Any amphibious vehicle available?
Brit_Radar_Dude replied to tflash's topic in User Created Missions General
I've never been able to make vehicles do that. Any time they get to water, they stop. -
Where can I buy Lomac in UK?
Brit_Radar_Dude replied to Flashart's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Always a few original Lockon's for sale on UK E-Bay for a quid plus postage. Then you could get the Flaming Cliffs (FC) payware addon from somewhere like rcsimulations or from http://lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en&cat_sid=2 on a single disk. Or get the download version of FC, whatever floats ya boat. You could try and get the GOLD version, I found it here (they mistakenly seem to think it has something to do with FS2004, idiots) http://www.flightstore.co.uk/prod/CONLOCK/DEPT-FSIM/FSSOFT/ The only thing about GOLD is that if you end up with a US version of GOLD, there is a slim chance that it has a borked 2nd disk. The first production runs by the publishers of GOLD (Evolved Games) had a problem and they had to issue replacement disks. Some of these borked GOLD's still occasionally crop up. The bad news is that Public Relations company that Evolved hired to handle the issue of replacement disks have now RUN OUT. So if you are unlucky enough to get a bad copy of US GOLD, you are snookered. GOLD in Europe was released later and to the best of my knowledge, there were no problems with those. But who knows how you can tell the difference? -
Callsigns from Air Forces all over the world

But you only just arrived. Give Lockon a chance, you'll grow to love it! Good links by the way..... -
Still an active community?
Brit_Radar_Dude replied to Nieldo's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
i would say so. Folks are always coming up with new ideas, eg the 80's server idea, the AdA Mod from the French community (and they are working hard on AdA Mod v2), SimMod's new A-10 model, new terrain, etc, etc. -
Japanese Man 1: RUN! IT'S GODZILLA! Japanese Man 2: It looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright laws - it's not. Japanese Man 1: STILL! WE SHOULD RUN LIKE IT IS GODZILLA! Japanese Man 2: Though it isn't. [Winks at Camera]

noisemax = 0.8; noisemin = 0.6; IronHand, so what exactly does this change do?
-
LOPE is a very simple Utility. It allows you to hang any weapon on any jet whether or not they could be fitted in real life. Not surprisingly, many combinations will not work since the hard code inside Lockon is not present to make it work. That is the nature of Modding games......

As Alfa said: NATO simply pick at random a name that starts with an "H" (H for Helicopter) when a new Russian helicopter is seen. All NATO names for Bombers star with B (Backfire, Blinder, Bear), Fighters with F (Flanker, Foxbat, Fulcrum), etc. It makes it more easy for a soldier to remember a name when learning to identify aircraft, etc. But actual meaning of the English word, Hokum - Something apparently impressive or legitimate but actually untrue or insincere. Hokum - Quelque chose apparent impressionnante ou légitime mais réellement faux ou pas sincère.

Purchase Flaming Cliffs online without Credit Card?
Brit_Radar_Dude replied to Jenk's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
There is no paper manual with FC, look in the DOCS folder. You can buy the manual (printed version of the one in the DOCS folder) for 24.99, link below http://www.lockon.co.uk/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en&cat_sid=1 Not sure what you mean by "no serial key". The version of StarForce used for the CD version of FC simply checks that the CD is in the drive (if you patch to 1.12, then it only checks once a week). -

What do you want in a Naval Mod?
Brit_Radar_Dude replied to MadMaxter's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
More Turkish ships would be sensible as they are likely to be deployed in the Black Sea area. Would be nice to see Tepe Class (ex US Navy Knox class) Frigates, B Class (ex French D'Estienne d'Orves class) Corvettes, Yavuz class frigates (German MEKO 200TN). ...and you can add in as many Royal Navy ships as you like of course! -
Question About Scenery in DCS
Brit_Radar_Dude replied to WilkzPolski's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Looking forward to the new terrain in BS, but good to hear that you hope to add back in the Crimea in the future if possible. I'd miss flying over all the nice historical monuments that you went to the effort of modelling. -
I was lucky! I only really missed you all for a day as I was at the V festival ( http://www.vfestival.com/lineup ) enjoying big names like the Kaiser Chiefs, The Zutons, Kings Of Leon, Scouting for Girls, The Pigeon Detectives, etc, etc, and discovering unknown gems such as Noah and the Whale, The New York Fund, Young Knives, Futureheads.....

I saw on TV where they made a mistake hundreds of years ago translating that part of the Bible and 666 is not the number of the beast, it is actually 616. So X-man is already safe by 50 points :)

Su-25A Go on, try it!

Sound decision Highway, the situation over there is very sad and depressing. -

Yes, your AI wingmen are dumb. Yes, the bandit AI have instant locks on you and can see you through clouds etc. Things that help. Use radio to order your wingmen to switch on their radars. Don't assume they always have it switched on (ditto with their ECM). I generally lock up a bandit and then instruct an individual wingman to attack that bandit and repeat while I have the time to do it. With your AI wingmen you have to try to take the time to be a battle manager before getting into the fight yourself. If you want sensible behaviour, go online. :)

If there is a chance for them to get to an airbase, they will always go to it. A long time ago I was curious if I could make a helo land in a field and I did succeed. The only way was to put them out over the ocean with minimum fuel and near a piece of coastline with an airbase further inland for them to aim at. Once I had adjusted the range correctly (it took many attempts) then they would emergency land in a field. As far as I remember the range was 50-60 miles depending on the helo model. I think I tried it with them starting over the Sea of Azov and aiming at Kerch-Bagerovo and made them land one or two fields inland from the sea-shore. Give it a go and experiment yourself.

As of the time of my post, access via the main page seems to still be down, however the direct access to the forums seems to be back up (for now), http://www.lockonfiles.com/modules.php?name=Forums Thomas posted something on SimHQ forums to say that the host were still having problems, but were working on it.

Still borked for me too.....

You could ask your local post office how long the post from the UK to Argentina usually takes. I imagine if you live in a town outside B.A. then it will take a longer time ? When I ordered a River Plate football shirt 3 years ago from an on-line shop in Argentina it took about 2 weeks to get to the UK. I thought that was pretty good.
