  1. I never even gave the su-25 or tf-51 a shot.. I hopped in the su-25 once, flew for a minute or two and thought , this thing is ugly as hell and it sucks( I’m sure its not a bad aircraft)… then I bought the a-10 and f-18, never looked back I’ve always been into flight sims so it really was a no-brainer for me to jump right in. I have plenty of friends that see my setup and have watched me play and said how cool it is, but they aren’t that “in” to flight sims, so they would never even try it out , no matter how free it was. Point being I honestly don’t feel like the free vs paid modules is what really makes it or breaks it for a lot of people. I mean the whole lot of fc3 aircraft don’t cost that much, to take the next step. How much do people spend on coffee every week, cigarettes, junk at the gas station, bored shopping on amazon, going to the movies or out to one family dinner? For the amount of entertainment they can get out of a dcs module in comparison, I don’t see any reason for ED to consider more free content, Its a stepping stone, thats all.
  2. Is there a way to remove the pilot from the model viewer cockpit? Trying to work on some graphics for a Helios project and just when I get the camera positioned about where I want, the damned pilot body is right in the way lol I swear I’ve clicked every option in there to no avail.

  4. Could be worse.. we could only get 1 or 2 patches a year like most other games. Some not at all Despite a setback here and there, especially knowing its for the beta version, I feel we’re pretty lucky to get updates as often as we do. Maybe its the greatest patch in a decade with big surprises we’ve all been hoping for..Maybe its an arc-210, some campaigns and a few bug fixes… Either way, any update to improve DCS as a whole is welcome in my book.
  5. Awesome! I wish I had the extra space for a dedicated build! I bought a big ass wrap around desk one year for my business in my “ office” which works well.. only to find in the long run, I do 99% of everything on my ipad and laptop sitting in the shop. The desk hasn’t left the flight sim config for a couple years now Even when doing a few quickbooks things or general computing.. maybe its time to downsize lol
  6. Normandy 2 looking great! Even though I don’t fly warbirds nearly enough as I should, it will be a great addition/upgrade. As far as Hoggit, used to be a favorite of mine until they started using “pure scripts”. No display exporting allowed=not playing, for me. Good set of servers though regardless.
  7. OOH yeah McMaster is the last stop… well the stop right before Grainger lol McMaster is a good place, just not for everything. I thought tnutz was fair, and pretty much a one stop shop.
  8. Try tnutz.com. I have ordered quite a bit though them when I was building my cnc router and various other things. Its been several years so I’m not sure how they are on prices these days. But I’m definitely a shop for the best/ reasonable price kinda guy, so at the time it was them. And they have all sorts of sizes, brackets, nuts, everything for building with extrusion.

  10. Is Kneeboard builder a 3rd party app, or built in DCS? I’ve never seen it
  11. Is there a way for OVGME to just change the name of a file? I use ovgme for several things and I understand using it to change what is inside a certain .lua file but if I want to change the name of a certain file. For example in the Syria and Persians gulf terrains, I change the file extension of the small bushes that pop in right in front of you, to “_0.ref” so basically dcs ignores them so they don't appear in game.. I do this every update, it only takes seconds, but It would be nice for ovgme to do it… I did read a few posts up that it wont delete files, but maybe there’s a trick to get it to change the name? Or maybe a different mod manager?
  12. Did not realize actual iff was not modeled in dcs. In some MP servers with live ATC they ask to input squak code. I just noticed that the harrier was the only module I own where you can’t punch it in in the actual aircraft. I didn’t realize that iff was solely a function of srs radio lol I know you can input it straight in there. Knowing now that its an srs function , not dcs, I can see why its not modeled (kind of), but it still would be nice to be able to use the ufc in that scenario, just to feel like its a working feature since most other aircraft have the ability. This is what I was implying
  13. Yes exactly.. My monitor is 49” ultrawide samsung.. just a setting that did odd things on mine.. I just went from a 3080 to a 4080 as well a couple months ago.. had no adverse effects, very weird. The only thing i noticed was right after I installed it, the logo on the side of the card was flashing slowly, which indicates the card isn’t getting enough power.. Turns out I really had to push the power plug in hard on the side of the gpu (founders edition) to get it fully set.. I’ll dig through the helios discord, I know recently I saw someone having the same issue ( even if you’re not using helios is still exports type same way) and it wasn’t a v-sync problem.. I’ll respond back if I find anything else out.
  14. Does your monitor have response rate settings by chance? My monitor id g-sync compatible, I had no issues with g-sync on or off , but mine does have a response setting. I’ve tried on other games and get weird things happening visually, in- game if its set to the fastest setting, so I keep it on normal. But the audible click is odd for sure. I have no ideas on that.
  15. Interesting, I’ve only experienced it with vsync fast. Hope you get it figured out, i know how annoying it is lol
  16. Do you have v-sync “fast mode” turned on in nvidia settings? That will cause flickering with exported displays. I use vsync in game and viewports don’t flicker but if you have fast enabled in nvidia settings, they definitely will. Thats the only thing I’ve come across that does it.
  17. It looks like the game needs to support DLSS natively.. this seems to just add DLAA functionality if it is not an option already.. will have to wait and see when dcs integrates dlss …. If I am reading/ deciphering it correctly
  18. Back in January,I believe, ED posted new pictures of Caucasus map. Idk if that was just a showcase for clouds, but there’s several shots trees and terrain, water and objects that seem to look better than what is current. Possibly making some modifications, or maybe just finely tuned theatrical lighting for the shots? I’d be fine with the ongoing lighting upgrades, better trees, mountain peaks without sharp edges. Maybe even, at a far stretch, a bit more detail to the static terrain buildings such as baked on/ fake Ambient Occlusion shadows possibly, bridges that look more like they’re part of the map, not a random object slapped on.. just some fine tuning to add a bit more depth.. I’d even be willing to pay for a “High-res/detail”Caucasus pack. Hoping with MT-DLSS-Vulkan, that more efforts will be made in the graphical realm… wishes

Would like to see the Multiplayer IC system re-worked to exclude anything to do with exported viewports, mfd’s, gauges, anything in viewporthandling.lua etc. Example—- I hop in a server( non pure scripts enabled) it lets me in and fly using helios as long as I want. Hop out to switch server to go to a different one and all of the gauge exports fail IC until I restart the game. Also happens when playing single player first and then trying to go into MP. All exports get flagged until game restart. I know the need for IC to prevent mods to weapons, flight dynamics etc to prevent cheaters, but viewports and gauges? Come on! Since I have mfd’s exported, I like to turn them off on the in-game cockpit by commenting out a line in the viewporthandling.lua, that fails IC immediately.. hardly a cheat..also prevents the dreaded overwhelmingly bright mfd’s at night when using exported displays(which don't follow the same lighting/brightness as the in-game ones). Anyone else have strong feelings about this?

  20. I believe this is a known multiplayer bug that started around 2.8 release or shortly after.. after the pure scripts deal was released as an option on servers. In previous posts ED has said they are aware, and restarting the game is the only work around. The Multiplayer IC system needs a severe re-vamp.

Ive done that plenty of times, frantically flinging the seeker head to the next target hoping i let go of the slew at just the right time, but the space stabilize never seems to work for me as it does in wags video… I will mess with it , more.. the function is there , i’m 100% sure I’m missing one of the three steps

  23. 30% is what I have seen/ heard. Whether that's 100% accurate, isn't for me to say.. anything in that range seems pretty steep to me, especialy over thousands of sales
  24. I use steam, went to pre-order.. no preorder, saw it was not available after checking discord.. result=bummed. not the end of the world I’ll grab it on EA. No sense in losing sleep over $8. I don’t blame them really after finding out what a chunk of profit steam takes right off the top. Thinking its time to switch to standalone just to better support the devs. More money for them, better products for us. Still excited for release either way!
  25. I meant SPI lol I’m now assuming I need to make the MAV page SPI.. I of course make the mav page soi, but tgp is still designated as spi.. maybe thats my issue.
