  1. Funny, two of you responded that this is annoying.... guess it's a matter of taste. :) I don't think there's any way to change this in Assetto Corsa. But don't let that stop you, it's an incredible VR experience, right up there with Dirt Rally.
  2. I agree. Assetto Corsa displays the main menu and settings on the monitor, and doesn't kick off VR until you're in the car. I absolutely love this and wish every game was this way! As it stands now I start DCS in 2D using the method described by hansangb to do mission planning. Then I have to exit DCS and restart it in VR... very annoying! Hope ED could make this an option some day. Trying to read mission briefings in VR is a pain in the neck!
  3. Thanks, I was having the exact same issue! Must be unnerving for real Huey pilots to navigate over open water.
  4. I was just about to ask the same thing!
  5. Normandy looks great from the ground. Can't wait to stop crashing on takeoff so I can see what it looks like from the air! :D
  6. +1. That was an unexpected benefit of VR, and a very exciting one. Slide the chair over a few inches, adjust the height et voila! Permanent desk/pc setup that supports both flying and driving. Even if the VR industry disappeared tomorrow, we'd still have our Rifts/Vives, and progressively powerful PC's would make the experience better even with the current fixed screen resolution.
  7. Playing in 1.5.7. Wonder if it's possible to downgrade?
  8. I've been having the same problem all evening.
  9. Just returning to this campaign after a long hiatus. Got past the first three missions but I can't progress in the fourth. I make my way to WP2 near Serpent Master and destroy tanks and AAA. Then, nothing happens. There is no further tasking and the mission is stalled. Not sure what to do next. :(
  10. If you can learn to touch type, that's a great solution to using a keyboard in VR.
  11. I see my addiction is not going away any time soon!
  12. Dog fighting in the Rift is beyond compare! But yes, technical missions with modern avionics is more of a PITA.
  13. Who knew touch typing would be an essential skill for flight simming? ;) Once my fingers find the keys with raised indents (f,j,5 on the numpad) I'm able to use the keyboard without looking. Very handy when using the OR!
  14. Tempting.....
  15. Cool, something to do with the M2000. Loved your A-10 Campaign, will definitely try this one.
  16. I find the better the frame rate, the less I'm bothered by low resolution. If you can reach 90+ FPS you'll barely notice the pixels at all. :) BTW, the WOW factor always returns in full force with each new cockpit you get into.
  17. I never found their pedals very comfortable, but still using CH HOTAS for over 12 years. :) Considered getting the Thrustmaster Warthog, but after playing around with it in the store it just didn't feel right. No plans to change my CH gear any time soon.
  18. Now you know the power of the dark side!
  19. I used to, them discovered I was wearing it too tight. :O)
  20. Buttkicker Gamer, actually. I find VR gets uncomfortable and unsettling very quickly without tactile feedback. However, with the Buttkicker engaged I can play for hours without any problem at all. I'm sure it's a more expensive solution than you're looking for ;) but it really completes the VR experience!
  21. I've done quite a few A-10C missions with my RX480. I could get descent frame rates with Pixel Density set to 1.0, but then everything in the cockpit is quite blurry. I've pretty much given up on it until I can upgrade. Has anyone tried two RX 480 cards in crossfire configuration?
  22. Now there's an exciting prospect!
  23. I would say no. Using a Ryzen 7 1800X and an RX 480 video card, I don't enjoy DCS VR at all. Low, unstable frame rates even with the lowest graphic settings. I've given up until I get a better graphics card. That's been my experience, let's see what others say.
  24. If you have the ButtKicker, the default sound in IL-2 Sturmovik works surprisingly well to give tactile feedback. If you have the jetseat though, support for IL-2 would probably be awesome. :)
  25. Agreed, it just not the same experience without a good frame rate. I can enjoy a *few* games on Ultra LOW quality with my RX 480, but I've given up on DCS until I get a proper high-end video card.
