  1. watched your vid You need to wait for your CDU to fully align, look for T=4.0.0.8 to show in your CDU display before you enter NAV mode and try to enable EGI... You are turning on nav mode at T=1.6.6.4 which means you have to wait another three or so minutes before you toggle NAV mode Edit:Sniped in the face
  2. This^^^^ and a proper satellite view and the ME would be 5x better imho... well atleast 5x more user friendly :pilotfly:
  3. If you know how to use the mission editor you might be able to get better nighttime visibility. What you need to do is adjust the date for the mission so there will be a full moon... things will be considerably brighter You do this via the same menu for altering the time (the briefing menu IIRC) the format will be something like this: Hours/min/sec/days Just set the day to 15 and presto, brighter night! Edit: the mission you're flying might already have a full moon, in which case you're screwed :D
  4. You must select the cannon with the "C" key. It's not like the hog where it will always fire if it's armed. Maybe?
  5. No, he's saying you payed for a preorder of a sim that will be released in the near future. You happen to get the privilege of trying the software in beta as a bonus. I'm sure your issues will be addressed as the beta progress... That's kinda the point of a beta version. Edit: what GG said.
  6. in for some 1 vs 1 vs 1? :D ...afterwards we can complain about Bloomberg lol
  7. Excellent flying! You've clearly learned how to handle this bird. I'm nothing short of inspired :)
  8. Very cool man! I've wanted to see tank tracers for a while My apologies in advance, (you opened the flood gates :D) Is it possible to replace the yellow tracer with a red one? For both p51 and the armor? I could have sworn I read that tracers in the game change color based on their speed, this seems true enough based on my experence with the mustang. They seem to start yellow and end up red after they richochet. It's a cool effect, but despite the apparent realism I'm hoping to set up tracers that burn bright red from the muzzle to burn out. Is this by chance a matter of a simple file edit?
  9. Mandrake, have you ever seen a Commie drink a glass of water? :gun_smilie:
  10. Thanks for the tips:pilotfly:
  11. I feel your pain! My L ENG OPER switch has stared to flick to MOTOR without my consent. My strategy for the first few days was to ignore the problem ...This didn't work I ended up using a trick I learned in the guitar repair bussiness. It's brilliant, you just sit there and flick the switch back and forth really fast :D It worked, go figure...although I'm worried that it's not a permanent solution. Well back to pretending that I won't have to exchange my TM warthog for the second time
  12. In case you missed that Edit...what blueridge said :)
  13. I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue :lookaround:
  14. Another option: Select TAD as SOI Slew cursor over SPI Hook SPI (TMS UP) Now on your TAD page, OSB 17ish, you'll see a number with a question mark next to it. If you press that OSB a mission waypoint will be created with whatever number was next to that "?" ...options are good :)
  15. The .exe (I don't think you need the p51 exe to install world) and the three .bin files on this pagehttp://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=18&end_pos=135&lang=en should do the trick Follow the installation instructions on EDs site, e.g. all files in one folder, make sure the file names are correct (Sometimes the files get a (1) added to the end, that'll screw up the install) that kind of stuff I'm off to drink some of your namesake...best of luck
  16. Although I don't think it hurt that they had a lot of access to the inner workings of the jet, maybe that is the secret to a great AFM :D Maybe we'll never know! ...just kidding of course
  17. Afaik the desk top trainer that ED marketed to the air national guard didn't feature an AFM. It seems to be more of a switchology trainer, getting pilots used to the new MFCDS and HOTAS commands. The AFM, if I'm remembering correctly, came when they made the commercial product. I think the latter part of your statement is the truth, a lot of complicated math and some extremely passionate and skilled devolpment=AFM. ...incidentally, the ANG trainer doesn't even seem to have a 3D pit...yuck :P
  18. Just to clarify a little; you need to press and hold the TO trim button to neutralize trim input. It can take a few seconds depending on the amount of trim in the system
  19. This is a million dollar question...will each 3rd party team be giving us a slightly different maverick? A slightly different lightning II TGP (I don't just mean different switchology, I mean different core abilities)? A slightly different mk 82?... I hope not. I'm really excited about the variety that the 3rd parties are bringing (can't wait to try the lightning III TGP, multi target track here we come!) but I'd hope that things like Mavs and CBUs and GBUs are shareable across the appropriate platforms
  20. Agreed. It's neat that the BMS team has dusted off falcon to make it work with win 7, they've done great work. A direct comparison between the two sims is really one sided though... DCS, you've got it kid, I don't know what it is but you've got it :idiot:
  21. interesting, thanks
