrupts to poll different processes for their state to determine the resource needs (don’t nail me on the phrasing, but you get the picture). Changing the powerplan to ultimate does change what happens with the information but doesn’t change the polling (in fact in increases the interrupts). I hope that makes sense. Difficult matter to explain in non native language. There are good videos on youtube on the matter. Search for topics related to latency or latencyMon. This Video, even though it is only indirectly linked to the topic, covers some interesting topics. It’s a very interesting piece for people that are concerned with stutters/latency and performance in general:
  3. That's not what I meant. In Windows you need to open services find the power service, right click, open properties and make start type "disabled", then disable the current running and restart windows. That will disable ALL powersaving functions of windows (not sure about the core parking tbh.), but most importantlly it will reduce latency a lot. This may improve your issues if it is related to the root cause but I can't guarantee it, because we don't know yet what the cause is, but it is a usual suspect and disabling this windows service is good practise for smooth(!) performance. I can however guarantee you that the only adverse effect of doing this would be increased power consumption if you are on a Notebook. If you are on a desktop system, plugged to a wall outled there is really no downside. Ultimately you can re-activate the service in the same way. (are you on an english windows version?) p.s. running ANY kind of power plan in windows, especially the ultimate one, will NOT alleviate stuttering problems in the same way as disabling the service altogether does.
  4. Maybe it's a matter of wording, but did you disabled settings or actually canceled the power service? I'm just asking because thats a big difference.
  5. Simply open the services app in window, find the power service and disable it. That will get rid of any adverse effects in regards to energy management. If it doesn't help and if you feel the need to have all those (unnecessary) power shannanigans running, simply enable the service in the same way again. There is no harm in trying.
  6. Any kind of fixed refresh rate is usually enforced by CPU. Which will then be shown as CPU bound/limited. That doesn’t (*necessarily) mean it doesn't have excess performance.
  7. This chopper has so many charming quirks to it…. Even if it wouldn’t serve any purpose in DCS, I would fly the hell out of it….. (but it may fit in an early Vietnam context)
  8. Very unlikely that only that vertical axis would display issues. In fact the most obvious problems for people that suffer from micro stuttering is when horizontally panning. Do you have the green indicator lights on on the camera? Are they showing a disconnect when you pitch your line of sight vertically? It is very easy to loose the line of sight for the camera when it isn’t properly aligned with your markers. Loosing track momentarily would lead to choppy movement.
  9. Main difference I notice is that the initial load time to get in the cockpit is much longer with a higher preload radius. Unless you notice any streaming/loading hickups while flying, I would try with a small preload radius.
  10. wise man!
  11. I herewith may cast another vote on the matter:
  12. Always was..... (imho). Syria tops all other current maps by far.
  13. I might add, that OPs description of symptoms doesn't necessarily suggest general performance issues. So the GFX settings probably aren't the issue. Things like Core-Parking or Windows settings are more likely to cause such intermittent frame drops. I would put the pagefile settings on the list of suspects (if too small).
  14. One other thing you can try. Do you know how to enter ASCII-codes? E.g. Alt-0216 gives you the average symbol. You can try Alt-255 for space (if that makes a difference) or google for a different invisible ASCII character.
  15. I see. No other ideas, sorry.
  16. and a " " (without the quotes?)
  17. Can you leave it blank in the unit settings or does it go back to default then? What happens if you just put a space in there?
  18. That's a strong choice of words. It is not feature complete, that's true. (Though one could argue that no module ever is, when the benchmark is the real aircraft) Apart from that - it is no more "junk" than any other Early-Access module.
  19. I opted for a dedicated Wifi 6e router/access point JUST for the Headset. Maybe a bit overkill, but being wireless was the main benefit of the Quest 3 for me. (Former Index user) As far as I can tell, it is equal to the link cable solution for all intents and purposes. Or at least I can't tell the differences apart. I followed some youtube guides regarding settings (bitrate etc.) and it worked.
  20. Public relations -> Catch 22
  22. Ach Du meine Güte….. Lost in translation.

    Pilot Body?

That‘s perfectly fine for me! The original question was my individual confusion and is answered. The other idea was just an on-the-fly made up idea. You guys do great! Keep it up. Love the F1!
