  1. A request, some time back I put towers at all the VOR/Tacan sites on my NTTR. Now I've lost the lot as the update wiped out all my missions, they are there just not showing up in the new version However, can you guys put a VOR object together. Otherwise I might use a truck, it's about the same size, Reason is simple, they are out there, there is even a web site for those that want to visit all of them, who has not wondered where Pole Hill VOR is.....looking at the pics....its not worth the visit. Would this be possible....in slow time...eventually? Thank you
  2. That used to be taught on the nav course at RAF Finningley, Map, chinagraph, stopwatch, listen to the brief, walk out to the aircraft, that'st he nav kit set up. No waiting for INS to set up 10 mins etc. Story goes many years back, that some poor guy came on exchange from F-111 world, asked how long it took to set up the nav, when told about 2 mins was amazed and looked forward to the flight. The IP ran him through the planning, and took him out to the a/c. Wound up the engine and was asked so now we set up the nav kit? It's in your lap, hope you were listening, let's go. Poor guy was less than impressed, but took it well. Good ole MOD never wasted money on equipment, but probably moaned about the stopwatch costs as opposed to their first choice, the sundial. As I understand it all aircrew are taught to operate from basic, so that if all the fantastic powered stuff goes off line, they can carry on regardless.
  3. :lol:All very nice, but even MOD forked out for a 2 seater and put a grown up in the back with the newbies....can I have a grown up and a 2 seater please. Don't know why but I think the 2 seaters generally look better. The wallet is really going to suffer this year y'know
  4. Excellent job, so we can drive about, without the HGV licience, airfield licience, RAF cops asking daft questions etc, brill
  5. Glad it's not just me being a rubbish shot. I got the trucks to burn, set up an airfield with 109/190's, darn siure I hit them with the spit, nothing, not even smoke, they looked pristine. Edit mission, A-10c, yep they blew up then! So the static aircraft are armour plated. Big Newy mentioned elsewhere that damage models need some work. But it's still good fun
  6. I've put 20-30 Lct/ships off sword beach (My dads, with a few mates) but template sounds good. I put ships in MODS folder, but they don't show up, will, just keep adding things as they come along. Wonder if someone will come up with a fully detailed fleet, non static....that would make your CPU fry, but look great, not forgetting the Air armada of C-47s and gliders....that should get us down to About 10FPS!
  7. Well Done and THANK YOU that's a great addition, thank you for your hard work
  8. :drink:Hi Guys Try WIN RAR 7z I got it for free via google, and put the Bin file off the Huey in there and there she is. Having a blast so A BIG THANK YOU for that. It's Friday night, had a beer already and getting into the rythm....not:lol:
  9. :pilotfly::pilotfly:Tuesday's fine....my day off Wednesday
  10. Thank you, I get a nice AI type that I can watch, but not working for me, with a cockpit that I can sit in, also there is no collective in the Axis commands. Maybe I've missed something, did read the wordpad notes. It is however a work of art. Will pop back tommorrow if there is an update or kind person points me in the right direction Thanks in advance
  11. That looks greate, thanks for your efforts
  12. I'm with WAVN, FB is not for me, but an increasing number of developers post there first. I will still be wallet ready when the MBB 105 comes out, and No I've not conquered the Gazelle yet.
  13. Well at least it's on their to do list, that's an improvement on anyone else. Lets face it only us Brits are likely to buy it. There was one on the airshow circuit in the States many years ago, and it generated little interest, as on one had heard of it, the fact that it was faster uphill than anything they had was totally lost on them. Hopefully as it's less technical than the modern aircraft it may not take too long to get working once they get to it.
  14. Thank you for that, looks fun
  15. Is there a link for this mission?
  16. That is so cool, THANK YOU, I recall the RAF Regiment had these for a brief period, then I assume MOD saw the fuel bill, and Rocks enjoying themselves, and withdrew them.
  17. Well I got my other downloads sorted, then did the latest DCS update, and I have an F-5 that flies, only proved it can manouvre, but its working and didn't just lock before loading, so thanks to all concerned with this thread, shout out for Maulkin, Saltat_cum_morten and Big Newy for helping out.
  18. brilliant thanks for that..still downloading other software...get there in a couple of days. Thanks again
  19. HI Maulkin, Thanks for that, no I will get to the patch, Sadly all my other flight sims and scenery were lost/damaged when the last HDD died. Have had a LOT of stuff to download again and don't have fast broadband, but will get round to it. Even copying from my old 'back up copies' was not very successful on FSX, so been trying to sort that out, but getting there.
  20. Just updated to latest version on new/replacement PC, cannot load the F-5, press flight and it hangs after a few minutes on the load screen...rats
  21. Very pleased to see the map on my backers list, to be honest I'd forgotten about this part, thanks to all
  22. And after a thoughtful fly about, I agree we the all Of then people, cos we can- apologies for the finger trouble that duplicated posts
  23. My Dad said the sky was covered in allied aircraft, He was in no 6 Commando, sword Beach, he recalled the rocket firing Typhoons, doing their cab rank system and later how a formation was flying straight and level, when one flew straight into a tall chimney stack, he put it down to everyone being very tired. So it will be ground attack Mustang, as a representative a/c. We enjoy our hobby thanks to the sacrifice of all those that took part in that momentous event, One other comment, He said it was organised to a standstill, maps, money, phrasebooks...and 90% of the first day went as briefed....did 30 years in three forces, ...it never went that well for us lol

  25. Thanks Matebubbe - understood, yes I've now got further into the manual, Och who reads the manual, I did it again this morning and yes being ham fisted gets you a hole in the ground, in short order. I think that is BRILLIANT, IMHO this is a aircraft that demands respect and study. Quality sim, I'm going to have to RTFM
