  1. Hated my X52 pro, won't be going saitek any time soon, although my TM Warthog has ruined me for normal joysticks.
  2. The F-16 does have rudder pedals. I'm all for standardised controls, I change them as I see fit but starting off with something that makes more sense is a no brainer. It's okay for us, but DCS can be overwhelming to newcomers without making things more difficult than they have to be. I'd even suggest setting a slight x/y axis curve as default, I remember thinking the A-10c was unflyable when I first played it and I was no stranger to flight sims.
  3. Then you're in luck... Welcome to the forum. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127100
  4. Thanks Matt, really appreciate these. And the You tube format has increased the quality while decreasing the frustration of crashes etc so that's fine by me. New 1tb SSD should be here shortly specifically for DCS, so I'll go ahead and pre-order the L-39 when it arrives.
  5. The Gigabyte card has a much better cooler and an extremely sexy illuminated logo for starters. I've almost bought the GTX 980 G1 gaming several times now. Been holding out for EDGE as my 680sc is still hanging in there pretty well.
  6. Welcome to the forum! Seems you've had plenty of fun in your day job.
  7. I think bigger maps would have to be considered if and when DCS grows to this point. The C-17 would still be fun though imo, it can operate from very small airfields, even rough terrain and can nip in and out of hotzones, could make for some fun missions.
  8. Most things on that list, but the Mosquito jumps out as something I would really love to see at DCS level.
  9. Yes, definitely. I don't like this view that DCS should be all about fighters, I mean it's fine if people only want to buy those kind of aircraft, but please don't assume the whole community shares that view. For me, DCS is a war simulator, and a huge part of war is training and logistics. But more than that, I just like the ability to have aircraft modelled to this level, so while I enjoy the fighters as much as anybody. DCS for me is an incredible tool that allows me to simply learn and fly the aircraft, any aircraft I may be interested in and I look forward to anything that may come to this wonderful sim in future. I'm really happy to have the Hawk in DCS and I'm looking forward to the L-39. Large aircraft would be real nice to experience, not necessarily just transport aircraft, but large ones in general. A B1b and a C-130 or even a C-17 would be a nice start imo.
  10. That is a lot of bomb for a relatively small plane. What a beautiful thing the Mosquito is though, never tire of looking at it. I hope we'll see one at DCS level one day.
  11. I'm holding out for DCS2 before upgrading my GPU, simply to see what actually works best when it arrives. But if I were to be specific, I quite like the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming.
  12. All your sarcasm aside, I was simply repeating the spokesmans words. As with the F-35 vs F-16 sensationalised articles we saw recently, we have no idea what the real purpose of these tests were (assuming this 12-0 actually happened) It is very possible that the Typhoons were limited so much that they had very little chance of actually winning the engagements, but still achieved a different intended goal. I believe it is the Indian equivalent of tabloids printing this story anyway, lets wait for a better source with more details.
  13. Nothing technical, but at least these guys seem impressed.
  14. I thought so, would be handy and may even increase profits ED's side. Yeah, me too. I want to buy it already, but seeing as I've asked for it for my birthday next month, I'll just have to wait... They have loads of others mind, I may get the lightening and Bear shirts for now.
  15. I read that yesterday, those kind of articles really do make me chuckle. I believe a RAF spokesman has actually responded to these. He basically said we were being gentleman at that point to our newly arrived friends, once the real trials began we had pretty good success. Still, those SU-30's are rather lovely, I wish I'd gone down for a look now.
  16. Just get FC3 and turn the detail down a notch.
  17. I'd love to see some large aircraft also, the B1B would be spectacular. As you mention you don't want to blow stuff up, you may be interested to know that VEAO are planning to make an A330 MRTT which should give us an idea of what heavies will be like in DCS, they are also making a Lancaster which should be a little bit special.
  18. I quite liked this one, although admittedly I haven't really had much time in the cockpit, just a few flights. Not sure I've even shot anything down in it yet. Once I have my new SSD installed I'll put a bit more time into it. I've only had two flights in the Mig 15 so far also which I thought was equally nice. Can't say it stood out as being leagues ahead of the sabre quality wise, but again I am in no place to judge with such little flight time on the pair.
  19. My update has failed, error code C1900204... Nothing is ever easy for me. I suspect CCleaner messed up my registry some time back as I've been having a few niggling problems for months now such as programs not showing in the Control panel >> uninstall a program. A potential fix for this is changing the default install path to the drive windows is on, but having entered the registry, I don't have ProgramFilesDir to change this... Given it is midnight I'll sleep on this and try again tomorrow rather than sit here pulling my hair out.
  20. I'm doing the same, my Windows 10 is downloading as we speak so I'll be ordering a new 1TB Samsung SSD soon. I'm just going to uninstall and re-install everything tbh, I think it will be better in the long run.
  21. I was thinking the same thing.
  22. She had her full wing put on in the early 60's if I remember correctly due to a short runway she was operating from (higher stall speed on the full wing) She is probably the prettiest airworthy Spitfire imo. Her and Ferocious Frankie together make for quite a sight. Speaking of MH434, here's a good comparison of the two wing designs.
  23. What's the story behind the head rest covers in the North Korean jets?
  24. It is my birthday soon, and as usual the other half has asked me what I'd like. Aside from a rather lovely Mig 29 T shirt from flying graphics, I'm stumped for ideas.... It just occurred to me, it would be a great option to have vouchers available for ED's website, such as steam wallet vouchers. Whether they be $20 to take the sting off of a purchase, or $50 to cover most modules. Would anybody else make use of these? And ED, is it a viable option whether it be fully digital or paper vouchers with a postage fee applied for the more physical fans? For those wondering about the shirt...
