Done by ED I. mean. It really can't be that hard to take part of 1 3d asset and put it on another. I'm tired of my p51 pilot trying to relive his glory days flying a WW1 SPAD at 25 000 feet with no oxygen.

Spitfire vs Fw190. With exploding Germans.

So basically I have 16 German aircraft, on mission start I want to randomly select 2 of those, that can blow up if they get less than 70% health. So I'm making 8 triggers each for 2 and 2 of the 16 aircraft. However I'm unsure how to do it, so not both aircraft explode if one of them get 70% health... To me the way I've set it up here, it looks like if either of those aircraft hit 70% both of them will blow up?

Having played around in the mission editor in 2 other ww2 sims. The DCS editor is in a league of its own. Sure its clunky. But you need 3 masters and doctorate just to place a couple of air units to flight in that other ww2 sim.

A story in 6 Pictures

The geographical area that is covered on the Normandy map saw fighting from 39 to mid 44. Including dozens of B17 raids. What it did not see was K4s, or D9s nor the particular types of P47 and 51 we have in game. Only the Spitfire, Mossie, and A8 actually saw fighting in that area. Same goes for Channel map. Now the A8 is a perfectly good stand in for all Antons from A5 and out. As they are generally were terrible dogfighters and were aimed at anti-bomber and ground attack work. So preformance wise in DCS A5, A6, A7 and A8 won't be much different. However the K4 has vastly improved preformance over any of the earlier 109s. Be it F or Gs. And that does negatively affect gameplay like when flying Reflected's Spitfire campaigns set in 42 or 43. Or his P47 campaign set in 43/44.

But the p51D is same generation as k4. The Spitfire is 43 model. So those are apples and oranges. That said as long as the AI goes into a turn fight you'll always win in a Spitfire. But that's not the point. The point is to have the correct German aircraft for historical missions and campaigns. The k4 was used late late late 44. Didn't actually fight over Normandy or channel front at all.

The G models(Except for 10/14) were quite a bit slower than Spitfire and P47. The K4 is like 100kmh faster than the Spitfire in DCS. So to simulate the G6. A major speed/power nerf is needed for the K4. In 1943 flyia MkIX you shouldn't have to much trouble overtaking any of the 109s or 190s you'd meet. In DCS you'll never catch a 109 Except in tight turns. You can't even turn off the MW50 in the k4. As it seems the AI always use the MW50 even if you remove it.

109G is the most important. So we can have actual somewhat realistic scenarios for 43 to 45.

I have to be very very careful when flying helos in Afghanistan. 1 minute in any wrong direction and you'll end up surrounded by low texture and terrible geometry. Most of the terrain along the Helmand river looks terrible. While on Syria i can fly any helo almost anywhere for more than an hour and not encounter a single part of the terrain that looks off or wrong

Not sure they are developing it. Or planing on developing it some time in the future. They have said they want to add it. But i don't think they have actually started on the process.

Wings don't fall of as there really isn't any wing damage modeling except for ailerons falling off. In reality if you fire of a few 20mm into the wing of German aircraft, they wing would Not stay off. A single 20mm Hispano round delivers around 90 000 joules in kinetic and chemical energy. Compare that to around 3000 joules from a rifle caliber bullet. DCS also doesn't stimulate wing ammo detonating. In the book tail end Charlie. A p47 gave a short burst with its .50 cals and the wing of a 109 or 190(can't remember which) fell of instantly. That just can't happen in DCS.

I'm sure it's "correct as is" and that's just how the F16 works. But it does seem to be needlessly complicated. Say I want to CCIP bomb a target. But I want to make a point at the target with the tpod to have a better target to aim at. But I can't do that in CCIP it seems. So I have to go to ccrp, make a point then back to ccip.

It has quite a lot of problems. Airfields not working right. Bridges that can br destroyed. If you look at the Sinai map subsection on this forum. You'll see quite a lot of frustratiated players.

Preformance.

Rain is terrible, snow is horrific in VR.

I don't think DCS can do pure sand. I think on every map I've checked there is shrubbery a foot in the sand. And no true sand dunes.

They all got 1800 rounds of .50 cal to do damage to the German war effort on their way home. They encounter a similar sized formation of Focke-Wulfs north of Paris. The P-51s has the advantage of altitude, position, and quality of the pilot training. They dive down on the Fockers. It's a blood bath. 14 of 16 Germans shot down to the loss of just 1 P51. The P51s even had time and ammo to waste on some German locomotives and railcars.

Easiest way I guess would be for ED to add a trigger. That stops GPS bombs from tracking within a trigger zone. Then really any unit can "GPS jam"
