Hi I made a flight on the Persian Gulf Map, with the Stennis. Flew out of Sharjah, and landed on the carrier. Released the hook and moved forward but nosewheel steering did not work. Is it to do with the turning of the landing gear handle, I notice it turned.....don't remember seeing that happen before so will have to play with it a bit...pity really I was so chuffed, and then Jester realised I was screwed and told us to eject,yep...not the final landing I wanted lol....so much to learn

Hi Bart, No never made it back to Scotland, was ground Comms and Tac Comms (TCW) Flew a bit with Helo world and Nimrod Fleet and then as Comms Sgt at Honington, Lindholme/Finningley, Linton/Dishforth/Topcliffe managed a couple of flights in Tucano. and the fast jet ground Sims at various places. But usually had an undeground bunker office. Got me around the world so can't complain

Lets face it, we ALL miss Chuck's guide's on this. But we have to put no pressure on a guy who has helped us SO MUCH so far. So, Yes' I'm struggling as I cannot get the Tutorial to work, I've had to learn to program my system to fit and had my issues with the RIO. But, it's still a fine product - wart's and all as we say in UK, and it will mature...like me...hopefully better than me and it's early days. C'mon whoever envisaged that we'd be able to simulate a Tomcat to this degree, sure beats the Aifix kit, with no disrespect to Airfix. We have what we have and we'll have to get on with it.

Using Persian map, I have bases with lots of static objects Loaded 1 x F-14 Flyng round the Stennis so I can form up, Me on the ground at Sharjah engines running at a dispersal. From selecting FLIGHT, 6.08, to the FLY tag, then total load time 10.44....and my Trackir stalled AAAAAAAAAAAAAArgh! Hey but it's early days, WHO CARES, Stewardess has brought me a dark beer...Y'all gotta get a Stewardess on board!

[NO BUG] Issue with Cold Dark Pilot Training
flyingscotsman replied to dwbarnett's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi, Training mission cold dark. In the rear cockpit on start up with Jester, I'm asked to click 'Data ADF to BOTH' Using Track IR but view is obscured by seatbelt, so lean left, up down round, When I can get the target square over the button, cannot get + to change to arrow and select, to continue. Stuck. Still enjoying it, will start with engines running and see if any one else reports Cheers -
You VR guys are killing me, but the Stewardess say's it's her or the VR, she's been a great Stewardess....gonna have to figure something out. But like you guys very happy with money well spent

I second the above, LOTS to learn. Jester is a game changer but mine resigned after the first landing, at least he didn't eject!. NONE OF THIS IS CRITISISM OF THE MODULE, LOVE IT. Getting used to the HUD without speeds, and the funny speed dial, (just not British dammit) Had a Persian map flight out of Sharjah to the north at high alt and high speed. Enjoyed watching the wings auto sweep back. Then roll over and low level into the mountains for some contour flying 'A La RAF Tornado' style,(I am ex RAF). Jester made some adverse comments about getting close to the hard stuff. Then back to Sharjah at very low level, in poor light conditions where I came in too fast and ambled into the desert a bit and then back on the concrete, Jester giving it "'Shit Shit Shit your too fast!" just as I coming to a halt. (Then I think he left to change his flight suit). No I idea what he was moaning about, the wings were still on, it was on 3 legs...so that's a landing innit!, ok it's a bit dusty. So I see why single seat pilots say they prefer, pound for pound, the extra fuel they can carry with no backseater lol. But teamwork is a learning curve and this whole module is a learning curve. The aircraft is a pleasure to view alongside. Got lots to read, again and again, but this one well worth it. It loads kinda slow, but I see there's a thread about it so the grown ups will get it all get fixed. Looking forward to the painters getting let loose and using it as a bombcat. THANK YOU GUYS

So off to a quiet map sit at a dispersal and go through the cockpit while having a coffee. Nice job guys

you need to get the updater to update, if it's not updating, then Google DCS Updater and follow the article, it then brings the info down to the module manager, then module manager goes over to Heatblur....and you sit.....watching it download....like me

How To Install (Sorry if it's stupid Question)
flyingscotsman replied to Euan3251's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Your's is working normally, the updater is meant to find it automatically, if for some reason it does not AND you know there's an update, then you would revert to the updater.exe or whatever you need to kick it into life. If it's working for you now....don't fix it -
If you google 'Use DCS Updater to force update' there's an excellent guide. hope that helps

flyingscotsman replied to Euan3251's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Euan3251, It's not a daft question, there has been total confusion previously in other downloads, In the main, you will usually get a positive answer from the majority of members....cos we all had to learn too. -

Yep would be interested in the pc-21 hobby version and the mod version. IMHO no developer will jump into a pc-21 with the Razbam Tucano, in real life they all competed for contracts around the world. Both fill the basic training need. I flew in a Tucano in the RAF great fun and excellent view from the back seat. I will be paying for the Razbam version whenever it comes out.
