  1. Considering how huge of an abomination FSX is with default settings and detailed scenery mods, if they need to use 6 cores I'm all for it. Anything to make terrain loading fluid without pop-ins. I'm still happily using my old 1366 i7 930. I can wait a bit till we see how EDGE pans out.
  2. Looks like a much longer video at:
  3. Sure, I can use Nthusim HMD with DCS World, but it's a bit awkward to use with the Rift resolution.
  4. I like -- I like a lot. Looks good :)
  5. Well, with EDGE comes scenery tools. Make an Antarctica theater if you like... *chuckle*
  6. Would be nice if so, if not there are ways around it.
  7. Because I'm in Steam daily and Steam has an easy to use in-game overlay where I can chat with my friend's list.
  8. Apparently the Steam version isn't patched to latest build and DCS_Updater.exe is broken in it. I just fixed it by dropping my existing non-steam version with add-ons already activated over it. Now all add-ons are registered except my Blackshark which was a BS1 -> BS2 upgrade. Still not sure how to fix that even though all my other add-ons are registered again now. Steam version was 1.2.5.15865 while the non-steam version was 1.2.5.16184. That fixed registration of all my add-ons except Blackshark.
  9. The patcher for DCS: World is internal to DCS: World. You're using a strawman argument.
  10. I'd rather give people the benefit of the doubt than not try. No worries, just adds more dev work on our end though. :smilewink:
  11. Early access build for Nthusim HMD goes out next week if anyone is interested to assist with testing and feature design feedback. http://forums.nthusim.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=69
  12. PM sent. I'm in for one seat kit and a stick kit next week. I have a real parachute container. Will that fit on this?
  13. Anyone have any decent YouTube videos of this? I'm not in any real hurry to dump $99 into P3D unless it preforms wonders. I'm very hesitant to invest into anything MSFS till P3D 2.0 is in the wild with it's supposed updated scenery options.
  14. With their talk of Steam Workshop and mod tools this should turn out fun. The price is definitely right @ $12.99 USD.
  15. You can pre-order your Steam key via the Bohemia Interactive store. Steam got the release date wrong. One of the devs says keys will go out Aug 1, 1pm GMT. http://steamcommunity.com/app/244030/discussions/0/864974880600836957/#c864974880611015815
  16. I didn't see a thread for Take on Mars, so I thought I'd post it. It releases in the next day on Steam. If you like KSP, you'll probably like this too. http://mars.takeonthegame.com/
  17. Out of curiosity, anyone know of a random automotive seal boot that might cosmetically look like the real stick boot to hide the springs?
  18. The problem with FSX is it gives people nerd rage configuring. One would think after so many versions of MSFS that eventually it would get optimized. Out of the box it's ugly and a pig. LM has a lot of work on it's hands making P3D 2.0 undoing over a decade of spaghetti code. I use P3D not because I like it but because it's a standard for many.
  19. To further clarify, carbon fiber is corrosive to aluminum. You don't use regular rivets with composites. You actually physically isolate metal from composite on airframes.
  20. Had mine for about a year now, just never thought to post to this thread until now. 10098 USA
  21. If Eagle Dynamics doesn't work on native Rift support I'll prioritize Nthusim HMD support as a middleware option. We (Immersaview and Nthusim staff) have our dev kits as of last week so we're working on the utility in the next month. Rift+Hydra would be awesome for DCS World.
  22. It looks labor intensive regardless of brass or aluminium. It looks to be machined.
  23. Pretty novel adaptation of the Oculus Rift design concepts for use with an android phone. The accelerometer isn't going to be as responsive as the Rift, but it's still rather cool.
  24. No, why would they give you $600 in hardware for the price of $300? Someone needs to be paying for the hardware in order for it to exist.
