  1. I've noticed that you need to look squarely at what you're trying to click. i.e. the mouse cursor should roughly be in the center of your view, otherwise clicks are not registered.
  2. Indeed, the leading 0 was the answer! Still failed the mission but at least not because of something I didn't know. Thanks, all.
  3. What is the latest version? Does SSA auto update?
  4. I was missing the leading 0 in the East LL. Thanks, I will try that tonight!
  5. The mission where you have to rescue the downed Israeli pilot in the mountains is really busting my chops! 1) I cannot enter the LL coordinates of his radio beacon when they are given. If I remember correctly, they are 425016N (which I can enter fine as WP), and 423053E, which gives me CDU Input Error. Is there a problem with these coordinates or am I doing it wrong? 2) I can tune my ADF to his beacon and use the ADI roll bars to track it, but I never get the the horizontal bar which shows signal strength. How do I know if I'm going toward or away from the signal? 3) After firing missles and my GAU 8 at the same time, the gun jams and I can no longer fire. The DSMS page shows XXX-XX highlighted in red instead of the number of remaining rounds (I know I didn't empty my gun). Is this a scripted failure, did I overheat the gun, or am I doing it wrong? After all this, it seems that the downed pilot is killed/captured very early in the mission. Any tips on what I should be doing differently?
  6. I've played games in VR with the ButtkickerGamer2 and without. Tactile feedback makes a huge difference in preventing motion sickness; I'll no longer play in VR without it.
  7. Incredible, isn't it? The nighttime missions are especially breathtaking. :)
  8. That is correct. I think I might not be setting the VHF radio to T/R. It's hard to tell in VR, so I'll try it on a monitor to see what I'm doing wrong. EDIT: Looked at the manual and I've been turning the wrong dial! Thanks for the clarification, BD.
  9. Halfway through, this is certainly one of the best campaigns I've ever played in DCS. Good job!
  10. Tried to play this mission last night. JTAC "Pointer" radioed in that they would be in contact upon reaching the target, then I never heard from them again. I orbited WP2 for about 20 minutes and even tried to request tasking from Pointer (35MHz VHF FM). Is there something obvious I'm missing?
  11. @f4l0 adjusting the threshold for slow movement sounds good, but what of the effect continuing after the wheels leave the ground?
  12. Here is my track. Notice as I increase throttle with the breaks engaged, the rolling ground effect begins even though the aircraft is not moving forward; it's just pressing down on the gear struts. The effect continues even after I lift off. GroundEffect.trk
  13. I'll try to record a track with this tonight and post it.
  14. Sorry if this has already been discussed: Does anyone else notice that when you take off in the A-10, the ground rolling effects never cease but continue for the rest of the flight? This seems new, I remember in December you could distinctly tell when the wheels left the ground.
  15. @BlackLion LOL! Well put.

    sooo

I'll buy the Corsair no matter where I have to fly it!
  17. Nice write-up!
  18. Thanks, Hawkeye. Really appreciate these stories, as most of us have never had the chance to hear about such things. Looking forward to more!
  19. Very cool!
  20. Ha! I remember this from last year but never noticed the smashing sound before. Sweet!
  21. I've never been so addicted to DCS. I don't know whether to curse you or thank you! :)
  22. I share your frustration, StandingCow. I'd just purchased two A-10C campaigns when they were both broken with the 1.5.5 update. But a little patience paid off and all was well after they released Update 1 last Friday. :D Given what ED is doing, working on such complex software with so many products while coordinating with third party developers and partners, not to mention the transition period from 1.5 to 2.5, it's a testament to the team that things *are getting done*! It's good to have a few campaigns or sims on the go at once, so that when one is in a "broken" state, you can move on and enjoy another while waiting for the next patch.
  23. I wonder how Touch could be leveraged to turn knobs and dials...?
